BRP Lynx Xtrim Commander LTD 600 E-TEC is one of the most extreme snowmobiles on the world market. This machine stands out clearly against the background of other utilitarian class snowmobiles. The car, manufactured by Canadian developers, incorporates advanced technical solutions focused on comfort, convenience, handling and speed. The developers are targeting this model at professional users, as well as fishermen, hunters and active riding enthusiasts. The equipment has successfully proven itself under high loads, in conditions of extremely high and low ambient temperatures, as well as when transporting heavy cargo containers. The high capabilities of this model were confirmed during testing with the participation of factory pilots, as well as real users.
The BRP Links Extreme Commander 600 model is based on the proven REV-XU platform, which has significant improvements compared to previous versions. First of all, this is a reinforced and lightweight platform design - thanks to this, it was possible to reduce the overall weight of the machine and improve the quality of handling. Among other improvements, we note A-shaped arms in the suspension, complemented by an anti-roll bar. This component replaces the outdated telescopic system. The front shock absorbers can be adjusted in height within a range of 210 mm. The above-described advantages of the chassis improve directional stability when driving on uneven surfaces, and also provide a smooth ride and responsive steering response. The rear shock absorbers have a wider range of adjustments, amounting to 340 mm. Thanks to this, the BRP Links Extreme Commander 600 snowmobile is suitable for traveling on forest roads, as well as in loose and deep snow. You can also move on well-groomed roads without any problems.
Features of the equipment that provided it with high driving and functional capabilities:
- Powerful powerplant from the Rotax E-TEC family
- Ski extensions
- Extended tracks
- High lugs
- Possibility of adjusting the steering column height
- Handrails for driver and passenger.

Separately, we note the special shape of the steering wheel, which has a curved layout and is complemented by a so-called mountain sling. In addition, we note the ergonomic arrangement of switches, levers and buttons that are at hand and do not need to be reached for. Driving the car is very convenient thanks to the height adjustment of the steering wheel and seat, and thanks to this you can drive sitting or standing. This feature is very relevant for professional testers, athletes and extreme driving enthusiasts. The weight of the structure is evenly distributed across the front, center and rear of the snowmobile. This ensures perfect balance and good directional stability. Let's pay attention to the elongated track, which allows you to effectively overcome any unevenness in the road and move along steep slopes without fear of slipping and slipping. Due to the high lugs, the Canadian developer guarantees easy movement on off-road areas, including icy and snowy road surfaces. It must be admitted that in such conditions the BRP Lynx Extreme Commander 600 snowmobile is one of the best in its price category. It is capable of transporting heavy cargo containers in any road conditions, and even in the presence of serious obstacles.
An important role was played by the one-piece chassis and sloping tunnel - these features allow the installation of a narrower seat, which maintains a more natural riding position. In addition, thanks to this seat, the driver is not pushed from side to side when cornering, since he is firmly fixed in one position. This seat is included in the basic package. By the way, under it (under the seat) there is a spacious luggage compartment for transporting a variety of luggage, objects and belongings. A passenger seat can be ordered as an option.
The car is equipped with updated skis, which feature a proprietary Blade XC blade, which ensures precision cornering, and steering wheel movement does not require much effort. The total weight of the skis is reduced by 2.2 kg compared to standard Blade skis. The snowmobile is equipped with an informative and understandable display. The windshield has been modified - it has become taller to protect the driver's face from headwinds and snow.
Basic equipment elements:
- Steel steering wheel with driver and passenger handrails
- Heated steering grips
- Heated grips for driver and passenger
- Towbar
- Electric starter
- Rearview mirror
- Information dashboard showing various indicators.
The lineup
The BRP Scandic 600 snowmobile is considered one of the best models of the manufacturer. The basic version is the WT version, which is available with a lever or telescopic suspension. The lever design is characterized by a very smooth ride and good cross-country ability, while the second type is more suitable for hard driving both off-road and on a sports track.
The main difference between the SVT modified tracks is a new type of shock absorbers, an improved engine, a caterpillar track and a more durable suspension. All these elements together make it more stable and passable on almost any surface. At the same time, the truck is characterized by good efficiency.
SKANDIC SWT 600 E-TEC
This model can rightfully be called the best in the Scandic line. The truck is capable of not only pulling cargo sleds weighing more than 750 kg, but also driving quickly through deep snow. Another important factor in favor of this snowmobile is the powerful, but at the same time economical engine - Rotax HO E-TEC. This unit is installed on the 2022 model.
SKANDIC SWT 600 ACE
This modification is optimized specifically for operation at extremely low temperatures. The motor is somewhat weaker than E-TEK, but has a good margin of safety. The basic package also includes a heated gas trigger and steering wheel, and a high and durable windshield. In general, in terms of equipment, this model is similar to the previous one.
SKANDIC SWT 600 SUV
The model is equipped with a modern wishbone suspension. Thanks to this, the truck becomes more obedient and controllable on any track. However, such a suspension has some disadvantages - branches and other objects can cling to it while driving. In this regard, it is inferior to the structurally simpler telescopic suspension.
Engine
The snowmobile is equipped with a two-stroke liquid-cooled engine, which effectively protects internal combustion engine components from overheating at air temperatures above zero degrees. The valve arrangement is represented by proprietary 3D Rave technology. The engine of the 600 E-TEC family has a displacement of 600 cc. cm and develops 115 horsepower. The electronic direct injection system is a worthy replacement for the outdated carburetor system. It uses the fuel mixture more efficiently and rationally, while maintaining high economic and environmental performance. The twin-cylinder layout uses lightweight materials that reduce engine weight, thereby reducing the overall weight of the sled.

Reviews
- Anatoly, Tver region. This is a very special device, when you sit down in it you immediately want to press on the gas and rush off somewhere very far away - fortunately, a large fuel tank is specially provided for this. The car develops 120 horsepower, and at the same time is a very economical and comfortable transport. By the way, the device consumes approximately 26 liters per 120 kilometers. In terms of dynamic qualities, this model is noticeably superior to similar priced analogues. Over the two years of operation, I have not identified any particular problems.
- Sergey, Belgorod. I have extremely positive impressions of the BRP Links Commander 600 snowmobile. The device is well assembled and has good maintainability. The parts fit evenly, there is no play or creaking. Well, except that the motor makes noise under load, but this is nonsense. The driving position is comfortable and comfortable; thanks to the adjustments, you can drive sitting or standing. The basic kit includes an electric starter that allows you to start the engine with one click. But once there was a case when it was not possible to start the internal combustion engine in this way. But in this case I used a manual starter - it’s good that this component was available, otherwise I would have had to call a tow. In terms of acceleration performance, this model is close to sports cars. The snowmobile is so fast that in a year of use I easily covered more than a thousand kilometers. I was pleased with the standard tracks without spikes - they are grippy and do not slip on icy roads, and this is very convenient for moving across a frozen lake.
- Andrey, Nizhny Novgorod region. I used to drive a Viking that I didn't want to part with, but I had to sell this old car while it was still in good condition. My new Commander 600 impressed me mainly due to its precise handling and ability to avoid serious obstacles such as trees and rocks. Fuel consumption does not exceed 25 liters per 100 km. The power of 120 horses is enough to accelerate over 100 km/h. At the same time, the car makes a lot of noise, and the vibrations transfer to the steering column, and this causes inconvenience. An additional passenger can be placed on the seat, but in this case there is no need to expect comfort - it will be very crowded, since the driver and passenger will push and touch each other, especially on jumps and trampolines. This certainly distracts you from the road, especially at high speeds. In general, the car takes some getting used to. This is my second month using it.
Owner reviews
- Sergey, Yekaterinburg: BRP Lynx Commander 800 R E-TEC is a very special device. When you sit on it, you immediately want to press the gas to the fullest and rush forward. For all its incredible power, the snowmobile is very economical and comfortable. I measured the flow rate several times. At 126 km it was approximately 26 liters, which is a little more than 20.5 liters per 100 km. The measurements were taken while driving on normal snow. In terms of dynamics and speed, the BRP Lynx Commander 800 R E-TEC is a rocket with easy controls. At the same time, the snowmobile is also incredibly reliable. In 2 years of use there were no breakdowns at all.
- Taiga beast: First impressions of using the BRP Lynx Commander 800 R E-TEC are extremely positive. All the parts fit together perfectly, nothing makes noise anywhere, and you feel as comfortable as possible in the seat. The engine starts with one click, the sound is even. During the warm-up process, information appears on the display; when the message goes out, you can drive. Acceleration is like a sports snowmobile. The difference with other models is huge. In the first year of operation I drove a little more than 1000 km. I used a snowmobile with a standard track without studs and was not disappointed. The device went everywhere without any effort. It’s too early to talk about reliability, but so far I haven’t noticed any disadvantages.
- Kent 111: Used to drive a Viking. The Commander is incredibly good in comparison. At first I couldn’t get used to such speed; at the start I even lifted my skis. Accelerated the snowmobile up to 160 km/h. In this case, the steering always remains normal. I didn't really like the position of the glass; it seemed a little low. Snezhik is very balanced and maneuverable. The 44th hook on the track helps a lot (as on mountain models). Thanks to this, the device goes everywhere. The Commander is a mixture of sports and mountain utility. Snezhik will appeal to anyone who is at least somewhat familiar with this type of technology, but the price tag for it is very high. And this is the only drawback of the Commander.
- User without nickname: Traveled only 250 km on the BRP Lynx Commander 800 R E-TEC. It’s too early to draw any serious conclusions, so I’ll share my general impressions. I almost always rode the snowflake together with a friend. We climbed everywhere, drove through the steppes and through the forest. The commander walks calmly along any road. I got up only once, it happened on virgin soil while moving uphill. I had to trample the caterpillar and go back. In the end, we left and drove on. Consumption is around 20 liters per hundred, I personally am satisfied with this figure. The speed characteristics are beyond praise, as is the build quality.
