The BRP Lynx Commander 800 R E-TEC immediately stands out among other utility snowmobiles. The model from the Canadian brand is built on the REV-XU platform and has an aggressive design. Instead of classic racks with a telescopic system, the equipment is equipped with A-shaped arms, complemented by a lateral stability stabilization system. Coupled with adjustable front shock absorbers (adjustment height – 210 mm), this technology ensures smooth and easy movement. Another feature is the rear shock absorbers with body height adjustment (range – 340 mm). Thanks to this, the device is suitable for forest roads with loose and deep snow and for compacted trails.

To drive fast and ensure high traction, the model has the following elements:

  • powerful Rotax E-TEC engine;
  • ski extensions;
  • huge tracks with a width of 500 mm;
  • high lugs;
  • steering wheel adjustment;
  • driver's handrail.

The curved handlebar, complemented by a mountain strap, and the high position of the instrument panel make the Lynx Commander 800 R E-TEC equally comfortable to use in a standing position during aggressive movement and in a standard sitting position. This placement provides easy control of the operating parameters of the equipment.

Lynx Commander has been a favorite for a long time. The idea that a carpeted machine could also be fun to drive proved to be a reality, and for 2022 Lynx released the Commander in an attempt to further improve the sled's performance.

So Lynx Commander was the first to prove that you can have fun and go all out with broadband. It's a concept that's been working ever since Ski-Doo created the Expedition Extreme, a near-clean copy of the Lynx, and later Polaris and its Titan XC made their own replica.

The 996 +/- 21mm wide A-LFS+ trailer is lighter than its predecessor and also features curved lower arms for increased ground clearance. This is good both because it is easier to drive on snow and because the risk of an accident is reduced.

The Blade XC skis work great on the Commander and make the machine feel light and smooth. They also work great in the wild.

The weight of the structure is distributed along the length of the snowmobile. Together with a long caterpillar, this feature allows you to overcome uneven terrain and climb steep slopes without slipping. High lugs ensure easy movement on any off-road terrain, including ice. In terms of capabilities, the Lynx Commander 800 R E-TEC can be compared with a good mountain all-terrain vehicle. Low gear ratios make it easy to transport heavy loads in harsh conditions.

The one-piece chassis and angled tunnel allow for a narrower seat to maintain a natural riding position. Heated steering wheel grips and seats make long trips more comfortable. The base seat has a large compartment for transporting things. An additional passenger seat is available as an accessory.

The BRP Links Commander 800 has new skis with the Blade XC blade, which are characterized by excellent handling with minimal effort. The weight of the skis is 2.2 kg less than that of standard Blade skis. The snowmobile display is informative and clear. The windshield has been preserved in its original form.

Lynx Commander 800 R E-TEC is a relatively new model, but it already has several interesting modifications. The modifications to the snowmobile were carried out by Finnish specialists from the BRP division. Initially, the Lynx Commander 800 Xtrim R E-TEC version was presented, differing from the basic version with a sporty front suspension and an upgraded engine, which made the device faster.

A year later, the Lynx Xtrim Commander 800 Touratech R E-TEC premiered - a previous modification with bright tuning from the German company Touratech. The result is a snowmobile with reliable suspension, sporty energy consumption and maximum comfort. Another innovation is the electrically adjustable rear suspension, which can be adjusted directly from the steering wheel. The front suspension remains the same.

I bought a snowmobile 6 years ago. The season opened yesterday. During all this time it never broke down, there were no problems at all. As for the price, I think it is very adequate, since it is simply stupid to expect quality for less money. rnCommander also has fewer parts, Easy Ride has 109 parts compared to PPS which had 131 parts. The springs also make the cart softer and more comfortable, with the center attenuator measuring 30N/mm and rear 45N/mm on the Easy Ride, compared to 65N/mm and 70N/mm on the PPS. With softer springs, the cart can also have lighter components, with the front camber being a whopping 3.93kg lighter, for example!

The quality is very average, as is the price. A million is not much, there are even more expensive snowmobiles. The family is happy, I’m not very happy, as I expected more. A friend of mine has a model that is half the price, I didn’t see any difference. rnA good way is to compare everything, starting from the basic indicators, it is difficult to understand the rationality of the acquisition. The new sled also has a quick link that is located in the rear to switch between settings 1 and 2. The fixed part of the sled is also 10 centimeters longer than before. The machine is equipped with a Rotax 800R E-TEC engine with proprietary 3-D RAVE technology. In addition, let's pay attention to the mixed cooling system with a radiator and an electric fan. The system also integrates liquid cooling. These components are combined with each other in such a way as to ensure optimal temperature and stable operation. The engine starts using an electric starter - by pressing a button, or manually.

The motor in question has little in common with classic engines with a two-stroke layout. The developers paid special attention to the direct injection system, which is responsible for controlling mixture formation. Fuel injection is carried out directly into the combustion chamber, and occurs at the moment when the intake and exhaust valves close. As a result, this had a beneficial effect on efficiency, relative noiselessness and minimal vibrations. By the way, in terms of noise, this unit can be compared with more productive 4-stroke engines. Thanks to its large power reserves, the Rotax 800R E-TEC engine can easily withstand heavy loads - for example, when driving with a trailer and two passengers. The engine displacement is 0.8 liters and the power is 164 horsepower. With such indicators, a snowmobile is capable of reaching over 100 km/h.
