I decided to find out how much new Ural 2020 motorcycles cost now. I show photos and prices from the official website

Russian motorcycle manufacturers, despite the large selection of Japanese and Chinese equipment, still try to please consumers with excellent new products, and in 2015 the IMZ company introduced a number of new models.

Today, most of them are available for sale throughout Russia; to buy a Ural motorcycle, you just need to find a dealership; the company has several dozen of them throughout the country. At the time of 2015, the manufacturer was able to introduce 7 new models, differing from each other in shape and some characteristics. Most of the new products are already familiar to you from Soviet times, but the essence of the updates is to add new, more modern characteristics to the motorcycles, such as improved brakes, a more advanced engine system, etc.

Technical characteristics of motorcycles Ural 2015

It is worth noting that all 7 models have quite a lot in common; each of them contains:

  • powerful 750cc boxer engine;
  • constant air cooling;
  • 4-speed gearbox with the ability to drive in reverse.

Even as children, we had to remember the same boxer engine of Ural motorcycles, which produced excellent speed data. Now the manufacturer has decided to modify the motorcycle, increasing its volume and power. Having bought a new model, you will not only be satisfied with the purchase, but also forget for a long time about the main defects and frequent breakdowns of the old Urals. The new models have received improvements, so that now oil will not leak from the engine.

The new Ural 2015, photos of which will be below, are especially popular today in the United States. Such equipment is valued there, although in Russia it is losing demand due to the high price for consumers. In 2015 and beyond, IMZ motorcycles are mostly supplied to the USA.

Six of the seven 2015 models retained the standard stroller, only the Retro Solo did not receive one. All new products, without exception, now have the ability to engage reverse gear, and the Patrol and Gear Up models now have all-wheel drive. Urals have always been spoken about positively in terms of cross-country ability, because the motorcycle could get out of any difficult situation. With the new all-wheel drive, 2 models can overcome these barriers even better with the push of just 1 lever. As mentioned above, motorcycles are of different types, for example, the “Retro Solo” model does not have a sidecar, which makes it great for traveling and driving around the city.

Of course, the new products have one big drawback that repels customers - the high price. On average, 2015 models are asking from 500 to 700 thousand rubles, and most people buy Japanese fast bikes. But still, some fans of Soviet classics will buy them and feel nostalgic when riding Ural road motorcycles. Let's take a quick look at some of the new Ural motorcycles 2015, photos and their characteristics.

Scoopcycles

I'll start with the most ancient M-72, the ancestor of which is the BMW-R71.

The motorcycle began to be produced in 1941, primarily for motorcycle units of the Red Army. A 22-horsepower boxer engine with a volume of 746 cubic meters was installed as a power unit. As a result of subsequent modifications, the power increased to 27 l/s. The weight of the motorcycle is about 220 kg, and the maximum speed is 105 km/h. This is where the Urals began! I would like to note that to this day this motorcycle model is produced in China under the name “Chang-Xiang” and is even exported.

The next stop in the story was the M-52. This model was already made as a road motorcycle and was intended more for high-speed riding on asphalt than for off-road travel. The Ural M-52 was equipped with a 500 cc four-stroke two-cylinder engine. cm and a power of 24 hp, which made it possible to reach a speed of 110 km/h. Today it is considered one of the rarest Soviet production motorcycles.

Given the continued demand for models with off-road performance, the new M-61 model (1960-1961 production year) was born. The Ural M-61 was made on the same chassis as the M-72 and M-52, but this model had a 650 cc engine. cm and power 28 hp. Already more suitable for driving on rural roads. This model was produced from 1957 to 1963.

The birth of the M-62 dates back to 1961-1965. The new Ural model has been significantly modernized; it has automatic ignition timing, thanks to which engine power has increased by 2 hp. With. and amounted to 28 hp, a new gearbox and increased suspension travel. The weight of the motorcycle is 320 kg, and the maximum speed remains about 100 km/h.

The first Ural M-63 rolled off the assembly line in 1964 and became the first model with a pendulum rear wheel suspension. Also new in this model are hydraulic shock absorbers and new mufflers. Production of this model ended in 1971.

In 1971, the M-63 was replaced by a new model, the M-66 (I feel as if I’m writing about girl models (:). So, the M-66 differed from the previous ones in the “upgrade” of the engine, which increased its power to 32 hp Namely, an oil filter was added, and the front engine cover was changed accordingly.Like everything else in this world, the production of the M-66 came to an end in 1973.

“Ural” M-67 (1973-1976) and “Ural” M-67-36 (1976-1983) were not particularly different in appearance. The difference between the M-67 and the previous model was the 12-volt generator used for the first time. And on the M-67-36 model, the designers again worked on the engine and squeezed 36 hp out of it. They found these missing horses in modified cylinder heads (the stroke angles and diameter of the valve plates, and accordingly the valve rocker arms, changed).

The next model was the Ural IMZ-8.103-30 (1983-1986). As can be seen from the photo, the new motorcycle model was equipped with an exhaust system with one muffler. Changes also affected the rear suspension; it became a lever suspension with double-acting spring-hydraulic shock absorbers, adjustable in height.

I will call this part “Our days” , because... the following motorcycles are still produced to this day.

“Ural” IMZ-8.103-40 Tourist model is equipped for the first time with a lever front fork. In recent years, engineers at the Irbit Motorcycle Plant have been constantly improving this model, and achieving very good results. First of all, it should be said that the latest Tourist models are equipped with new four-stroke two-cylinder engines with a power of 45 hp and a displacement of 750 cc. This allows the updated motorcycle to accelerate on the highway to a speed of 120 km/h.

“Ural” IMZ-8.123 Solo is a single vehicle based on IMZ-8.103-10. The model is equipped with a four-speed gearbox with reverse gear, front telescopic and rear pendulum suspension, electric starter, front hydraulic disc brakes, rear drum brakes and safety bars. The latest modifications of the Ural Solo motorcycle are equipped with the same engine as the Tourist, which produces a maximum speed of about 130 km/h.

"Ural" IMZ-8.1037 GEAR-UP is a militarized model of a modern road motorcycle, the production of which began in 2005. The same “Tourist” was taken as a basis. It has two drive wheels with a differential-free transmission, which significantly improves the off-road performance of the motorcycle and equipment for installing various weapons.

“Ural” IMZ-8.1238 Wolf can rightfully be considered a unique creation of the domestic motorcycle industry. And this is not surprising, because the Ural Wolf is the first full-fledged Russian chopper. Its mass production was started by the Irbit Motor Plant in 1999, and since then this model has enjoyed considerable success not only among domestic buyers, but also abroad. Another interesting fact is that the concept of this first Russian chopper was developed by factory engineers together with representatives of the famous Russian biker club - “Night Wolves”. The main feature of this model is its very long wheelbase of 1690 mm. Among other significant technical features, it is distinguished by a very powerful engine - its volume is 745 cubic centimeters and its performance is 40 horsepower. The engine provides a decent top speed of the motorcycle, under suitable conditions it can accelerate to 150 km/h, and acceleration to 100 km/h occurs in 10 seconds.

“Ural” IMZ-8.1036 Retro , as a result of all the modernizations, the motorcycle not only became one of the most stylish motorcycles in the model line, but also passed certification for the European and American markets. The Ural "Retro" motorcycle with sidecar is equipped with a 750 cc opposed four-stroke two-cylinder engine. cm and a power of 45 hp. Maximum speed 120 km/h. The Urals with a sidecar are incredibly popular abroad, especially in the USA, so the Irbit plant has no problems with the sales market today. In 2001, the plant produced a modification of the Ural “Retro” without a sidecar, and two years ago, for demonstration at the Haynes International Motor Museum in England, a unique model of the Ural “Retro” motorcycle with right-hand drive was developed. By the way, the right-hand drive version also appealed to the Japanese, who purchased several models. The facts speak for themselves)))

In this article I tried to describe the history of the development and modernization of Ural motorcycles and the characteristics of the main production models. If you have any comments or suggestions, I will be happy to listen. I plan to write similar articles about other monsters of the domestic motorcycle industry.

Motorcycle Ural ST

The new product was presented by the plant at the end of 2014 and was positioned as a representative of 2015. At the moment, the price of the model is 594,000 rubles. Particularly noteworthy are a number of positive innovations in the field of management. This indicator was improved by reducing the weight of the stroller and other structural elements. The model is perfect for beginner bikers.

The model's rims are 18 inches in size, and this is what has improved ground clearance and maneuverability. The engine with fuel injection, having a volume of 745 cubic meters, is responsible for excellent and reliable operation. The heavy road model reaches speeds of up to 110 km/h, with an average fuel consumption of 7.6 liters. The power declared by the manufacturer is 42 hp.

Motorcycles Ural 2022

The first official photos of Ural motorcycles of the 2022 model year and preliminary technical information have appeared.8) The appearance of Ural motorcycles remains almost unchanged, but there will be many technical improvements! 1) New quality cylinders Precision honed for consistent ring sealing at high temperatures Improved oil retention and longer cylinder life Cooling fins enlarged for improved cooling efficiency. 2) New cylinder heads The exhaust tract is reduced in length to reduce cylinder head temperatures. New self-priming fuel pump with built-in filter and pressure relief High-efficiency catalysts to reduce pollution without sacrificing power 7) High-quality new-style wheel rims All three wheels are interchangeable All three wheels (and the spare fourth too) now use the same hub, which makes them completely interchangeable. The rims supplied by the new supplier are made from aluminum alloys and have excellent durability and cleanliness. “Fully interchangeable spare tire.” Full details will be published in about a week.

Motorcycle Ural Patrol

The most important advantage of this model is the presence of all-wheel drive, which is transmitted to the stroller wheel. Thus, you can operate the motorcycle both on city roads and off-road. The engine remains the same as other 2015 models. The design of the motorcycle is discreet, but the presence of a bright red color attracts primarily young people.

To cope with difficult road conditions, the manufacturer decided to install Marzocchi telescopic suspension and imported Sachs shock absorbers. The front disc brakes are hydraulic, from the famous Brembo company.

Motorcycle Ural Solo

The price of this motorcycle is 559,000 rubles, and the main advantage over other new products is its excellent design and the absence of a sidecar. That is, the motorcycle was originally created as a retro model with excellent characteristics. All the elements here are in harmony with each other, there is an old seat upholstered in leather, lots of chrome elements, black color of most of the builders and a teardrop tank.

This model seems to commemorate war times, which is emphasized by the design of the Ural Solo. The engine here is the same as in previous models, 2 cylinders and 745 cc. With such overall dimensions, the new product can drive perfectly around the city even in heavy traffic.

Motorcycle Ural Gear-Up

At the moment, this is one of the most expensive Ural models of 2015, its price is 648,000 rubles. The basis for creating the motorcycle was the Tourist model, but among the improvements the following were made:

  • new roll bars;
  • drive to the sidecar wheel (all-wheel drive motorcycle);
  • new color options: Forest Camouflage, Desert Camouflage and Forest Fog;
  • new lights and cases appeared.

In appearance, the new product shows its power and desire to conquer even the most difficult road. As a result, the manufacturer was able to create a motorcycle that has good cross-country ability, 19-inch wheels, a large trunk, high ground clearance and the latest imported electrical equipment. The result can be seen in the photo.

IMZ 2022 news.

Motorcycles Ural 2018 model year. Changes in configuration. Preliminary data on changes to the 2022 Ural motorcycles have become known. Ural Retro M70 motorcycles remain only in Russia; the supply of this model to the main foreign markets is questionable. In Europe and the USA, the emphasis will be on the Gear Up and sT models. The standard colors of Ural motorcycles are changing (those without extra charge). For the Ural City model, the standard colors for 2022 are your choice: Dark cherry metallic matte BURGUNDY METALLIC MATTE, Asphalt metallic Crater Gray, TERRACOTTA METALLIC (Terracotta). For Ural GirAp 2022, this is a choice of matte khaki metallic OLIVE METALLIC MATTE, SAHARA (Sahara) or forest camouflage WOODLAND CAMO (LQD). In Russia, for Ural Retro M70 you can choose from: Khaki metallic matte OLIVE METALLIC MATTE, Black matte FLAT BLACK, Swamp green metallic GREEN METALLIC.

Other colors and custom paint schemes are still available for an additional fee.

With the final abandonment of shiny elements (steering wheel, shock absorber springs, yokes, etc.) and with a change in the basic colors, the Ural Retro models (the one that was glossy black and with white markings) and the Ural Patrol are leaving the IMZ assembly line. Of course, you can still order (in the form of options and for an additional fee) configurations that will turn the GirAp into a Patrol, and the Ural M70 into a Retro. But there won’t be any shine in them anyway.

The fate of the legendary tractor-type seats (“frogs”) is in question. As standard, they have been installed since 2017 only on the Ural Retro M70, which in 2022 is supplied only in Russia. Considering the small size of the Russian market, the question “how long such a seat will remain available, even as an option” remains open, in our opinion. Like the solid saddle of the “old” model, also Italian, it was replaced in 2022 by a new, “flat” one. Some of our customers are unhappy with this replacement.

Definitely a pleasant change - fog lights will appear as standard on the Ural GirAp. This is very good; almost all of our customers expressed a desire to order this option earlier. We hope this will not cause a significant increase in the price of Ural GirAp. The hand pump, which was previously standard, is now an optional extra. This is probably not bad either - many will prefer to buy an electric pump for inflating tires. Ural motorcycles have enough space to accommodate it, and compact models are also present on the market. The hydraulic steering damper will change; now it will be from a famous Italian manufacturer. There will be new windshields for motorcycles and sidecars. New option packages for Ural motorcycles have been announced, but they will be announced later.
