First impressions from a test drive of the 2022 Sherco line of enduro motorcycles after the press release are an evolution, not a revolution. The motorcycle models receive upgraded engines and new rear shock absorbers with improved performance for Factory models that improve handling.
Sherco has been quietly developing and manufacturing enduro motorcycles for over 20 years. The French company has been producing enduro motorcycles since 2004 and has always gained a reputation as a competitive manufacturer.
14-13. Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 and Streetfighter 975
In 2022, the first touring Harley-Davidson, Mr. America, should appear on the market. The idea is good, but the implementation is controversial. How do you like this look? I personally have my fingers crossed that the production model will be as close to the concept as possible.
The second motorcycle that the Americans are working on is the Streetfighter 975. Harley, apart from photographs, has not revealed any information about these machines.
Electric Ducati
During a speech at the University of Bologna, Ducati's president said that the company will soon introduce an electric motorcycle.
“The future is electric. We will soon begin mass production of this motorcycle,” Domenicali said in his speech.
Domenicali made it clear that the design and testing of the electric motorcycle is in the final stages. Moreover, the technology associated with the electric drive is not alien to Ducati specialists. Let us remind you: at the end of 2022, the Italians presented an electric bicycle. So there is a possibility that the electric Ducati will hit the market in late 2022 or early 2020.
Sherco loves carbureted two-strokes
Sherco's view on the fuel-injected two-stroke engine remains the same as it has been for the last couple of years: they have it in development, but they are not ready to use it.
This is mainly due to the fact that the injection 2T is more expensive to produce, and this is naturally reflected in the price for the buyer. Another important factor is the performance, according to them, is not as good as a 2T with a carburetor, so there is no point in releasing a bike that does not perform as well as a carbureted one and costs more.
As long as manufacturers manage to meet European emissions standards (Euro 4 remains in force until 2024), they will stick to carburetors on two-stroke models.
Yamaha 3CT
Yamaha already has two three-wheelers - Tricity and Nikena. But this is not the end! Last season, the company showed a concept called 3CT. It has three wheels and a 300cc X-MAX engine. The machine is equipped with a tilt locking system TLA (Tilt Lock Assist).
It prevents the motorcycle from tipping over when parked or when driving slowly. A larger engine will allow you to travel longer distances while maintaining light weight and maneuverability. We bet that more details about this motorcycle will be revealed on November 5, 2022 during the EICMA exhibition in Milan.
Ducati Panigale V4 R

Ducati Panigale V4 R. It is equipped with a liquid-cooled Desmosedici Stradale R with a volume of 998 cm 3 . With a volume of less than 105 cc, it can compete in World Superbike (WSB) competitions. Despite its smaller capacity, the R version is more powerful than the production Panigale V4.
When it comes to equipment, the V4 R comes with extensive traction control, six-axis IMU, anti-lock ABS, quick up and down shifting, wheelie control, engine brake adjustment, multiple riding modes and DSC (Ducati Slide Control).
The Panigale V4 R demonstrates its sporting ambitions down to the last detail. The car has additional wings on the sides of the fairings. This solution was taken from Superbike and MotoGP racing. Suspension was provided by Öhlins - NPX 25-30 at the front and TTX36 shock at the rear . Braking is provided by Brembo Stylema calipers and a 330mm disc.
Power ► 221 hp at 15,250 rpm. Torque ► 112 Nm at 11,500 rpm. Weight with fluids ► 193 kg * unapproved version has 234 hp. and weight 165.5 kg (dry).
9-7. Indiana: Raven, Renegade and Challenger
Last season, the Indiana team shocked motorcyclists by showing the world a completely new machine. The FTR 1200 is a flat track motorcycle that is popular overseas. Everything seems to indicate that FTR was just the first sign of changes to come, because the Americans applied to reserve names such as: Raven, Renegade and Challanger.
The Indiana team was apparently inspired not only by the mighty Dodg Challenger, but also by the roadster - the Jeep Renegade.
If everything goes well, who knows? Perhaps at the end of 2022 we will find out what new things the oldest American brand has in store for us.
Royal Enfield KX5-4. Honda CB125X and CB125M
Late last year, Royal Enfield unveiled a prototype - the KX, which is a design that dates back to the 1937 Enfield. Trapezoidal fork, leather seat, 838 cm3 engine, fins on the cylinders and head. The motorcycle was designed in a style that can be described as neo-retro, that is, a combination of classics and modern technologies.
At the moment, the KX is just a prototype, so Royal can't boast any details. We'll have to wait a little longer. There are rumors that the car will premiere in 2020.
5-4. Honda CB125X and CB125M
In the fall of 2022, the Japanese showed two new concept motorcycles. These are the CB125X and CB125M – neo-touring and neo-naked. Unique but minimalistic cars. The basis for both projects was the CB125R.
CB125M is a naked car. Light, thin and minimalist, the motorcycle was created for urban mobility.
The Honda CB125X is an adventure machine. Sharp lines, clean shape and durable construction make it unique.
These interesting motorcycles were designed by Valerio Aiello. So far no one is saying anything about putting them into mass production. But we're betting that Honda will introduce commercial versions by the end of 2019.
Aprilia RS660
During EICMA 2022, Aprilia surprised us with a new prototype - the RS660. I bet that in 2022 the Italians will show the world a production version of the RS.
The twin-cylinder drive of the RS660 is nothing more than half of the V4 known from the Aprilia Tuono 1100, in which the Italians used only two front cylinders. At the moment, the manufacturer does not provide detailed technical data, but it can be assumed that the engine will have a power of about 100 hp. By comparison, the four-cylinder Yamaha R6 has 118 hp.
The most surprising element of the new RS is the Aprilia Active Aerodynamics system (A3 for short). By changing the position of the wind deflector elements (position and angle), it allows you to change the air flow while driving. This in turn increases downforce.
According to the data, the new Aprilia drive will not only power the RS, but also other Italian cars.
Sherco 2022 models, changes:
- On all enduro models, work has been done to reduce friction in the suspension and improve build quality to increase service life.
- Redesigned air filter housing for 250/300 two-stroke models to increase power at low and mid-range speeds, which is important for extreme riding.
- The carburetor on the 250/300 2T engines is mounted 15mm closer to the cylinder with a shorter tube to improve low speed response. It is now one piece instead of two, which also saves weight.
- The 250/300 2T models feature a modified reed valve for improved sealing, airflow and performance. The new design is made of plastic, using fiberglass / carbon / Viton (artificial rubber).
- Following this, the internal shape of the engine crankcase has been optimized for improved scavenging and mid-range enhancement, as well as a wider powerband.
- Lightweight clutch basket on 250/300 2T engines for reduced inertia and easier clutch lever pull.
- Reduced master cylinder piston and hydraulic clutch cylinder piston sizes also reduce lever effort.
- Improved clutch lubrication system.
- The 250/300 models have easier access to the fuel tap and have 1.5 liters of fuel reserve when switching to reserve.
- Blue wheel rims on Factory models.
- Factory and XC models feature a 48mm KYB fork and a new 50mm KYB shock for improved high-speed stability and improved shock absorption.
- New front drive sprocket with perforation.
- SC models are basically Factory models with no lighting, no wiring, and firmer suspension settings.
- Factory and XC models received an AFAM steel rear sprocket.
- All Racing models have a 150 g lighter plastic muffler tip.
- The 250/300 four-stroke bikes have a lighter starter sprocket to improve starting - important in tough racing conditions.
- On the 250/300 4T, work has been carried out to refine the gearbox - a 60% improvement in gear shift accuracy is claimed.
- The larger 450/500 4T engines are 600g lighter thanks to lighter crankshaft, clutch plate material, clutch basket, input shaft, balancer shaft, oil pump gears.
- The 450 4T has a new timing chain to reduce friction and noise to meet Euro4 noise requirements.
- The 125 two-stroke features an adjustable power valve for more tuning options.
- New piston shape on the 125 2T for improved wear evenness and stability.
- New engine tuning on the 125 2T for quicker throttle response.
Kymco SuperNEX
The Taiwanese company, known for producing scooters, has introduced the Kymco SuperNEX sports motorcycle that runs on electricity. The machine is shocking with its performance. It reaches 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds. The motorcycle reaches a maximum speed of 250 km/h. It's not all surprises! He does it in less than... 11 seconds. This means that just 2.9 seconds is enough to accelerate the SuperNEX to 100 km/h.
Of course, the SuperNEX's performance is just a promise, but if that's the case, the electric car will be a strong competitor to gas-powered superbikes.
I was very surprised that the Kymco had a transmission! Yes, you heard right! Kymco has equipped the electric motorcycle with a 6-speed transmission, clutch and quick-change shifter. The car also received an amazing bajer - Active Acoustic Motor system. Behind the foreign sound is a sound system that imitates the sound of an engine. The speaker operates in proportion to the engine speed.
We really hope Kymco doesn't disappoint us and we'll have more details about this machine soon.
BMW S 1000RR

BMW S 1000 RR . In this car, the guys from BMW finally abandoned asymmetrical lighting . Many friends were pleased with this news, but we will miss that shabby mischievous "look" of the headlights.
Technically the engine has changed. The car is 8 hp more powerful and has also lost 11 kg. The new four-cylinder engine features a ShiftCam variable camshaft that enhances the bike's flexibility.
The 2022 S 1000 RR also gets a special electronics package - DTC traction control, wheelie control and ABS Pro, four riding modes, TFT display, quick shift up and down and a six-axis IMU. The option will also include launch control, semi-active suspension, pit lane speed limiter and a Pro driving mode that will be useful on the track.

Honda CR Electric
First there was the electric scooter - the PCX Electric - and now it's time to go off-road. Honda unveiled an electric crossover at the 2022 Tokyo Motorcycle Show.
CR evokes a lot of emotions! Why? Because this is the first off-road prototype on the market. In 2014, KTM came up with a similar idea with the electric Freeride E-XC, but it's a recreational machine, not a competition machine. The Honda Electric was designed with the trail in mind.
I wonder how the electric crossover will compare to competitors such as the Yamaha YZF 250F, KTM SX-F 250 or Husqvarna FC 250.
