A trouble-free sport bike - this is how one can describe two modifications of the Honda CBR 600 f3 and Honda CBR 600 f4i. For those who don’t know, “sports” very often love the brains of their owners. Partly due to improper use of the equipment, but often due to its fragility. Manufacturers often implement complex but effective systems from racing versions into road versions.

There are other drawbacks, for example, the seating position is typical sports, but the motorcycle will live most of its life on public roads. This is due to the special nature of the model. So, you won’t be able to refuel for reasons of economy, otherwise you’ll immediately set aside funds for repairing the injectors. Therefore, even before purchasing, look for the best gas stations in the city.

The second nuance is a sporty disposition. Exceptional response to the throttle, as well as sharp maneuvers when tilting the body, are a sign of an excellent motorcycle for an experienced rider. A motorcycle can not only frighten a beginner, but also, in the absence of appropriate skills, throw it off.

You will have to spend almost all your time in the shrimp position; if you don’t agree, choose another bike.

On the other side of the scale are excellent dynamics, handling, an exciting exhaust note and excellent appearance. When buying such a motorcycle, you should know what you are getting into. This is not a forgiving Honda CBR 600 f4i, but pure speed and fury wrapped in a shell of aluminum and plastic.

Almost at the limit of Japanese technology, the modern Honda CB600F Hornet has a top speed of 240 km/h and can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds. At the same time, the fuel consumption declared by the manufacturer is 5.75 liters per 100 km.

Story

The first Honda CBR 600 with the F Hurricane prefix appeared in 1987. Sporty fit, streamlined body kit and powerful 85 hp engine. did not leave the model unattended. Now the appearance of the first generation looks a little archaic, but in its time it created a sensation.

In 1991, an updated version of the Honda CBR600 F2 appeared. It was a completely different motorcycle. Almost everything has been updated. The plastic body kit has become more aggressive, sharp lines and corners have appeared. The engine began to spin up to an impressive 12,000 rpm, while producing 100 hp. The chassis has been improved. A telescopic fork with adjustments was installed at the front, and a rebound adjustment was added at the rear pendulum.

Honda CBR 600 f3 is more of a restyling, as minimal changes have been made. There is a new telescopic fork and rear swingarm, which improves ride quality. The front brakes have been updated, as well as the shape of the plastic body kit. Honda CBR 600 f3 is the first of the modifications that began to actively conquer the domestic market.

Honda CBR 600 f4 - did not last long on the assembly line from 1999 to 2000. The model was better than its predecessors in everything, due to its sporting orientation. The weight was only 168 kg, which is almost 20 less than previous versions. This was achieved by replacing the outdated steel frame with an updated aluminum frame. The engine gained 110 hp. and 65 Nm of torque – record figures for the line. To cope with the updated characteristics, the brakes were improved, the suspension was updated and as a result, according to the passport, the motorcycle could be accelerated to 258 km/h. This was the peak of performance, which was replaced by the Honda CBR 600 f4i model.

The previous generation turned out to be quite successful for a production model, but the manufacturers decided that the motorcycle had not gotten rid of all the archaisms and installed fuel injection on the engine. This is how the Honda CBR 600 f4i appeared. The new injection system had absolutely no effect on driving characteristics. The Honda CBR 600 f4i fully retains the performance of its carburetor predecessor. The only difference is that the maximum speed has dropped noticeably. After introducing injection, do not expect the motorcycle to go faster than 223 km/h, which is 35 less than its predecessor.

The modern model, which is on the assembly line to this day, has regained its original name Honda CBR 600 F. Unlike previous generations, this can be called a dead end. The manufacturer has stopped increasing capacity and from year to year produces a popular model, which, although it has lost its flavor, continues to be sold. The engine now produces no more than 102 forces and 63 torques. With a dry weight of 170 kg and a headwind, you will reach 230 km/h, which is comparable to motorcycles from 1987. But at the same time, the bike consumes a little less fuel compared to its competitors, it is reliable and easy to ride.

The wide popularity of the model directly affects the creative and technical abilities of motorcycle tuning enthusiasts. First of all, the external design elements of Honda motorcycles are subject to tuning. This is not as closely related to owner dissatisfaction as it is to the almost inevitable damage to motorcycles as two-wheeled vehicles that are less stable than cars.
