However, the Patron Sport 150 does not look like a copy of any famous Japanese model. The bike may be unprepossessing, but it is, so to speak, on its own. Whether someone in particular likes him or not is another matter.

The first thing that should alert you when buying a motorcycle that has the word “sport” in its name is the price . At the time of this writing, this bike costs on average just under a thousand dollars, which is both good and bad. It’s good because the price tag is more than affordable, but it’s bad because for that kind of money you can’t buy a real sportbike, even a small one. However, the Patron Sport 150 is de facto the most ordinary classic “ road bike ”, extremely simple and budget-friendly , and from “sport” it only has a name.

So, what do the Chinese offer us? The usual diagonal steel frame, in which a 1-cylinder, 2-valve 150 cc air-cooled engine , is extremely archaic, but, according to reviews, very reliable. It works with a carburetor , a classic 5-speed transmission and a chain wheel drive . Simple, budget-friendly, familiar, there’s simply nothing to add here. An inverted telescopic fork is installed at the front, which, by the way, is surprising given the low cost of this model. But this is a nice feature; there really are no complaints about the performance of the fork. The only criticism concerns the fork oil filled from the factory; it seems too soft. Apparently, it is designed for the weight of the average Chinese driver, and under the tall Russian motorcyclist the Patron Sport 150 immediately sags noticeably. This problem can be resolved easily and simply, just pour harder oil into the fork, and in extreme cases, install other springs; fortunately, tuning is available in bulk on the Patron Sport 150, and it is inexpensive.

Externally, the Clever 50 looks very attractive, as evidenced by its modern design, bright colors, beautiful wheels and muffler. There are original optics installed in front, mirrors on the sides, two horizontal headlights with two modes, low and high, and on the steering wheel there is a side signal and an informative instrument panel, including a speedometer, tachometer, gas tank sensor and turn signals. Despite the fact that the scooter is small in size, it has a fairly comfortable double seat, on which even a tall adult can easily sit. There is a trunk at the back and a glove compartment under the seat. Patron Clever 50 is a Chinese-made scooter, but despite this, it has a fairly rich set of equipment, which includes an alarm system and electric start from a key fob - a very convenient and necessary thing. However, Clever 50 can also be started with an electric starter or kickstarter. The engine is a 50cc, 4-stroke, forced air-cooled engine that develops 3.5 hp. It starts with half a turn, warms up quickly and runs barely audible. All you have to do is put on a motorcycle helmet and go! To be honest, this was my first time behind the wheel of a scooter, and I must say that I really enjoyed riding it. Clever 50 weighs little, both an adult and a child can easily operate it - everything is easy and simple. But as for speed, here Patron can be given a “5 plus”. Out of 50 cubes, I managed to squeeze 80 km/h in one place (slightly downhill) and put the speedometer needle down! It rides at this speed no worse than a motorcycle, and acceleration from a standstill is not bad for 3.5 hp. I also really liked the suspension. The average speed of the scooter is 50 km/h, uphill - about 40, in a straight line - all 70. Control is very easy, you don’t even have to turn the steering wheel, but maneuver your body on easy turns. The brakes on the Clever 50 are good, disc in the front, drum in the rear, and it seemed to me that the front one worked more efficiently; I pressed it lightly and the scooter stopped. True, if you brake only with the front brake, you can easily roll over. In general, after half a day of riding a scooter, I was not at all tired and got a lot of positive emotions. Despite the fact that there is still a lot of dirt on the roads, I did not get dirty, thanks to a well-thought-out protection of legs and arms. And the gasoline consumption was minimal, consumption is about 2 liters per 100 km. And the fuel tank capacity is five and a half liters, so the range is enough for more than 200 kilometers. To summarize, I would like to note that the scooter is a very convenient vehicle.
