The motorcycle was produced by the Izhevsk Machine-Building Plant from 1987 to 2008.

As a result, the same trouble began, the coils began to burn, no one could “give it some sense”, because everyone was “professionals” they already did everything that they knew, but nothing worked until I put it in the hands of a wonderful man who had ridden on scoops all his life, done everything, rode a motorcycle for a season without a single breakdown, the motorcycle is very versatile, able to take you at any time , to any place, the suspension is good for our roads, the potholes are not particularly noticeable, the engine is very strong at the bottom, of course you need to get used to the engine itself and its noise, which is what I later did. The motorcycle is very reliable, it has never failed anywhere, not in the frost of the night, not on a hot summer day. And although at first I was quite skeptical about the “Motosovkoprom”, after one season I realized that all the myths about the unreliability of our Soviet motorcycles, in fact, are nothing more than myths, you just need to at least basicly monitor the motorcycle, do everything as indicated in the manual, and then both he and the owner will be happy. So, the season was over and a frosty, rainy autumn came, there was no desire to ride, because the dampness and cold wind were hitting me in the face, the rest of the steel horses were already being preserved, and this friend was still standing in the garage and looking at me every times when I went into this very garage, without hesitation, I decided to restore it, because the motorcycle was not just my good friend, but also history, because its purchase dates back to the already distant 2008, my father bought it from an old family friend, that is, in fact, I am the third owner, and maybe the second, because my father almost never drove it at all. I'll continue. The restoration lasted a long time, just like winter, on dark, frosty evenings I sat in the garage and took apart screw by screw, in the end, after completely disassembling the motorcycle, the search began for the necessary spare parts, a new Soviet (from storage) muffler and a right-hand remote control switch were purchased , a lot of consumables, cast Soviet, again, wheels, direction indicators and so on, ad infinitum. Next, assembly, tuning, and the search for problems that had not yet been resolved began, and it was also decided to immediately restore the side trailer, it was completely protected from corrosion, a 15-watt motorcycle audio system was installed in the rear luggage compartment (Alas, the generator is no longer allows), the bottom was covered with “anti-gravel”, and now it is like this, beautiful, freshly painted, with primer and varnish, a motorcycle shining in the sun. The project itself was not cheap, but I don’t regret it at all, because the attention of others, and simply the admiring glances of grandfathers, fathers, and just people who understand motorcycle equipment are worth more than any money.

I would especially like to dwell on the engine of the model. It turned out to be extremely successful and unpretentious. In later modifications of the motorcycle, the manufacturer replaced the joint lubrication system with a separate one, in which the main link was the oil pump. The device made it possible to switch the lubrication mode depending on the load characteristics of the engine in a ratio of 1 to 25 or 1 to 100. To meter the fuel supply and prepare the gasoline mixture, a K-62I carburetor was used, which was replaced by the K-65I in later modifications. The gearbox is made according to a three-shaft design in a single housing with the engine.
The frame of the IZH Planet 5 motorcycle is welded, consisting of hollow thick-walled tubes. The front suspension is dependent, telescopic, which allows you to feel quite comfortable on rough terrain. The rear suspension is independent with hydraulic shock absorbers and a working spring.
