Types of cases and methods of mounting on an ATV

The Baltmotors ATV 400 EFI ATV is the most affordable model among other ATVs in the Baltmotors ATV line. In many of its parameters, this ATV repeats the legendary Yamaha Grizzly 350, which has established itself as a simple, reliable and unpretentious motorcycle.

Baltmotors ATV 400 has a good margin of safety, which was built into the design at the development stages. The equipment is designed for heavy use, and that is why it does not have complex components, and is simple and accessible in terms of maintenance and repair. Moreover, operation of the equipment is possible even far from service centers.

The ATV has a modern four-stroke single-cylinder power unit equipped with a fuel injection system. The working volume of this engine is 387 cubic meters, which allows it to develop a rated output power of 20 kilowatts, which translates to 27 horsepower. The engine also uses a liquid cooling system and an oil cooler, which together provide reliable protection against overheating in severe operating conditions. The engine is paired with a continuously variable V-belt CVT. High safety is due to an effective braking system with disc brakes with hydraulic drives, as well as a front bumper made of steel and covered with durable plastic. The brakes allow you to immediately stop the equipment even at high speeds, when the front bumper protects the entire front part of the ATV in the event of a collision.

Due to the fact that this ATV has small overall dimensions, a short wheelbase, as well as all-wheel drive and high-profile 25-inch tires, the equipment shows excellent results on off-road conditions. These features also ensure excellent handling, maneuverability and stability. The ATV can easily maneuver in forested areas. Moreover, the machine does not take up much space when stored.

The power unit used is characterized by increased efficiency and reliability. The launch can be carried out at fairly low temperatures and in high altitude conditions. Also, starting can be done either with an electric starter or with a manual one.

For owners of country houses, farmers, hunters, fishermen, foresters and employees of any farms, this ATV may well serve as an ideal assistant. Thanks to its high versatility, the Baltmotors ATV 400 can carry out even quite complex tasks, including clearing snow, forests, as well as transporting heavy loads on a trailer.

The history of the Jumbo 700

Before production began, Baltmotors engineers decided to use Japanese and Taiwanese technologies and combine them into one ideal model. The Taiwanese engine was seriously modernized, which received impressive characteristics. The engine is also equipped with Japanese spare parts - piston, rings and bearings. The gearbox is also Japanese made.

Serial production of the model began in 2011, the country of origin is Russia. The manufacturer itself classifies its new product as a utilitarian ATV. Over several years of sales of the Jumbo ATV, reviews have been mostly positive, because the equipment has proven to be reliable and productive.

PVC motorcycle trunks

PVC plastic is an excellent material for homemade products; it is easily bent when heated with a hair dryer, cut with a regular knife, glued using special adhesives, and is very lightweight.

PVC makes lightweight travel racks for motorcycles of all shapes and sizes.

Just don’t forget that the lid should be wider than the hole and you will succeed! Eco-leather, leatherette, fabric and genuine leather adhere well to PVC, so here you are not limited in your imagination by anything!

You can decorate homemade motorcycle travel bags with rivets, locks, straps - whatever you want. This is how the manufacturing technology of PVC trunks is described.

For manufacturing, PVC with a thickness of 3 mm is ordered, this is optimal for ease of bending. First, the sidewalls are made from chipboard, connected to each other by planks as firmly as possible. Using a stapler, we stuff a PVC sheet protruding a couple of cm on each side onto the flat part of the frame. An allowance is needed in case the bend does not go smoothly and this will give some room for maneuver. Giving the sheet shape: constantly heating the PVC with a hairdryer, quickly bend the sheet and secure it with a stapler. After cooling, remove the staples and remove them from the frame. We glue the sides. We use the stapler again as we gluing. As a result, we get a finished PVC frame, on which we lay a second layer of plastic - again heating the sheet, glue and staples. After the glue has polymerized, the staples are pulled out. Mark the future cover and carefully cut it out. Please note that the lid has 4 layers - 2 that go inside the cut hole and the lid itself. The covering is done to your taste. You can glue it on immediately and hide the edges by fixing it with a stapler (the staples are also removed after gluing), this is how they cover furniture, or you can sew a cover and fix it with glue at the moment of putting it on.

Belts and other accessories stop at will. As you can see, making a motorcycle case with your own hands is very simple! The main thing is not to be afraid to start!

Reviews

  1. I purchased a Baltmotors ATV 400 EFI ATV a week ago. Now the car is running in and everything is working properly. I like the appearance of this model, there’s something about it that really caught my attention. Although it looks minimalist, it is powerful, and its wheels especially clearly complement it. On the field, the car behaves well, bumpy areas go unnoticed, and large bumps are quite smooth. The ATV copes well with off-road conditions, does not get stuck and moves forward confidently. Acceleration from a standstill is quite brisk and fast. The engine and variator work flawlessly. I only changed the oil in the car. A full tank lasts for quite a long trip; personally, it took me half a day to use it up. In my city there are no problems with spare parts, since there is a special service center nearby. I'm happy with the ATV.
  2. In 2016, I bought this ATV for rides. The power is impressive, at least for me it is more than enough. The motor runs well and starts quickly and first time. I even tried to run it at a temperature of -20, everything worked fine without dancing with a tambourine. Once there was a major breakdown; at a certain mileage, the front gearbox cracked. As for the quality of the plastic, yes, there are some doubts, but so far everything is intact. Over the entire period of use, I slowly modified the ATV with all sorts of little things, so to speak, customized it to suit myself. Now I like absolutely everything about technology. I remember when I bought it, they told me that it was better to immediately unscrew the throttle limit screw, but run-in wisely. Simply because of this screw there may not be enough power, which is why the variator belt will slip, which is very harmful for it.
  3. At the beginning of last year I acquired a Baltmotors ATV 400 EFI ATV. I purchased it along with a set of tracks. This model became my first acquaintance with such motorcycle equipment. The ATV brings a lot of positive impressions. I drove through the snow for several kilometers like this, but then installed the tracks. Installation takes not 40 minutes, as it might seem, but 2-3 hours. The traction of an ATV is just like that of a tank. Five of us rode, two were on an ATV and three more were on sleds from a snowstorm with things. It drives great everywhere and copes confidently in virgin lands. There were also some breakdowns. The gas tap regulator broke, and three boots on the drives were punctured. And everything is very good and working properly. It was tested on tracks and switched back to wheels only at the beginning of spring. In general, there are no complaints about the quality; as for me, the equipment is made to last.

Cases for motorcycle travel made of aluminum canister

The manufacturing technology of an aluminum canister is not too different from that described above.

As you can see, everything is quite simple here - we cut off the top part, installed hinges and fasteners, glued an elastic band along the top of the open case for sealing and the motorcycle case from an aluminum canister is ready! You can get confused and make the top cover separately, the simplest thing is to glue it out of fiberglass with epoxy; for this, a block is made from an easily processed material, for example, polystyrene foam and covered with fiberglass.

The foam from the roof is etched with acetone and the covers can be placed on homemade motorcycle trunks.

We paint the frames of the motorcycle in the same color and you can, having installed luggage cases on the back of the motorcycle, go to the exhibition of the motorcycle fraternity.

Since the lids are made with a margin of width, they are placed on the remains of the canisters, blocking the rain from accessing the rider’s belongings.

Engine

Utilities of Russian Mechanics are equipped with 4-stroke water-cooled engines. The volume of the internal combustion engine depends on the modification:

RM 500 and 650 accelerate to 85 km/h on a flat asphalt road. Russian Mechanics 800 is capable of speeds of up to 100 km/h. All models run on AI-92 gasoline and have a 24-liter tank.

The line of Canadian Outlanders also includes three modifications:

Outlanders are equipped with Rotax engines. These are one of the most reliable internal combustion engines in the world, characterized by uninterrupted operation and a long service life. In the 650 and 1000 X MR models, the radiator is placed at the level of the steering wheel, which allows you to overcome deep fords.

Appearance

A strict but modern design is best conveyed in this new product. The manufacturer has several shades in stock; the main elements, including protective ones, are located on the body. The presence of plastic improves the design, making it more aggressive and solid. No experiments were carried out on the forms, so everything here is standard. There is a backrest for the passenger. The ATV suspension and bottom are securely covered with aluminum protection. The aggressiveness of the Baltmotors Jumbo 700 is added by large 12-inch wheels with lug tires.
