Husqvarna FC 450 2021 motocross motorcycle
Despite the coronavirus pandemic, new off-road motorcycle models are being released on schedule, which is great because off-road motorcycle sales are booming this year! Having suffered through self-isolation, motorcyclists are buying not just transport, but also a way to unwind and literally get some fresh air, and the number of copies sold is breaking records.
That’s how we got our hands on a pair of 2022 Husqvarna motorcycles! Let's start with the Husqvarna FC 450 - the most popular motocross motorcycle in the Husqvarna line.
Off-road motorcycle Husqvarna FC 450 - technical specifications, photos and videos
In 2014, Husqvarna laid an excellent foundation for the highest quality and modern technology in the motorcycle industry. This foundation became an excellent basis for a new generation of motocross motorcycles, one of which was the Husqvarna FC 450 - one of the best representatives of its class on the market today. Also, it is important to note that this motorcycle has expanded the manufacturer’s line, which should make the brand even more popular and recognizable among consumers.
Technical characteristics of Husqvarna FC 450
A review of the technical characteristics of this motorcycle should start with the engine, as the basis of any vehicle. Below you will find a brief description of all the main parameters of this unit:
- Number of motor strokes: 4.
- Number of cylinders installed in the engine: 1.
- Husqvarna FC 450 engine capacity: 449.3 cubic centimeters.
- Engine working cylinder diameter: 94 by 63.4 millimeters.
- Maximum power of the Husqvarna FC 450 engine: 60 horsepower.
- Engine cooling method: liquid system.
- Engine starting method: electric starter.
Also, we could not ignore the technical characteristics of the motorcycle transmission, although there is nothing special about it:
1. Gearbox type: mechanical.
2. Number of speeds: 5.
3. Clutch system type: multi-disc, oil bath lubricated.
4. Gear shift method: chain drive.
The next thing I would like to dwell on is the braking system of the car and its chassis:
- Frame type: tubular steel.
- Front suspension characteristics: inverted telescopic fork with 300 mm travel.
- Rear suspension characteristics: pendulum with monoshock absorber with a stroke of 317 millimeters.
- Front brake characteristics: hydraulic disc system with a diameter of 260 millimeters.
- Rear brake characteristics: hydraulic disc system with a diameter of 220 millimeters.
The last thing we want to focus on is the size of this motorcycle and its weight, which is extremely important for motocross models:
- Motorcycle seat height: 992 mm.
- Wheelbase length of Husqvarna FC 450: 1495 millimeters.
- Motorcycle ground clearance: 371 millimeters.
- Husqvarna FC 450 curb weight: 107.2 kilograms.
- Fuel tank volume: 7.5 liters.
Pros and cons of the Husqvarna FC 450 motocross motorcycle
If we highlight specific positive and negative aspects of the Husqvarna FC 450, then among the advantages it is worth highlighting the following:
- very light chassis, which is made on the basis of the most modern technologies
- a very powerful engine for cross-country motorcycles, which does not weigh down the Husqvarna FC 450
- a magnificent appearance that includes a stunning design and magnificent coloring
- very durable aluminum traverse, which is made of excellent aluminum alloy
Unfortunately, the Husqvarna FC 450 motocross motorcycle is not without its drawbacks, although only one stands out among them: a very high price. So, compared to its main competitors Kawasaki KX450F and Yamaha YZ450F, it costs 900 and 600 US dollars more.
The Husqvarna TE 125 cross-bike can easily be classified as a fairly popular Dual Sport category. Professionals know quite well that such a bike is quite suitable for both.
First of all, it must be said that the Suzuki GS 500 motorcycle is made in the best traditions of the Japanese manufacturer. At first glance, this model does not differ in anything special, however.
2022 Husqvarna FC 450
Drive the Husqvarna FC first at an amateur and then at a professional pace, then watch and listen. The Husqvarna FC 450 engine remains unchanged for 2022, so we already knew what to expect from it - and we weren't disappointed. The FC 450 produces strong, well-controlled thrust in abundance with a No. 1 map that is most effective when driven at lower rpms. At high speeds, the FC is so vicious that it will wear out the average rider in a matter of minutes, so it's better to switch often and ride on steam power rather than rocket power.
Map 2 makes the Husqvarna FC 450 more fun and nimble , and both pros prefer it over the smoother map 1. In this mode, the engine spins more freely and pulls to higher speeds. Regarding traction control, there are always both its supporters and opponents - the main thing is that it is there if you need it.

Review of the Yamaha YZ 450 F motorcycle
Model of motocross motorcycle Yamaha YZ450F
appeared in 2003, replacing the Yamaha YZ426F. The new model received an updated engine with increased displacement, as well as a new design. However, at that time the YZ450F still had the same steel frame and 4-speed gearbox. Numerous critics noted the excessive engine power, due to which the motorcycle could not show record results in motocross disciplines.
The situation began to change in 2005, when the Yamaha YZ450F received a new KYB front fork, and in 2006 it was completely changed. Firstly, the model received an aluminum frame. Secondly, the engine has been seriously revised and retuned, which is why the power curve has become smoother, removing the same explosive, uncontrollable character inherent in the previous generation. Thirdly, the 4-speed gearbox was replaced by a more familiar 5-speed gearbox. Fourthly, the motorcycle began to be equipped with a new KYB SSS (Speed-Sensitive System) fork. Fifth, overall optimization and an aluminum frame have reduced weight by nearly 10 pounds.
In 2010, Yamaha introduces a new generation of motocross Yamaha YZ450F. In addition to cosmetic differences, the model receives a new engine with an injection power system and a 4-valve cylinder head (instead of a 5-valve). At the same time, the engine became tilted back, and the tank was located under the seat. All these changes led to optimization of weight distribution, chassis geometry and ergonomics, which had a positive effect on the handling of the motorcycle.
For 2014, the Yamaha YZ450F is again undergoing changes. The appearance of the motorcycle changes, the exhaust system becomes shorter. The capacity of the fuel tank is increased (from 6 to 7.5 liters), and the geometry of the chassis is further optimized.
In 2022, Yamaha introduces the new generation of the YZ450F. The model receives an electric starter (+ battery) and completely abandons kick start. The appearance, ergonomics and overall dimensions change slightly. The engine increases the compression ratio from 12.5 to 12.8. The model is equipped with a new rear shock absorber. Fuel tank capacity is reduced from 7.5 to 6.2 liters.
A hard enduro model, the Yamaha WR450F, was also built on the basis of the motocross Yamaha YZ450F.
The main competitors of the Yamaha YZ450F in the class:
Characteristics of Yamaha YZ450F – enduro and motocross motorcycle
Many call the Yamaxa YZ450F a successor, but it is difficult to indicate the prototype. Some call it yz400f, citing the fact that having received a larger engine capacity, the motorcycle should have received a new name. Others argue that the direct predecessor is the Yamaha yz426f. But both of them are inclined to believe that the model turned out to be very unusual .
Design
The frame design provides a low center of gravity for better stability and handling of the motorcycle.
By creating this bike, the developers killed two birds with one stone.
On the one hand, it’s a model for motocross, but on the other hand, not every Enduro can boast such a high suspension.
The motorcycle is assembled on an aluminum frame with diagonal molding . The solution helped reduce the number of welding points, thereby adding rigidity to the structure. For strength, a double-sided beam is installed.
The frame is welded from an aluminum profile of variable section and shape.
The front suspension was assembled on the basis of an inverted telescopic fork , while at the rear a standard single-swing system was used.
Exterior
To make the design lighter, the bike has no external body kits, and there is no protection for either the engine or the rider . The user is provided with a lightweight frame, with a motor suspended under it, a gas tank, a steering wheel and two wheels on it. There is also no usual stuffing that comes with standard bikes.
The front fender is of standard size, but due to the fact that the fork has 310 mm of travel, in normal situations it is lifted almost under the handlebars. separate rear wing ; its functions are assigned to the seat area. Naturally, there is no saddle, no seat case, no luggage rack for installing an additional one.
Power point
2003 Yamaha YZ450F with two-stroke engine.
Having been born at the beginning of the 21st century, this bike hit the motorcycle market at a turning point.
Japanese manufacturers switched from 2-stroke engines to 4-stroke engines. Therefore, the first releases came with the old, 2t engine.
And considering that it pulls better than the standard one, this decision was justified for a cross-country motorcycle. A couple of years later, after 2005, all Japanese models began to be equipped with 4t. We installed this on the YZ450F. It was a 1-cylinder, 4-stroke engine of our own design.
Engine characteristics
- working volume - 448 cm 3 ;
- power - 53 hp ;
- maximum torque - 43.0 Nm ;
- number of valves - 4 (in the first years - 5);
- cooling - liquid ;
- fuel supply - injector ;
An injector with a valve with a diameter of 44 mm is responsible for fuel injection.
Mechanics will be interested in the fact that the exhaust and fuel intake systems on this bike have been swapped.
In this way, the developers distributed the mass of the engine and also created a direct path from the fuel inlet to the exhaust. Considering that the engine is tilted back for better aerodynamics, the change of seats made it possible to move the center of gravity, which made it possible not to reduce speed when cornering.
Transmission and clutch
The YZ450F comes with a 5-speed manual transmission. Operates according to a constant engagement scheme.
Drive by chain. The lubrication system uses the dry sump principle, but the clutch is in an oil bath.
Traditionally, Yamaxa uses a multi-disc variant.
A feature of the chain drive of the latest model is the driven sprocket increased by 1 tooth, which should increase the torque of the motorcycle.
Brakes
Hydraulic disc brakes are used on both wheels. One disk.
Front
Petal-type disc brakes have a configuration typical for motocross bikes.
- disc diameter 250 mm ;
- 2 piston caliper.
Rear
The diameter of the brake discs and shape contribute to good adhesion to the pads.
- disc diameter 245 mm ;
- 1 piston caliper.
Driving performance
Despite the declared cross-country characteristics, the maximum speed for the bike is only 150 km/h.
In the standard version, Dunlop tires with square studs arranged in a checkerboard pattern provide traction.
But at the same time, thanks to proprietary wheels, correct spokes and tubeless tires, it feels confident both on asphalt and on the ground, and the shock absorbers have a large range (
300 mm) allows you to easily overcome all kinds of bumps and holes on the way.
Fuel consumption and tank volume
The volume of the motorcycle's gas tank has increased from 6 liters (in the first years of production) to 7.5 (modern models). This reserve is enough for a distance of 200–350 km .
The average consumption in a mixed cycle is 3 liters.
Dimensions and weight
When dry, the motorcycle weighs 106 kg - not the worst, but not the best result among its competitors, but rather typical for most similar models.
- Length - 2190 mm ;
- Width - 834 mm ;
- Height - 1310 (total), 1000 (saddle) mm;
- Base - 1490 mm ;
- Ground clearance - 385 mm ;
- Weight - 110 kg .
Flaws
It’s interesting that the shortcomings are expressed mainly by those who, having seen the Enduro—a similar suspension, expect to see the Enduro—similar characteristics.
The disadvantages include the unpresentable appearance (open) and the lack of light signals. “ You can’t get past the traffic police officer; he’ll stop you because he’s not there .”
Yamaxa YZ450F is a motorcycle that is clearly not suitable for riding on public roads.
Comments are unnecessary - any external body kit is an additional mass, not always correctly centered.
This also includes the need for frequent maintenance:
- The oil filter must be changed after every long ride;
- fuel of strictly one brand (up to one gas station);
- The piston engine lasts no more than 100 km in Enduro mode.
and dignity
An interesting feature of the latest modification of the motorcycle is Wi-Fi support for tuning and diagnosing the engine.
One of the major advantages of the model is the YZ system, although in some cases it needs to be purchased separately. Among its features:
- power change;
- adjusting the fuel mixture (enrich/lean);
- adjusting the correspondence of speeds and revolutions;
- When connecting additional cards, you can change the parameters of any motorcycle harness.
The advantages include a good ratio between weight and suspension, economical consumption, and fast acceleration.
So who is whose successor?
In general, the Yamaxa YZ450F is a fairly popular “cross bike”, about which motorcycle racers speak mostly positively.
The yz426f version, which was mentioned at first, was produced until 2002. Since the new 2003, it received new components, a different fuel supply system for the engine and turned... into the YZ450F, the production of which continues. During production, the model underwent two restylings - 2006 and 2010.
But 426 itself is a successor. Until 200, it bore the name... yz400f. Having an engine capacity of 400 cm 3 and a carburetor fuel supply system.
Conclusion
When buying this motorcycle, you should think three times about where, and most importantly, for what purpose you need it. And the point here is not the lack of external body kits.
Auto tuning companies, especially in Russia, will easily turn it into some kind of Honda with all the necessary parts and nameplates. But are you ready to hold it under you? The bike is capable of standing on the sawhorse at any speed. In this case, the motor will not have to be “twisted” like on a weak scooter. And the stock shock absorbers are enough to drive over a speed bump without noticing it.
The capabilities of the motorcycle are very wide, but do not forget that this is a cross-country version.
Husqvarna FX 450 suspension
As such, the suspension components on the Husqvarna FX 450 are the same as on the FC 450, but the 48-inch WP Xact fork with AER technology and the WP Xact monoshock are tuned slightly softer for off-road riding. I had to spend some time finding adjustments to suit my riding style. On a typical 'cross trail, the suspension is definitely on the soft side and I tried to tune it specifically for 'cross, but it didn't help in off-road riding as it became too firm and I lost comfort.
I was looking for settings for a clearer and more confident grip on the ground, for which the Yamaha YZ450FX is famous, but came to the conclusion that this is not the element of the Husqvarna FX 450. I ended up staying close to the stock rear suspension settings: I set the sag to 108 mm, fast compression to 1.5 turns from fully tightened, slow compression for 9 clicks and 11 clicks for release.
I had to fiddle with the fork a little longer. I tried a bunch of options until I settled on the most comfortable one. What worked best for me was increasing the fork pressure from stock 10.1 bar to 10.6 bar. This greatly improved the balance of the bike and almost completely eliminated the feeling of sway. The loose release also helped - I got 13 clicks from a fully tightened one. And then, depending on the conditions, I set the compression from 9 to 11 clicks. Once I came to this option, the Husqvarna FX 450 became quite comfortable for my taste.

Description of the Husqvarna TE 450e 2002 motorcycle is in the queue for publication of the article. Announcement: Today, for almost every new motorcycle that comes into being, marketers strive to carve out their own niche. This one is a road sport, this one is a recreational enduro. But what class should we include a motorcycle that has a little bit of everything? A good bike should have a reliable engine, comfortable ergonomics and simple controls.
Despite the fact that good models of motorcycles have a very respectable price, and the season for their use is relatively short, the motorcycle market is developing rapidly. And if you believe the words of dealers, then some models of recently released motorcycles are selling like hot cakes at the beginning of the season, and the models brought to Russia are clearly not enough to fully satisfy consumer demand.
A motorcycle has long ceased to be an alternative to a car, and the times when this equipment was bought only because there was not enough money for a full-fledged car are forgotten. Nowadays, two-wheelers can be called technological marvels in many cases, and their cost can be compared with that of prestigious cars.
Many people have started buying motorcycles for hobby purposes as riding or even collecting them has become a good pastime for many people. Many motorcycles, for example the Husqvarna TE 450e, whose technical characteristics make it possible to call the model a prestigious brand, are in demand among both beginners and experienced motorcyclists.
Currently, it is impossible to purchase a new Husqvarna TE 450e motorcycle from the 2002 model year, since their production stopped 14 years ago. At the same time, the Husqvarna TE 450e has excellent technical characteristics, so many people strive to purchase, if not a new, then at least a used version.
Motorcycles with an engine capacity of 449 cc. see, appeared as a result of long work of inventors who sought to create a model that was not inferior in characteristics to other versions of the motorcycle. In some cases, these models are not only not inferior, but also ahead of other motorcycles, as they have minimal fuel consumption and other excellent parameters.
Motorcycles with an engine capacity of more than 400 kb. cm, which includes the Husqvarna TE 450e - this category of motorcycles simply cannot claim the title of “motorcycle for a beginner.” On the contrary, this is already a serious technique that requires certain control of motorcycle equipment with a smaller engine capacity. Yes, she attracts more attention, she is the most beautiful, fast, interesting and there is a huge selection of models. But as power increases, the weight of the motorcycle inevitably increases. In this class you are unlikely to find motorcycles lighter than 180 kg, unless they are the latest motorcycle models.

Elimination of loose brake pedal on an IZh motorcycle with a sidecar
Reliable fastening On IZh motorcycles with a sidecar equipped with a brake, the pedal soon becomes loose. In this case, the order of operation of the brakes of the motorcycle and the trailer is disrupted, which is why the crew skids to the side when braking, especially sharply. In addition, the adjustment of the brake light switch changes. To eliminate this drawback, I turned out axle 9 (see Fig. “b”) and attached the brake pedal to it, drilling a hole in the support plate 2 of the frame to 12 mm. Since then this unit has been working properly. Brake pedal mounting unit: a - factory version; b - revised version; 1 — brake pedal; 2 — frame support plate; 3 — M10 bolt; 4 - bushing; 5 - spring washer; 6 — nut M10; 7 — washer; 8 — M12 nut; 9 - axis. Jerking when engaging the clutch
“On the IZh motorcycle, when starting off, jerks in the transmission began to be felt. What could be the reason?" - asks L. Koltsovsky from the city of Shakhty. A similar phenomenon on the IZh, as well as on other motorcycles with a multi-disc clutch, indicates a malfunction of this unit. Usually jerks when engaging the clutch (that is, when starting off) occur due to the fact that its disks do not touch simultaneously and not over the entire area. Most often, the reason is warping of the discs or the formation of dents in the grooves of the drums. To fix the problem, you need to disassemble the clutch and replace damaged parts. If the dents in the grooves are shallow, you can level their surfaces with a file, so that the teeth of the disks touch all the grooves at the same time. It should be borne in mind that in excessively wide grooves, the disc teeth will knock against their edges when engaging and disengaging the clutch while the motorcycle is moving. This will lead to intensive wear of the drum grooves. In some cases, the clutch does not engage.
What bearings and seals are used on IZH-Planet and IZH-Jupiter motorcycles
Reader A. Ustinov from Kemerovo asks what bearings and oil seals are used on the IZH-Planet and IZH-Jupiter motorcycles, and asks for their numbers. The crankshaft of the Planet motorcycle (all models) rests on two roller bearings 2505K and for one ball bearing 304 (left). Its trunnions are sealed with an oil seal designated IZH-49 sb. 1-30-1 with cover (right) and seal IZH-49 sb. 1-40-3 (left). The Jupiter crankshaft (also of all models) is mounted on three 205 ball bearings and on 304 ball bearings (left). The oil seals are as follows: right - IZH-49 sb 1-30-3 with a cover, left - IZH-Yu sb. 1-50 and one oil seal IZH-Yu sb. 1-14-1 in each of the two crank chamber covers. The secondary shaft of the gearbox for both Planeta and Jupiter rests on roller bearing 192906 K1M and is sealed with an IZH-49 sb oil seal. 1-28-1.The input shaft on all motorcycles on the left is supported by a ball bearing.
IZH Planet 5, 5K (IZH 7.107, 7.108)
Engine and transmission parameters have been improved, efficiency has been increased, and the appearance of the motorcycle has been updated. In the second quarter, the Izhmash association moves to mass production of IZH-Planet-5 motorcycles, the first batch of which was manufactured at the end of last year. The changes made to the design compared to Planet-4 were primarily aimed at satisfying the needs of rural motorcyclists - the main consumers of motorcycles. The parameters of the engine and transmission have been improved, efficiency has been increased, and the appearance of the motorcycle has been updated. The engine cylinder and its head are of a new design. This made it possible to reduce fuel consumption by approximately 10%: for “Planet-5” it is 5.0 l/100 km at a speed of 90 km/h, in the version with a side trailer “IZH-Planet-5K”> - 7.0 l /100 km at 60 km/h (the corresponding figures for Planet 4 are 5.5 and 7.2 l/100 km). Husqvarna FX 450 engine
The Husqvarna FX 450 shares many components with the FC 450, including the Keihin Engine Management System (EMS) and 44mm throttle body. EMS is equipped with launch control, as well as traction control and fuel maps switchable from the steering wheel. The Husqvarna FX 450 is a competition model, which means it is not equipped with a spark arrestor, i.e. its exhaust tract with a flow-through resonator chamber is the same as on the FC 450. The single-shaft engine has not received significant updates for 2022, but Husqvarna has worked on the fuel supply and ignition maps. The titanium valves are driven by diamond-like coating (DLC) rocker arms, which keep the camshaft as low and close to the center of mass as possible. The intake valves have a diameter of 40 mm, and the exhaust valves have a diameter of 33 mm.
Husqvarna's cross-country flagship has a 95mm piston bore, which is 2mm smaller than some of its 450cc rivals. Thanks to this, the lightweight 320 gram piston reduces moving mass, and the 450 cc displacement is achieved thanks to an increased stroke of 63.4 mm, which is approximately 2.5 mm more than that of rivals.
The Husqvarna FX 450 engine is quite good. It may not be the fastest or the most torquey, but it is very comfortable and controllable. The karts in this motorcycle are tuned for off-road riding, so the engine runs smoothly at the bottom, pulls at mid-range speeds and builds power right up to the cutoff. I really liked that you can ride it at any comfortable pace all day long without feeling tired, and the traction is always completely controllable. The engine management system with steering wheel map switch works great and is easy to use on the go. And although the maps do not differ too much, each has its own positive aspects that provide their own advantages when driving. The main difference between map 1 and 2 is the low end traction. With the first map, the traction is smoother and the throttle response is somewhat less aggressive, but the second map causes a sharper character even at the bottom, and spins the rear wheel much faster.
Engine Husqvarna FX 450 2020
Thanks to its linear power curve, the Husqvarna FX 450 delivers smooth, predictable thrust. Even with a longer stroke design than its competitors, this is one of the most torquey 450cc engines. And although it does not have such a powerful blast as the most high-torque engines in its class, it compensates for this with excellent handling and responsiveness to the gas. Its smooth, controlled traction reduces fatigue and delivers faster lap times on long runs.
The Husqvarna FX 450 has the same five-speed gearbox as the FC 450, but Husqvarna has given the rear sprocket one tooth less, resulting in a gear ratio of 13:48. The gear sensor is built into the box, and the ECU contains a separate map for each of them. The box is excellent for competitions, but for simpler driving it is sometimes suboptimal.
On narrow, difficult sections, first gear is a bit high.
You can, of course, play with the stars, but one tooth will not be enough to make first gear more convenient. This also means that you will need a larger chain - the standard one consists of 114 links. Since the chainring has 13 teeth, I decided to add 2 teeth back and replaced the stock 48 with a 50 tooth. This gave a significant improvement in the plug sections and improved first and second gears. Of course, the change in final drive ratio became noticeable in fast sections or in mud.
The Magura hydraulic clutch operates smoothly and precisely. The information content of the lever is exactly what we would like for a 450 cc motorcycle. I didn’t use the clutch too much, mainly on narrow paths and in quarries due to the high first, and the clutch did not overheat or slip.

Motorcycle Yamaha YZ450F
The YZ450F's new stylish and aggressive design makes it indistinguishable from race bikes. The Yamaha YZ450F is the officially recognized and most successful bike in the MX1 class! In the new millennium, Yamaha's YZF models dominated all classes of motocross competition. Victories in motocross are won in the corners. The new Yamaha YZ450F copes with them even better than before, allowing you to enter turns earlier, gain speed faster and maintain it.
The extreme second generation of the series entered the 2006 season with a dry sump engine paired with a five-speed transmission, and a new lightweight racing-design frame takes the motorcycle's handling to a whole new level.
In 2008, the undisputed leader will receive a number of changes: a modified shape of the intake ports, modified camshaft cam profiles, reduced piston clearances, and modified gearbox ratios.
At 18:00 European time, Yamaha announced the 2010 YZ450F motorcycle - will the specs compare to what we expected to see in the summer?
The Yamaha YZ450 motorcycle remains one of the most popular “cross bikes” in the world. Judging by Yamaha's presentation, it will exceed all expectations!
A little about the engine
.
The engine of the Yamaha YZ450F 2010 motorcycle has a modified cylinder arrangement with a vertical stroke. This allows you to squeeze more power out of it and reduce friction. The engine piston stroke
has also undergone changes; it is reduced to 60.8mm, and its diameter is increased to 97.0mm. The air intake was moved up. Pros: It will stay cleaner during spirited driving and also free up more room for front suspension travel. Instead of a 5-valve design, 4 titanium valves are now used.
Fuel tank
is now located under the seat to centralize mass and lower the center of gravity of the motorcycle, it has decreased to 6.05 liters.
The YZ450F uses exhaust system
, which should help deliver better power delivery in the low and mid-range.
There is no battery on the motorcycle at all. Yamaha followed the same path as Honda in 2009 - switched to a battery-free motorcycle power system. Like the CR450F, the YZ450F's ECU is powered by a capacitor, which is sufficient to activate the electronics; the spark is provided by a high-pulse 110-watt generator via a kick starter.
New chassis
Twin Spar is an engineering marvel, made up of 16 individual blocks: even stiffer and stronger than before.
The rear shock absorber
is attached to the supporting structure exactly in the center of the motorcycle, where the air filter used to be.
Yamaha has redesigned the front suspension
, the speed-sensitive Kayaba fork is now 3 mm higher and the travel is increased by 10 mm. The rear 50mm shock absorber is also from Kayaba with an external compensator.
The 2010 YZ450F is available in Yamaha Racing Blue and Yamaha Sports White.

Tuono motorcycles have been tall enough for a compact streetfighter for many years. The new version is slightly lower thanks to the new suspension. Fork tube now.
If we are talking about stylish, spectacular and at the same time powerful models from a technological point of view, then the Suzuki VZ 800 Marauder can confidently be called a dream cruiser. .
Another model of the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer YAMAHA, which traces its lineage back to the legendary winner of the Paris-Dakar trophy raid of the seventies, is the YAMAHA XT660 Tenere. .
Chassis and handling
First released in 2022, the current frame, subframe and swingarm are in their second year of production unchanged. Significant changes for 2022 included increased frame rigidity, upper triple clamp, new carbon subframe, new swingarm, lower radiators and new cladding. The current generation of Husqvarna chassis is quite rigid. And for the comfort of long trips, it is absolutely necessary to adjust the suspension , especially the air fork. For driving on rocks, setting up the front suspension is even more important. On the other hand, the rigidity of the chassis makes it more responsive to rider input and more precise in steering. Increasing the fork pressure makes the bike much more balanced and improves straight-line stability without compromising cornering control.
Husqvarna FX 450 2020
The new cladding of the Husqvarna FX 450 is narrower than the previous version. This allows you to move closer to the handlebars, but there's not much there for your knees to grab onto in fast, bumpy sections. I can't say whether I like the new version more than the previous one, they are both quite good. Moving towards the handlebars on the bike is easy thanks to the fairly flat seat. And despite the fact that the FX 450’s tank is larger than that of the FC 450 motocross, you don’t really notice it.
I love the ergonomics of the Husqvarna FX 450. It's comfortable, comfortable and fits well. The seating position and footpeg height are almost perfect for my 175cm frame, but I think the longer seat would suit taller riders too. Personally, I also tried changing the steering wheel spacers - and it seemed more convenient to me if I made it lower by 25 mm.
Yamaha WR 450 review
The WR 450 is a powerful enduro, which is the successor to the motocross bike.
It embodies almost all the advantages of the class and evokes admiration among those who value two-wheeled vehicles with high cross-country ability and relatively light weight.
For whom
Here are the main advantages of the Yamaha WR 450:
- high power and torque;
- comfortable fit, allowing you not to get tired for a long time;
- nice and catchy design of a classic enduro.
The motorcycle is not suitable for beginners; its engine is too large. However, an experienced off-road enthusiast will immediately recognize the Yamaha WR 450 as an excellent specimen suitable for off-road racing. Yes, this motorcycle is far from the most passable, but it is a solid average in its class and does not even think of being inferior to many more modern models.
Specifications
In terms of its parameters, this is a serious machine capable of overcoming a lot of different obstacles. Properly tuned suspension allows the WR 450 to do things that many later bikes cannot. The engine here is up to par, although there are not enough stars in the sky. All components are carefully selected and work harmoniously.
Engine
The WR 450 engine capacity reaches 449 cm³. The engine has one cylinder and the number of strokes is four. The maximum torque is 43.1 Nm, and the power reaches 53 hp. These are good characteristics for the average representative of the enduro class, which is the WR 450.
Transmission
The gearbox here is five-speed, which is more than enough for this motorcycle. The drive is of a chain type, which makes the transfer of engine potential to the rear wheel maximum, because there is no loss of power.
Dimensions and weight
The length of the WR 450 reaches 2315 mm, its width is 825 mm, and its height is 1275 mm. The wheelbase dimensions are 1475 mm, and the seat height is 960 mm. The curb weight of this bike is 122 kg and the tank capacity is 7.2 liters. Taking into account the average gasoline consumption of 6 liters per hundred kilometers, this is quite enough.
Chassis and brakes
The WR 450 has an aluminum frame, which is equipped with a double-sided beam. The wheels here, of course, are spoked, as expected according to the canons of the class. The steering wheel is typical. The appearance of the model strongly resembles a cross-country motorcycle, however, an experienced biker will immediately understand that this is an enduro.
As for the suspension, there is a monoshock absorber at the rear and an inverted fork at the front. The rear brake features a single-piston caliper and 245mm disc, while the front brake features a dual-piston caliper and a 250mm disc. These are quite good chassis characteristics for the enduro class.
Production
The motorcycle has been produced since 2002, and so far they are not going to remove it from the assembly line. This is probably due to its success in the market, which was ensured by its excellent driving characteristics, such as cross-country ability, speed and handling. Among other things, this motorcycle is quite reliable.
Classmates
The WR 450 has several rivals. Each competitor is good in its own way, and in some ways even better than the Yamaha models, however, if you look at these motorcycles as a whole, they are not superior to the WR 450 globally. These models are: RMX 450 Z from Suzuki, KLX 450 from Kawasaki, and finally the CRF 450 F from Honda.
History of changes
Here are the stages the WR 450 went through:
- 2002 – start of production;
- 2004 – reduction in tank capacity and weight;
- 2006 – new dashboard, increased weight;
- 2007 – comprehensive restyling;
- 2012 – electronic fuel injection;
- 2016 – new engine.
The motorcycle left a noticeable mark on the history of the industry and is one of the most worthy representatives of the class, despite the average characteristics.
