Reviews from Irbis LH owners
IRBIS LX, 2013
IRBIS LX 50 cc red, was purchased in June 2013. I have long been sick of motorcycles, but before buying a serious motorcycle, it was decided to learn on a scooter. The seating position is very comfortable, the shaped seat is more designed for the driver, but the “second number” is also very comfortable. Due to the fact that it is possible to place your feet on the front wall, the driver can lounge as if on a sofa. Under the seat of the IRBIS LX there is a fairly large trunk. A helmet, of course, won’t fit there, but essentials are accommodated with a bang. There is also a glove compartment under the steering wheel. The scooter is equipped with a standard alarm system with auto start (I have never used it). The shock sensor works as it should, and the alarm blocks the starter. She screams quite loudly and unusually. Driving performance: 50cc engine produces maximum power of 4.7 hp. at 7000 rpm, and accelerates quite briskly. At a traffic light, the IRBIS LX clearly moves ahead of the entire flow of cars (considering that in normal conditions no one moves away with a whistle). Maximum speed 85 km/h according to GPS with a rider weight of 70 kg (plus 90 kg scooter weight). The speedometer shows 75 maximum speed, but it picks it up quite quickly and maintains this driving pace quite confidently. A full tank of gasoline costs 100 rubles (3.6 liters), and you can drive 110-130 km (depending on driving style). Controls: very convenient. Very responsive steering wheel. Weaving through traffic jams on the IRBIS LX is a pleasure. But there is also a drawback, it is a small ground clearance. When making a sharp turn, it is possible to catch the running board on the road. The only thing that upset me is that the lamps burn out quickly. The lowest power I could find were 36w lamps, but there was no positive effect. They shine the same as standard ones, and dim at idle.
Advantages
: There are undoubtedly more pros than cons.
Flaws
: flying springs. The red color on the saddle has faded over the season. From time to time you have to tighten the rear brake. When starting, you need to add gas. The small glove compartment is not very well made. Low ground clearance.
IRBIS LX, 2014
Perhaps my experience will be useful to someone. I encountered a stable recurring problem - after a long period of parking (the first time this happened was when I went on vacation for a couple of weeks) - it won’t start. Well, everything is fine - there is gasoline, the gasoline is good, it flows into the carburetor, the spark plug is working, the starter turns. But everything is useless. Or it happens like this - it starts, but stalls on its own or when you try to increase the speed. Service - they don’t know anything, they didn’t advise anything. I found the reason myself - condensation accumulates in the carburetor. Now I pulled the IRBIS LX out of the garage after winter storage - pumped it up a little with a kick, “shuffled” it once with the starter - it won’t start. Everything is clear - I remove the rear wing, two screws on each side - and then on the right through the wheel you can reach with a long screwdriver to the screw on the bottom of the carburetor - there, a rubber tube is put on the drain fitting. I unscrewed it and drained everything that was there. Spun it. I pressed the starter button and it started the first time.
Scooters "Irbis": reviews and photos
Irbis scooters are considered by many to be a godsend for the motorcycle market. They appeared on it in 2009 and confidently won the hearts of domestic users. Beautiful and reliable, they have rightly earned a reputation as high-quality equipment at an affordable price, which is important for many Russians.
general information
The Irbis scooter is positioned as a small-sized motorcycle with a stylish design, beautiful colors and availability of spare parts.
Today, any specialized store offers a fairly large list of two-wheeled vehicles. But the Irbis scooter, the photo of which is proof of this, immediately catches the eye, attracting the attention of even the most demanding buyer.
This equipment is produced in China by the fairly well-known brand Irbis Motors. It is interesting that Russian engineers, who are better aware of the quality of domestic roads and the peculiarities of weather conditions, also take part in its creation. Modern developments and high-quality materials are used in production, and modern solutions that allow the creation of these two-wheeled motorcycles give excellent results.
Advantages
Without a doubt, one of the main characteristics that distinguish Irbis scooters is their attractive design. Streamlined shapes and bright colors, a large number of original details - all this makes this Chinese two-wheeled vehicle very beautiful in appearance and memorable in terms of decoration. The main advantage of each of the models of this brand is increased maneuverability, which is especially important for driving in urban conditions. In addition, Irbis scooters are compact. The driver will always be able to get through them even in very dense traffic jams.
Each vehicle from this manufacturer is equipped with a durable shock absorber and an excellent braking system. Irbis scooters are very simple and easy to operate. Many people drive them not only on city streets, but also go out on them, for example, fishing or to the country.
Characteristics
The Irbis scooter is equipped with a standard suspension layout. In the front part, the creators used a telescopic fork, and in the rear part they used a pendulum design with two spring-hydraulic shock absorbers. Scooter wheels are the same size in all models. At the same time, the disc brake mechanism in this motorcycle is installed in front.
The basic equipment of all Irbis scooter models includes an alarm system with remote start, rear mirrors, a dashboard with a clock display and a parking step.
Prices
The price at which Irbis scooters from the manufacturer of the same name are sold is attractive due to its affordability: it is aimed at Russian buyers with average incomes. And therefore, all the advantages and features, combined with a favorable price, ultimately play a positive role in the choice. Today, many Russians purchase Irbis scooters for a variety of purposes.
The average price of this mid-size equipment from a Chinese manufacturer, for example, Irbis FR, in dealer showrooms in our country starts from thirty-three thousand rubles.
Universal models
The company constantly offers customers new modifications. A large assortment of these Chinese scooters allows any consumer to easily choose the right model for themselves.
Young people will appreciate the performance and dynamics of the latest modifications, for example, the Irbis Nirvana scooter (150 cc). For those who like to travel within the city, classic options are ideal. And off-road models are real helpers for rural areas.
The company's developments include Irbis scooters with engine capacities from fifty to one hundred and seventy cubic centimeters.
The most popular are universal models. Irbis scooters, which feel confident both within the city and outside the city, are gaining more and more popularity in Russia. One of them is the Irbis FR model, which looks simple in appearance, has classic contours on the body, as well as a round massive muffler with simple turn signals and flexible struts. The most stylish design elements that this Irbis scooter (50 cm3) has are its twelve-inch wheels and the original instrument panel.
Irbis FR
In terms of dimensions, it can be classified as a mid-size two-wheeler. From the model range of options with an engine capacity of fifty cubic meters. centimeters, it is the most popular in our country. Its length is 1820 and its width is 680 with a height of 1150 millimeters. The dry weight of this scooter is eighty-seven kilograms. Its fuel tank holds no more than five liters of gasoline.
The technical content of this scooter is impressive: Irbis FR is equipped with a four-stroke single-cylinder engine with a displacement of 50 cm3. The peak power of this two-wheeler is 3.5 hp: this allows it to accelerate to 60 km per hour. The engine has a forced air cooling system, carburetor power, electric start, compatibility with a V-belt variator and an automatic centrifugal clutch. Today, the domestic market offers consumers products that suit every budget and taste, including Irbis scooters.
Reviews
Some fans of mid-size two-wheeled vehicles feel that Chinese production is of low quality. And first of all, this concerns the assembly of Irbis brand scooters. It is believed that bolts are the main problem with this motorcycle.
However, few people know that Chinese scooters from Irbis are supplied to our country in semi-disassembled form. And already locally - in dealership centers - they are collected in order to put them up for sale. Therefore, if sellers perform the assembly process irresponsibly, then it is possible that during operation one of the bolts will not unscrew. Many reviews recommend that before purchasing a scooter, you should clarify and check in the store how the fasteners are tightened and additionally check them yourself after purchase.
Scooters imported under this brand have long earned the title of reliable and simple motorcycle equipment produced in the best Chinese factories. This is a technique with a bright design and quite memorable appearance. Judging by the reviews, those who drive Irbis scooters always attract the amazed and admiring glances of passers-by on the street. According to many, it is the ideal characteristics of almost all models that allow this small-sized equipment to gain great popularity among Russian buyers.
But the most important distinguishing feature of Irbis scooters is the availability of almost all of their parts. Constantly maintaining an assortment of spare parts for any model of scooter equipment imported to our country means that consumers will not have any problems in such matters as post-warranty repairs.

Review of Irbis LX 50
The sporty design of the scooter catches your eye at first glance: its similarity to a sports bike sets Irbis apart from its competitors. Large front optics are not only a decoration of the model, but also excellent lighting equipment, illuminating the road at night. The maximum speed of the scooter is 90 km/h, which is quite good for motor vehicles of this category. The motorcycle is a two-seater, there is additional space for a passenger, but the extra load affects the acceleration dynamics.
The Irbis XL 50 is equipped with off-road 12-inch tires, which increases its cross-country ability and allows you to move on dirt roads, and a two-stroke carburetor engine paired with an electronic ignition system.
Motorcycle Irbis Intruder 200 (irbis intruder) -
The well-known company Irbis has been actively producing new products for the Russian consumer for several years; there are already several dozen models on the company’s website. One of them is the Irbis Intruder 200 motorcycle, which we will review below.
At first glance, you might think that the motorcycle was invented in a hurry, and the designer’s hand was not there, but in fact, the new product has all the necessary parts that fit together perfectly and perform the main functions. Given the presence of cross-country tires and the shape of a simple motorcycle, it is difficult to position the equipment as a sports bike or enduro, but the manufacturer assures that this is a military-style off-road vehicle that is perfect for country trips through nature and difficult terrain. Please note that the intruder is not intended for city driving; tires with high tread simply will not allow this. But the problem is easily solved after changing to regular road tires.
pros
- excellent off-road tires;
- low cost;
- excellent engine power;
- low gasoline consumption;
- reliable suspension and strong shock absorbers.
Minuses
- ugly appearance;
- not suitable for highway use;
- tires will not drive through sand and other difficult roads.
Characteristics of Irbis Intruder 200
For anyone who wants to purchase an Irbis Intruder 200, the price will be in the foreground, but the characteristics play an important role, because they must correspond to the cost of the motorcycle. The motorcycle engine has 1 cylinder and operates in 4 strokes, as befits a Chinese engine, air cooling. The power declared by the manufacturer is 14.3 hp, which allows you to go outdoors and out of town. Irbis products are distinguished by the presence of high-quality engines, so the Irbis Intruder 200 is no exception. With a small amount of plastic and a simple motor design, its repair and operation are quite simple. Reviews of the snow leopard intruder show that when driving over 80 km/h the suspension suffers, but this does not affect the ride quality.
The thrust and engine capacity of 200 cubic meters is enough for two people to ride, so you can take a friend along for the ride. Tests and numerous examples from owners show that the equipment can cope with mud, forest roads and other similar difficulties. The presence of front disc and rear drum brakes allows you to brake confidently even at high speeds, the distribution occurs evenly.
Fans of cross-country motorcycles of Chinese origin should definitely look at the review of the Orion Avantis Pitbike.
Appearance
To many, the appearance of a motorcycle seems simple and tasteless, but if you carry out a certain inspection, you can reveal several positive aspects. The fact is that the motorcycle is trying to be as similar to an enduro as possible, so it has acquired a simple minimal design, the presence of only the necessary plastic and high-quality wheels with a diameter of 18 inches. What makes the motorcycle as similar to the enduro class as possible is the presence of guards on the handlebars, excellent ground clearance and a large trunk. You can attach large things to it and go on a trip.
By the way, for those who like to drive on public roads, the manufacturer has installed rear-view mirrors. On the large tank with a volume of 13.9 liters you can find the “Intruder” logo. In addition, it was decided to install hand protection and headlights, which fit perfectly into the overall design of the model. A reliable suspension is responsible for high-quality off-road movement; the front fork has reinforced shock absorbers that help compensate for kickback on difficult roads.
Pay attention to another representative of the Irbis company - the Irbis Virago 110 motorcycle.
Today, the Irbis brand is engaged in the sale of various motorcycle equipment; for 2016, the current price of the Irbis Intruder is 78,000 rubles; when the model first appeared in Russia, its cost was around 55,000 rubles, which is quite good for a 200 cc motorcycle.

Review of Irbis RZR 170 (2012)
Finally found the time to write about my handsome snow leopard! For some reason there is no such model on the website, although happy and not so happy owners of this Chinese miracle have probably been roaming our roads for about 5 years now.
In 2013, the requirements for the purchased scooter were the following: a maximum speed of at least 80 in order to go on the highway and a good braking system, preferably a disc one. For a long time I was tormented by the choice - to take the old Japanese or the new Chinese, but remembering what Henry Ford bequeathed to us, that the best car is a new car, I thought that this formula could also be applied to scooters. The 170cc model had just appeared in the city, I was among the top ten who purchased them in Novosibirsk. I paid 50,000 for the scooter. Standardly there is an Irbisovskaya signaling system with remote start, although without feedback, a 12V cigarette lighter, a case (cool by the way), two sets of keys with key fobs, a set of keys for minor maintenance and a passport. In addition, I bought a trunk case, I’ll tell you more about it below. They promised a year of warranty or 3000 km, whichever comes first. I successfully blew the warranty by driving a little more than the required 200 km.
Now regarding the device itself. What is definitely good about it:
1. quite powerful engine, with a piston increased by 20 cubic meters from the factory
2. excellent cooling system (oil radiator in front)
3. comfortable seat for two people
4. well-placed air filter (it stands high, almost under the seat itself, so dust practically does not fly into it from the road)
5. Awesome design (everyone looks around)
6.Good Duro tires with a large tread (they haven’t worn out in three seasons)
7. High-quality plastic, strong fit of parts, nothing creaks or falls off
8. Quite durable chassis, even 200 kg can be carried calmly, does not break through anything or burst
9. Having a tachometer is important.
Now about the unpleasant stuff. After three years of operation, I still haven’t been able to bring the rear brake to perfection - at first it seemed like they were installed incorrectly during assembly, then they were either poorly pumped or something, but in general, I still don’t use the rear brake, but I slow down :((
About the head lighting - there is practically none! Those filthy lamps that come from the factory don't give a damn light! There’s no point in killing yourself in this kind of lighting, so for the second season I couldn’t resist and stuck in some cool 2.5” bi-xenon lenses with “angel eyes”, you can see it in the photo. I recommend doing the same and not having to suffer. For a motorcycle driver, road lighting is a vital factor.
The battery - a standard 7 Amp acidizer had to be replaced with a 10 Amp AGM - xenon eats a lot!
The instrument panel is illuminated by standard lamps a little more than not at all, so I recommend putting white LEDs there. The electrics are well made, nothing oxidizes anywhere and the plugs do not fall off. There is access to almost all electrical components; you can get to anything.
There is an emergency mode, which is definitely a plus. The signal is LOUD :)))
Frame. Good strong frame. Brewed to last. You’re driving 90 km/h and you’re not afraid that everything will fall apart right now. There are two footrests - a side stand and a central footrest. I never put it on the side, I’m afraid that the skein might fall over, so I can take it off for the pigs.
The mirrors seem large and massive, but they are of no use. After breaking one mirror, I installed mirrors from an ordinary small scooter like Suzuki Let's. They are cheap - 300 rubles. By the way, they were also stolen later, so, having learned from bitter experience, I began to twist the mirrors at night and specially carry the key with me:\
Speaking of safety in terms of theft - I always advise you to take either a chain or a longer cable in your glove compartment and hook it in a cunning way - you buy a lock with a long shackle and pass the shackle through the brake disc, then hang the loops of the chain or cable on the lock and then snap it into place. Here's a life hack :))) Even if they bite the cable with pliers, you won't be able to bite off the lock shackle with pliers; you need a bolt cutter, and not every villain thief has a bolt cutter in his pocket :))) And I advise you to ALWAYS hook the scooter to the cable, even if you go to the store for 2 minutes. If they steal horseradish, whoever is looking for it, you can believe it. You can even buy two of these locks and hang them on the rear disc too. Make it more difficult for the hijackers, and maybe they’ll give up!
Now to the question of the case. Here it is necessary because firstly, it looks awesome with it, and secondly, a sealed trunk will never be superfluous! But it’s better to take a case made of metal because I remade my ENTIRE rogue plastic case!!! And the lock and seat and hinges. They tried to pick some radishes TWICE from my trunk (apparently they thought there were countless miles in there), but it was crap - I prudently reinforced the bottom of the trunk with a steel sheet! And the landing platform, as a result of my manipulations, almost turned into a part from a battleship :))
By the way, the standard trunk platform on the RZR is made simply from ****! Apart from this, what else is there to turn over a horseradish weighing 120 kg? And it bursts right after welding! If you are interested, write to [email protected] and I will send you photos of how and what has been converted for normal use.
Engine. The engine does not overheat. In general, it is impossible to overheat it unless, of course, there is oil there. Thanks to the oil radiator in front. The engine itself was used for only 2 seasons, on the third there was something knocking, it turned out that the connection between the piston and connecting rod - the so-called pin was broken. I had to change the piston assembly - they got it from Yamaha, they have the same diameter. Cost 10,000
In the second season, the key of the electric starter drive broke and, without engaging, it spun idle and hummed vilely. I had to remove the entire engine along with the wheel, look for a key (of course there was no such thing anywhere), and sharpen the key from a Zhiguli on a machine. The electric starter on this scooter is good, but the kickstarter is rubbish. He clotted a lot of blood for me. Before that, there was a Lec, so there I didn’t know the grief with the start - I kicked it - everything started up, but then there’s always some kind of crunch, there’s no engagement at all, the pedal falls somewhere, in general, the Chinese have pretty much screwed up something here.
Consumption is low - a 6-liter tank is enough for 100 kilometers or more, depending on the road and how you turn the trigger. In a quiet driving mode, he eats very little. The variator - in stock, performs its function normally, but this is in the case of a quiet ride without showing off. If you want to drive, install SportKit. I will definitely bet.
The stock varicose really doesn’t like long climbs and driving through mud (low speed, high revs) and gets so hot that it stops pulling. You have to stop and wait until it cools down. Despite all this, on a good road, the scooter takes two healthy men up such climbs - mom, don’t worry! But this scooter behaves unpredictably on dirt - it’s not made for it! It might throw you unexpectedly. Be careful on slippery surfaces such as wet primer and rotten leaves! In a straight line, it rushes through the mud well - fortunately the wheels are wide and toothy and there is enough stupidity in the engine, but this is only if you need to overcome a small area. This scooter is for the city! In traffic jams, it’s like a fish in water - I raced along with sportsbikes in the aisles and, in principle, did not lag behind thanks to the lower weight, good maneuverability and lower seating position (the center of gravity here is well balanced, this cannot be taken away).
Now about legality. Of course, a scooter of this size requires a license of category A. Well, insurance, license plates, state duty and other “joys”. But I would advise you to formalize all this, because running away from the Haitians like a hare is somehow not a good idea for a respectable motorcyclist. I've already run mine, I'm tired. I want to calmly enjoy riding a motorcycle with a girl, say number two, etc., and not shake in horror when I see a car with red and blue flashing lights in the distance. Get legalized and ride in peace! And never, hear, NEVER get behind the wheel of a motorcycle without a helmet! And don’t carry a passenger without a helmet, no matter what! No matter how much he begs you! Even if it's not far! The helmet has already saved my life once. If it weren't for the helmet, I wouldn't be sitting here typing this review right now. And of course, once you’ve drunk and got behind the wheel of a scooter, it’s the same Russian roulette, for everyone around you too, not just for you. Remember this
I forgot what else... here it is! I ordered and installed an on-board voltmeter on the dashboard, ran the wires directly to the battery, inserted the toggle switch and now all I have to do is flip the toggle switch and I can see the current voltage of the on-board network before my eyes! Beauty! What else should you be afraid of - under the bottom where the battery is located, along the very bottom, oil hoses stretch to the front oil cooler - so if you hit the scooter with its belly on a curb or something else, these hoses can be torn and it will be sad. Although, of course, they come in a twisted steel braid, but something tells me that if there is a good impact on the curb, this will not save the hoses.
The plastic underbody protection fell off in the first season. I'll probably stick a sheet of metal in there. Yes, here’s another thing I didn’t like: there is a cigarette lighter, it’s a blast! Where is your purse or pocket? The Irbis Nirvana seems to have a glove box for this purpose, but then boom! So I want to charge my phone on the road, and where should I charge it? on knees? hold in your hands? Not thought out. I got out of the situation by tightening the spring under the steering wheel and, if necessary, hang a sealed bag for the navigator there. If anyone is interested in what kind of HEX this is, write to me and I’ll send you pictures. So here it is, the Chinese IRBIS RZR170!!!
For the power of the engine and the proud design with the stern squinting of the headlights, you forgive all the factory imperfections, pick up the tool and “finish it with a file.” As I understand it, this machine is for those who are already tired of weak “poltos” and want to go on business at minimal cost and perhaps with a passenger, but see no reason to buy an expensive to maintain and heavy bike.
Good luck on the roads, fellow motorcyclists!
Reviews of Irbis LX 50
Motorcyclists consider the main advantage of the Irbis scooter to be its cross-country ability and the ability to operate both within the city and off-road. The engine power is enough for fast and maneuverable driving: in a straight line, the moped can be accelerated to 75-80 km/h, provided there is no strong headwind. The LX 50 travels quite long distances of several tens of kilometers confidently, does not overheat and is not characterized by high fuel consumption: on average, 4.5 liters are consumed per 100 kilometers with a full fuel tank of 6 liters.
The oil in the gearbox must be changed every 500 kilometers; the air filter practically does not become dirty while driving in urban areas and does not require special operating and maintenance conditions.
The braking system of the Irbis LX 50, according to the owners, is excellent: the scooter stops quickly and smoothly from any speed and on any road surface, including slippery and wet ones.
The moped is incredibly light and comfortable to control and easily overcomes dirt roads. The steering wheel does not move to the side even when overcoming sections of the road with mud.
The seating position is comfortable; additional comfort is provided by the small backrest. During the trip, your legs can be either bent or extended. The instrument panel and controls are ergonomic and are at hand: tachometer, speedometer, oil and fuel level sensors, hazard warning button.
