Honda ADV350 2022
Honda's ADV lineup of off-road scooters (led by the flagship X-ADV) has been expanded with a 350 model, combining design cues from the older model with a simpler, lighter tubular steel chassis featuring 37mm inverted forks and dual backpack-style rear shocks. The 330 cc engine produces 28.8 hp and 31.5 Nm, and for stability on loose and slippery surfaces, the model is equipped with HSTC traction control. The windshield is height adjustable, all the lighting is LED, the 48-liter seat case can accommodate two full-face helmets, and the glove compartment has a USB Type-C socket for charging gadgets. The instrument panel's LCD screen includes voice-activated smartphone control, while keyless entry makes riding more convenient by automatically unlocking the seat and center cases when the owner is present and locking them when the owner moves away from the scooter. But the main thing is that the ADV350 is truly an off-road scooter, albeit not in the sense in which the same word is used in relation to sports off-road motorcycles.
Surprisingly, Honda wants a pretty hefty sum of almost $15,000 for the ADV350, and you can imagine that for that kind of money this model doesn't even have cruise control. However, in contrast to the 350, the younger model, ADV150 at a price of 4300, seems to be quite a bargain.
Appearance
The main difference between the Honda Zoomer and other scooters is its design and non-standard frame design. At first glance, you will notice that the scooter is almost completely free of plastic panels and fairings.
The almost “naked” frame allows you to operate the zoomer in the most difficult conditions without fear of damaging it. However, there are places where plastic parts still remain. They bury the battery and electronics from external conditions, which are located under the steering wheel. Another distinctive detail of the “Zoomer” is the double round headlights, headlights and completely empty space under the seat, under which not only a standard helmet can be placed, but also a long load. As for the engine compartment, it is securely hidden from prying eyes with a plastic cover. Also a noticeable element of the scooter are its unusually large wheels, which have increased grip and allow it to move confidently even on dirt roads. Overall, the scooter has a brutal, but at the same time modern look, making it difficult for it to go unnoticed.
Honda ADV350 assistants and accessories
Two-stage HSTC traction control monitors differences in front and rear wheel speeds and limits traction to prevent rear wheel slip and restore traction (while the T indicator flashes on the display). If necessary, HSTC can be turned off using the button on the left remote control. An 11.5-liter tank with a declared consumption of 3.33 liters per hundred will provide a power reserve of more than 300 km.
For the ADV350, accessories are available from the factory catalog: in addition to the already mentioned 50-liter central case with keyless entry system locking, a rear luggage rack, internal cases bags, warm handles, an anti-theft lock and a cover are also offered.
The 2022 ADV350 will be available in Spangle Silver Metallic, Mat Carbonium Gray Metallic and Mat Carnelian Red Metallic.
Frame design
In the process of developing this scooter, Japanese engineers did not stop only at the unusual appearance; changes also affected the main structural elements, including the frame. Contrary to tradition, the frame in the Honda Zoomer is not a one-piece structure, but consists of two elements. The front part of the frame is made of aluminum, this is done to reduce the overall weight of the scooter, and the rear part is steel. Both parts are bolted together, which, if necessary, greatly facilitates repair of the scooter.

Honda Zoomer AF-58 is a unique model of a Japanese off-road scooter with a four-stroke, single-cylinder gasoline engine of 50 cm³. A single-seater all-terrain scooter, capable of easily accelerating to a maximum speed of 60 km/h, was developed by Japanese engineers, primarily with an eye to increased demand among modern youth, but in the end it gained, without exaggeration, great popularity among the adult population of the Planet.
Initially, in Russia, the popularization of this off-road scooter occurred in villages and villages, which often have to travel along broken country roads and forest paths, including among Russian summer residents. And then the Honda Zoomer AF58 will also appeal to city residents. The brutal but stylish design provides unlimited possibilities for individual tuning and customization, numerous examples of which can be seen in photos and videos on the Internet.
The closest and cheapest analogue of the Honda Zoomer AF58 is the Chinese off-road scooter Jialing JL50 QT-16. On the crest of a wave of commercial boom, the Chinese tried to snatch their piece of financial gain from the Japanese. However, the quality of motorcycles produced in the Middle Kingdom is objectively lower than the Japanese, so the Chinese “Jialing”, despite the fact that consumers paid attention to it, could not become as fashionable and sold as the Japanese “Zoomer”.
Production of the Honda Zoomer AF-58 began in Japan back in 2002, but even today this “fifty-kopeck scooter” is one of the most high-tech among scooters with an engine capacity of 50 cm³. For example, large off-road wheels and a liquid-cooled injection engine are installed on the lightweight and durable aluminum frame of the Honda Zoomer AF-58. For its size, the scooter is light in weight (87 kg), and the manufacturer is forced to limit the maximum speed electronically.
Few people can afford to buy a Japanese off-road scooter, the Honda Zoomer. The price of the new model (without mileage), relative to ordinary versions, is quite high. But this modification is a status modification, emphasizing the extraordinary taste, social status and independent character of its owner. On such a scooter you can appear at a fashionable get-together in a club of scooter lovers, and take part in cross-country races on equal terms with other fans of two-wheeled motor vehicles.
Engine
The Honda Zoomer engine capacity is 49 cc, while the scooter develops 4.2 hp, however, the power plant here has significant differences from other more common Honda scooters. The power plant of the “zoomer” does not have a removable cylinder block, since it is completely integrated into the engine body. In addition, the engine has 4 strokes, which not only increases its service life, but also significantly reduces operating noise. The Zoomer AF 58 engine runs smoothly, quietly and at the same time economically, consuming 2.5 liters of fuel per 100 km. However, you should immediately take into account that this scooter has two different versions. One is equipped with a carburetor, and the other with an injector, which also affects operation, as well as fuel consumption. The engine on the Honda Zoomer is started using an electric starter, which greatly facilitates its operation.
Honda
Did you give Africa for service and get this motorcycle in return? rollerball? In short, when I approached it, the seller laughed when he saw my long face)) Well, there’s nothing to do, I’ll ride it for two days. An adventure scooter, as Honda positions it.
From the first moment there is no understanding. The lack of a foot brake gave rise to a whole scene among the staff when I asked where the rear brake is on the steering wheel - on the right or on the left? We started pressing on the hands and found out that it was on the left. The scooter is quite tall and wide, requiring long legs to reach the ground. I could only reach the ground with one foot, and due to the width of the moto/stands, my foot went to the side. In short, it was unpleasant for me.
You approach it like a motor scooter, try to move your leg over the high middle part and realize that it won’t work. Once I managed to move my leg there, then the problem was landing on the other side, because, as I already said, it’s wide and my legs are awkward... In general, you have to climb like on a motorcycle, which is also not very convenient. In general, this was a complete disappointment for me.
I sat down, wiggled my butt—the seat seemed okay, but after two days I still couldn’t find a comfortable body position for myself. The legs were stretched forward on the stands, they also stood wide, the body sat somehow awkwardly, he was constantly fidgeting, looking for something more comfortable. The tidy is overloaded with all sorts of information in small print, among which it is difficult to isolate what you need. In general, so-so, I remembered where the speed was, and didn’t care about the rest. The steering wheel is wide, apparently made taking into account the fact that the scooter should also go off-road (hahaha).
Just like in an advertisement, but we know that even if we manage to fly so beautifully in front of the photographer, it will only be very short before a beautiful fall.)))
Comfort is excellent. Due to the fairly long suspension (150mm front/rear), it absorbs bumps well and does not shake at all. All the same, it seems to have been made for off-road driving. The wind deflector has 5 height positions - a cool thing, I really liked it. At the highest position you can follow him quite calmly.
The sound is very quiet, a pleasant muttering. But not squeaky, small-sized, but slightly bassy. He seems to make it clear - there are 750 cubic meters under the seat, two water-cooled cylinders, 55 horses / 68 Nm - I can show what I’m capable of. And he showed))) The acceleration is good, the road holding is excellent, the gearbox - the well-known Honda DCT - works perfectly, both in automatic mode and in manual mode. In turns it goes as if on rails, shifts as they say with an effort of thought. I drove on the autobahn at a speed of 150 km/h - zeeer gut))) In general, everything is super here, I was very pleased. The only inconvenience is the rear brake. I always have to remind myself that the brake is on the left of the steering wheel. And there’s no need to fidget with your right foot on the stand in search of the brake foot. As well as in search of running boards. By the second day I got used to it a little, and it started to work out better. And then you pull away from a traffic light and start fumbling with your feet on the sides. From the outside it probably looked like I was sitting on a scooter and wanted to run))
The scooter is heavy - 238 kilograms, if it starts to fall over at a stop, it’s hard to hold it. What else did you like? - The glove compartment is under the seat)) Like in the NTs750, it’s quite large, a lot can be stuffed in there. Closing and opening are electric, using a joystick on the panel.
The lid of the tank between the legs is opened by him. The tank is 13 liters, the consumption is low. In two days I covered 120 km and filled up with 5 liters.
By the way, it doesn’t need a key - Keyless System. The transponder is simply in your pocket, you approach, the moto recognizes you, and then by turning the knob you move the ignition switch to the desired position. What happens if the battery runs out at an unnecessary moment? - No idea, I’ll probably have to call a tow truck.
What else? Oh yes - appearance. It looks cool, many people look at it, but they hardly ever see it on the road. This type of sporty and fast silhouette, with motorcycle elements, hand protection, 17/15 Zoll spoked wheels. Many people come up and ask, “How’s it going?” What about off-road?” Moreover, people who are asking are quite mature, 50-70 years old. I always asked them, “Do you really drive off-road???” Ahhh, I just remembered))) As everyone knows, motorcyclists do not welcome scooterists and vice versa. Everything looks very interesting here. When you look at it from the front, it’s like a motorcycle, a little low, but a motorcycle. And on the side - I don’t know what. Either a big scooter or a motorcycle. And so you’re driving along the road slowly, a motorcyclist comes towards you, notices you, begins to raise his hand, then he sees that this is some kind of misunderstanding on wheels, you see his confusion, his hand trembled and went down)))) In short, it’s cool. I didn’t go off-road, but there is a button on the panel to turn off traction control and G-Modus for off-roading, just like in Africa. In general, it was difficult for me to imagine it off-road. In general, this moment remained incomprehensible to me, as it always seemed like the machinations of managers trying to push through the impossible. Well, the price is the icing on the cake. For this 2022 device, the store wants 11,500 euros. In my opinion the price is too high for it. Yes - unusual. Yes, off-road, fun, wind of freedom, drift and all that. Yes - automatic transmission. But still this is not a motorcycle. Let’s say for 8 thousand, it would probably be a sell-out, but otherwise it’s a beautiful, expensive toy known to few people.
The last photo was honestly stolen from the network.)) Beaver everyone and good luck on the roads!
