The Chinese-made moped is equipped with a single-cylinder 50cc engine with low fuel consumption. This type of vehicle is suitable for both young and middle-aged drivers. Noteworthy are the solid design, powerful frame, sweeping outline, efficiency, reliability and reasonable price. Let's take a closer look at the features of the scooter.
"Stinger" moped - technical characteristics
The Stinger brand scooter is one of the most popular models in its class produced by a Chinese manufacturer. When you first look at the moped, you will notice the bright design of the vehicle, rich yellow color, attractive optics and sporty lines.
What are the technical characteristics of this representative of the Chinese motorcycle industry?
One of the most popular models in its class is the Stinger brand scooter.

If you are planning to purchase a Stinger moped, you should familiarize yourself with its performance characteristics. It may seem that the scooter is devoid of shortcomings. However, along with a number of advantages, this model also has weaknesses.
Let's first consider the advantages of the popular Chinese moped. Main advantages:
- modern design. Pleasant to the eye coloring of the plastic and sporty appearance make it noticeable in the general flow of vehicles;
- good optics. It is made in the style characteristic of Chinese motorcycles, and provided that powerful lamps are installed, it provides high-quality lighting;
- acceptable cost. Today, this moped, whose mass production ended in 2011, can be purchased at prices ranging from $280 to $800;
- affordable price of spare parts. If necessary, you can replace the plastic, install a crankshaft or cylinder head, at little expense;
- increased wheel size. On 14-inch slopes, the driver feels quite confident overcoming road imperfections;
- good handling. On standard Chinese tires, the scooter corners well and is quite stable on wet asphalt.

This “Chinese” is of course difficult to compare with “European” or “Japanese”, but given the significant difference in prices, its quality and reliability can be considered quite acceptable.
Having finished our laudatory odes to the next “miracle” of Chinese motorcycle technology, let’s dwell in detail on its shortcomings. What lies behind the sporty design, attractive appearance of a small scooter with a fairly economical four-stroke power unit?
Undoubtedly, the gasoline consumption declared by the manufacturer of two liters per hundred is a serious plus. However, in fact, it takes about three liters per hundred. And although this is also considered a good consumption, it cannot compensate for the low traction characteristics of the engine, insufficiently fast access to the speed limit and the weak design of the variator. Having noticed how the Stinger starts at a green traffic light together with fifty-cc “Japanese” or “Europeans”, one is struck by a feeling of deep disappointment.
A rather thoughtful variator and a small-capacity engine slowly accelerate a moped with a driver whose weight differs significantly from the maximum permissible. To improve dynamics, experienced scooter riders often tune this model by trying to install a different piston and tinkering with the compression ratio.
Considering the purely utilitarian qualities of this model, one can also blame the Chinese designers. It is not clear why, under the rather interesting plastic body kit, a more capacious container could not fit under the seat. The rather modest volume of the luggage box does not allow it to accommodate not only a helmet, but also the minimum necessary set of travel accessories.
The shape of the platform under the driver's feet is also disappointing. The presence of a small tunnel does not allow stowing a bag or using this place to transport cargo. The owner of the Stingray will have to use a backpack or install a spacious trunk in the rear trunk.
To summarize, it should be noted that despite a number of these disadvantages, the model has a set of advantages and is characterized by increased reliability, which Chinese mopeds so often lack. The scooter is suitable for beginners and experienced drivers, and will delight them with quality workmanship, reliable brakes, cheap spare parts, nice design, and an affordable price!

At the same time, the Vega was supposed to be for many buyers their first new Chevrolet and, thus, bring the brand's dealers new loyal customers who would be able to buy a more expensive car next time. To fulfill this ambitious plan, an atypical team for that time was assembled, fully responsible for the entire development - in fact, the best minds of the corporation. In the allotted time, the Vega created an innovative 4-cylinder engine with a linerless aluminum block, developed a rather elegant body in the style of the second generation Chevrolet Camaro, organized production at GM's newest exemplary plant in Lordstown (Ohio), and even introduced a unique transportation method.
