Why BPR
Thus, the popularity with which ATVs were sold increased at a truly impressive pace. Such a high rating can be explained by the large number of travel companies that purchase any modifications of Can Am for the leisure of their clients and tourists. The second, no less important aspect was that the cost of all Canadian models from BRP began to decrease over time. Today, the price is very affordable, which in no way indicates poor quality
On the contrary, this Canadian brand is an amazing value for money. Summing up It is quite possible to travel through the most difficult areas on ATVs and, undoubtedly, enjoy the process. It should also be noted that traveling to exotic places on this type of transport is many times more interesting, than, say, on an off-road jeep. If we talk about hunters, foresters and rangers, then for them an ATV may turn out to be a unique and inimitable means of transport that they can use in accordance with the conditions of their work. Therefore, those who are thinking about purchasing one If you are looking for an interesting vehicle like an ATV, you should definitely turn your attention to the popular brand from Canada. LET'S WATCH THE VIDEO AND ENJOY THE POWER OF QUADERS
Technical features of Outlander ATVs
The company's ATV vehicle lineup includes more than a dozen types of vehicles. They mainly differ in the number of wheels (these are either classic 4x4 all-terrain vehicles or 6x6 tourist vehicles) and engine power. Naturally, when purchasing, one cannot help but notice the presence of additional functions that directly affect traction and cross-country ability.
In the best traditions of creating professional vehicles, the manufacturer has been creating its ATVs based on the Rotax engine for several years in a row. Among the models, the buyer can choose several options, distinguished by power: 450, 570, 650 or 1000 cm3. All of them are created on different frame bases, which made it possible to divide the series into single and double models. In 2022, the Outlander ATV line includes 13 models, including the limited edition Outlander MAX 1000R Limited.
General technical parameters of the models include:
- Rotax engine with smart air cooling system. The V-shaped piston stroke system allows for maximum power, due to which all ATVs have increased cross-country ability in complete off-road conditions.
- The electric starter and variable transmission ensure a comfortable ride, even if this is your first time behind the wheel of an ATV vehicle.
- Disc braking system for 4 or 6 wheels. The ability to switch driving modes on the go allows you to easily overcome steep ascents and descents without fear for the stability of the vehicle.
- Professional shock absorbers for comfortable rides on highways and rocky terrain. Starting in 2022, most of the manufacturer's models are equipped with FOX Performance, which brings the ride comfort of the Outlander series models closer to direct competitors from Polaris.
- Professional fuel supply and injection system. The latest generation injector allows you to save up to 20% fuel, compared to models before 2016. Now, with a full 20-liter tank (for example, in the BRP Outlander 650), you can easily cover 130–150 km with mixed driving.
In general, the Outlander series is a repeated winner of various ATV competitions in various disciplines. The model has some shortcomings, but the manufacturer corrects them with the annual update of the line. Considering the cost of a brand new ATV, the series has no analogues or direct competitors in the Russian market in terms of price-quality ratio.
Advantages of the models
The key feature of the Renegade models is the presence of a liquid-cooled V-engine, combined with a transmission with electronic fuel injection. This combination provides unprecedented power and strength to the ATV. As a result, it literally “flies” through the air and easily overcomes any route.
Important! With the BRP Renegade racing models, you can be confident that it will handle any terrain with ease. This is possible with special high-pressure gas shock absorbers, as well as 5 adjustable load settings
But, of course, this ATV demonstrates maximum results on the road than off-road.
The design features of this sporty all-terrain vehicle model can be enhanced by installing additional equipment and accessories. For example, by installing a reinforced bumper on the Brp Renegade, you can not only give it a “massive” and “serious” appearance, but also improve its performance.
The suspension used in the model range deserves special attention. It is built on an exclusive lightweight frame with Surrounding Spar Technology (SST). A long double-link front suspension helps smooth out road imperfections, while the rear has an independent suspension with torsion arms and dive control levers.
BRP Renegade models can easily overcome any terrain
Attention! One of the coolest things about the Renegade is that it's race-ready out of the box. That is, you can buy it and immediately drive it without additional bells and whistles
If it is intended to be used not for racing, then it is possible to replace the wheels. For example, by installing road wheels on the Brp Renegade 2013, you can safely drive it on the highway. And if necessary, replace them with racing or off-road ones.
Manufacturer and warranty
Brp Renegade all-terrain vehicles are manufactured by Can-Am. This manufacturer has been on the ATV market since the late 1990s. The company's designers and engineers were the first to equip ATVs with TTI rear suspension, offering superior comfort in all conditions thanks to the unique arrangement of two independent pivot points.
And in 2002, it was this company that proposed producing ATV models designed for 2 people (previously this function was only available in utilitarian models).
As for the warranty, the company offers special warranty conditions for most equipment models - the BEST program. The only limitation is that this warranty can only be purchased through authorized dealers in North America.
Aluminum is widely used in the Brp Renegade range of ATVs
Domestic official dealers also have special warranty conditions. All 2007 Brp Renegade ATV models come with a 5-year extended warranty (2 years standard warranty, plus 3 additional years).
Manufacturing materials
Aluminum is used extensively throughout the range (including the wheels), making the range lighter than the iconic Outlander.
The improved coating of Brp Renegade ATVs, starting in 2009, deserves special attention. Owners of the first flagship all-terrain vehicles in the series complained that the coating was not as wear-resistant as they would like for off-road driving or racing. these complaints and wishes, and the new technology uses materials that are tougher, thicker, and more scratch-resistant.
Comfort and equipment
ATVs of the Renegade series are racing models, and therefore require special skills from the driver in high-speed and maneuverable riding. The most powerful model in the series, the Renegade 1000, is not for everyone. Beginner ATV riders are better off starting with less powerful equipment. For example, the Renegade 800R is much more manageable.
Diverse range of Renegade SUVs
The Renegade line of SUVs is diverse, and the equipment of each model differs in composition. For example, the 2022 Brp Renegade 1000 XMR ATV is equipped with a powerful winch with a lifting capacity of 1,361 tons. This is an indispensable “assistant” in off-road conditions, which is capable of pulling the car out of any mud.
For each model it is possible to purchase and install additional spare parts or accessories. For example, the additional spacious brp renegade trunk will allow you to increase the amount of luggage that you can take with you on the road.
BRP Outlander 800 – photo 2
The question has been raised more than once as to how logical it is to call all-wheel drive ATVs with luggage racks, towbars and the ability to attach a snow plow using the usual word utilitarian. Thus, in 2005, the manufacturer introduced a model with a Rotax engine designed for 800 cc, which is often used in modern ATVs, in particular in the Outlander Max 800.
Engine
All versions of the Renegade 800 differ from the competition in terms of engine performance. The 2-stroke ETEC engine is genius. It combines all the advantages (cleanliness and environmental friendliness) of 4-stroke engines with the rapid acceleration, lightness and electronic controllability of 2-stroke engines. These Rotax motors are economical, environmentally friendly, and don't smell as bad. With the proven TRA drive pulley, the engine starts at 3800 rpm and revs to 7900 rpm. You'll appreciate the smoothness and responsiveness of the ETEC engine in tight corners.
The 800cc twin-cylinder engine sends more than 160 hp to a 137-inch Ripsaw track that spins around an updated rMotion rear suspension. While Polaris focused on the design of its new Pro-XC suspension, Ski-Doo installed easily adjustable shocks, springs and links for better weight transfer. The rear axle has four wheels for maximum traction and successful landings over bumps.
Manufacturer and warranty. Owner reviews
This liquid-cooled 80-degree V-twin engine features a new, more aggressive single overhead camshaft that controls four valves per cylinder. I really like the XMR 1000; it has a long wheelbase; it’s a powerful 30 Gorilla; preventative replacement of tires or drives with reinforced ones is desirable; fuel consumption; or.

For friends. Can-Am Outlander MAX 650 XT The role of the fiery heart is traditionally played by a two-cylinder injection V-shaped liquid cooling and a CVT with engine braking function and a reduction range. Every element of this two-seater ATV hints that any ride on it will definitely be comfortable and exciting, because everything you need is already installed from the factory. |
- Lighting. More than twenty types of original lighting equipment are available to owners of all types of Outlander PDUs. Utilitarian, sports and touring models can be retrofitted with more powerful LED lamps, headlights and lenses. Additional fog lights are also available for sale, so the quality and range of light can be selected individually according to the owner’s requirements.
- Additional protection. The eternal confrontation between the Canadian BRP and the American Polaris forced the manufacturer to create several types of additional protection. Since the Americans are leaders in the production of convenient and thoughtful models in terms of comfort, the creators of BRP decided not to give up their leading position. A full series of protective covers, plastic and metal linings have been developed that can not only protect the driver and passenger from possible injuries, but also make the trip more comfortable by changing the weight of the vehicle.
- Body modernization. Enlarging the hull has always been a key desire of the owners. Discussions among drivers about the possibility of replacing the casing with a new one led to the fact that in 2022 the development of a full-fledged replacement body began, which differs not only in color, but also in more aggressive lines.
- Reinforced winch. Without exception, all BRP Can Am outlanders are equipped with professional winches from Warn, but for true enthusiasts there was always not enough engine power or cable length. That is why the manufacturer makes it possible, when purchasing a vehicle from the dealership, to order additional equipment for the vehicle with a reinforced winch from the older generation model, which is capable of pulling the ATV out of the swamps, even when it is fully loaded.
- Replaceable wheels and tires. Different models of Outlander ATVs can be sold as standard from dealers in the Russian Federation with different types of tires. For example, the true off-road X-MR series have a rougher and deeper tread pattern. Any types of wheels can be ordered from an official representative, although in addition to the classic version of disks and wheels, the manufacturer offers an original track system for driving in swamps or snow. Users liked the ability to choose the type of wheels and tires themselves, and the practice of producing several options was adopted by companies around the world.

So, I continue the theme of the 650th. Today the mileage is 165 km (8.2 engine hours). Only positive emotions and characteristics of the quad. Everything is fine, no problems (pah-pah-pah) arose. It starts in a second, no matter whether it is cold or warm. The speed gain is excellent, despite the fact that the key is still running in. On Saturday I took my wife and children for a ride, and the ride was absolutely comfortable for the three of us with our little daughter and wife: there was plenty of space. Comfort is generally on the verge of delight, where in a jeep I drive at a speed of 20 and shake, here it’s just like clockwork and driving 50-60 is safe and calm. The sons (the youngest is in the photo) are amazed, they really like it. It seems to me that a larger engine volume would be unnecessary; in my riding conditions, even 500 was enough, but, as you know, the reserve is limited. Not . no!
Much has also been written about the weak new G2 case. I really like it - large, roomy, airtight. No dust inside, no moisture even after KARCHER. The only problem is that the key is difficult to pull out.
I didn’t climb into deep mud, and I don’t plan to, but I went through several swampy areas where 4WD mode was needed without any visible difficulties. In general, I’m very pleased so far, the only thing that confuses me is:
— at the BRP-SEVER salon they said to come for the first maintenance within 300 km, and despite, like, the engine hours.
— in the instructions — either 10 hours or 300 km
— I found information on the website that only 10 engine hours, otherwise it will be canceled under warranty.
WHAT TO BE, tell me.
I was also told not to look at the engine clock. The point is that engine hours come 100% before mileage. Specifically, I have 8 engine hours, which is approximately 100 km. I don't drive fast on bad roads. If I walk the same route, taking into account the ratio 10 mph = 300 km, then only the frame that I drag on myself will finish. Most dealers understand this fact. It’s not beneficial for them that people travel like that. they will sweat for a guarantee to work.
but in general, 10 mph = 300 km, provided the primer is excellent. I don’t know how it is in Canada or in Pindosia, but we don’t have such roads. Even asphalt is such a rarity here)))

ATV Can-Am Outlander 800R X mr
We started with the fact that among the “pros for the trophy” the monster produced by Can-Am is not the only one, but its competitor Arctic Cat cannot boast of one very important technical solution - namely, a radiator placed on the front trunk. Can you imagine the heat dissipation from a powerful motor of such an immodest volume? How quickly do the radiator honeycombs become covered with dirt if its normal place is behind the front bumper? Then the following happens. Insufficient cooling leads to constant overheating of the engine, which calls for repairs. And this is unpleasant, time-consuming and expensive, because spare parts for branded quads are very, very expensive. However, enough theory. Let's move on to the test.
THE MAIN THING IS WHEELS The off-road performance of an ATV is largely determined by the tires, so there are 30-inch wheels, identical on the front and rear, 9 inches wide. Although the lug size of Gorilla Axle Silverback tires is simply monstrous. I couldn’t even believe that such rollers were capable of providing at least some controllability on hard ground. The reality exceeded expectations: this heavy quad rode normally at speeds typical for advanced touring. Moreover, thanks to the electric booster, it turned out to be surprisingly easy to control. And the amplifier here has the correct algorithm: more speed - less gain, and vice versa.
To be honest, for some time now the thought that, for example, you could get stuck here doesn’t make me feel any optimism. Although with experience comes a certain sense of the ground. I see that ahead there is grass, characteristic of swampy swamps, and the relief is dropping a little - yeah, it smells like a winch here. So, what are we going to cling her to? But such thoughts appear only when driving standard ATVs, because this yellow all-terrain vehicle gives rise to a feeling of permissiveness. And what’s nice is that the elastic arch extensions prevent dirt from flying onto the pilot. True, when you turn the steering wheel, small scraps still reach their goal.
The most interesting tests were on the edge of a flooded swamp. Despite its impressive weight, the quad most likely has positive buoyancy due to the huge and relatively light wheels. But it’s not worth sitting on it when crossing water obstacles, because, firstly, it’s extra pounds, which also increases the center of gravity, and secondly, it’s very unstable. A small current is enough for the quadric to proudly float upward with its toothy wheels. As for protection from water, the snorkel system from the variator and engine air intake is located at the highest point of the front trunk. And in general, everything was thought out, so after numerous swims the headlights didn’t even fog up.
It looks like even a beginner who buys this device will immediately become comfortable in the company of experienced mud diggers. The main thing is to decide to pay more than seven hundred thousand rubles for it. After all, in the “most expensive serial utility vehicle” category, our test subject is wearing the leader’s yellow jersey.
CAUTION TECHNICAL DETAILS
The engine of the Can-Am Outlander 800R X mr is an already well-known two-cylinder 800 cc fuel-injected engine. The transmission uses a CVT with reduction gear. The front differential is equipped with Visco-Loc QE locking. The drives are reinforced, as are the hubs. To reduce unsprung masses, brake mechanisms are installed on the drives at the point where they exit the gearbox. Winch – BRP XL3000 Warn. The suspension uses four Fox Racing Shox gas shock absorbers, providing six options for adjusting stiffness. Moreover, you can change the stiffness on the fly. There is also a hose for inflating the wheels.
