Racer Nitro or the RC250CK model is the concern’s attempt to conquer the sector of streetfacers - urban road motorcycles. For the tasks that the developer assigned to it, the model turned out to be successful. But it couldn’t cope with the expanded set of needs of some consumers. For more demanding customers, developers began to develop a new model, but Nitro still remains in demand on the market and there are no plans to curtail production.
Specifications
The Chinese developed an engine especially for the Nitro model, which was then successfully used on bikes of similar capacity designed at the factory.
The “heart” of the motorcycle is a four-stroke “single-pot” air-cooled engine.
The 200cc version from Japanese bikes is taken as a basis . The piston has been rebuilt and the motorcycle gets a 4-stroke, 1-cylinder engine that produces:
- working volume - 224 cm3;
- power - 16 hp;
- number of valves - 2;
- cooling - air;
- fuel supply - carburetor;
- ignition - electronic;
- start - electric starter, kick starter, as a backup option;
- tank volume - 14 l.
The neck of the gas tank is locked with a key.
Interestingly, copying Japanese drawings during development, the carburetor was ordered from Japan.
Transmission and clutch
The motorcycle uses a 5-speed gearbox. Users notice that it works well, but for the maximum speed that this bike is capable of reaching, 2 would be enough. The large travel of the clutch pedal allows you to control the speed, like on a scooter, using the gas handle.
- The box works according to the standard principle - all speeds except the first pedal are up. Neutral and first - down. Everything needs to be clicked - slippage is excluded.
- Drive standard - via chain.
The chain is one of the weak points of this bike.
- The clutch is also standard for the developer. Multi-disc, oil bath .
Brakes
Like other road workers, the brakes are disc and hydraulic. 1 disc per axle, 1 piston for support. No additional options are offered.
Front brakes.
Rear brakes.
FAQ
- Is it comfortable to drive around a big city? In Moscow, for example? Relatively. Thanks to its modest dimensions, the Nitro 200 can easily pass even in narrow aisles, but it lacks traction on busy avenues.
- Is the bike suitable for a trip to the sea several thousand kilometers away? People go long-distance even on 50cc scooters, so it's up to you to decide.
- Is it worth buying the Racer Nitro 200, or is it better to save up and get the 300cc version? There is little difference between them, but the latest generation has a more peppy engine.
Driving performance
The developers claim a maximum speed of 100 km/h. Mechanics usually add “when driving downhill with a mandatory tailwind.” In their opinion, you can accelerate to 95 and then, every other time. Real, normally maintained - 80–90 km/h .
Acceleration to hundreds
For the same reason, acceleration to 100 was not measured on test benches. The owners claim that the bike is quite dynamic - the quarter-liter engine allows you to start first from a traffic light, but after 80 the power begins to drop.
Fuel consumption
Average fuel consumption is 3 liters per 100. This assumes good coverage and urban driving style.
Total
The Racer Fighter 250 is a really good motorcycle , and for its price it can perhaps even be called good . Yes, it lacks power; for those with tall stature and a large build, sitting on it may not be very comfortable, and the bike looks too secondary. But it is light, compact, and perfect for everyday driving around the city. Flashing plugs on a Racer Fighter 250 is even easier than on some 600, because in this case dimensions, not power, are decisive.
Dimensions and weight
The weight of the motorcycle is completely unusual for Chinese bikes. Interestingly, according to reviews of the model, the difference between dry and curb weight is only 4 kg. 133 and 137 kg respectively.
First impressions - heavy, big and beautiful.
At the same time, the external parameters are typical of a serious road worker:
- length - 2028 mm;
- width - 782 mm;
- height - 1072 mm;
- seat height - 670 mm.
Wheelbase - 1302 mm.
Construction of Racer Nitro 250
The design of the Racer Nitro is based on a classic steel frame.
Despite the fact that the motorcycle was positioned for urban use, it has some enduro features. These include:
- naked configuration;
- completely open motor;
- bottom crankcase protection.
In automotive parlance, the developer has created a crossover. This is not a pure SUV, but (if desired) you can drive on country roads.
Front inverted fork.
Rear monomortizer.
Like most Chinese bikes, the design is based on a steel frame . All details are standard . The suspension uses upside-down forks at the front and a mono shock absorber at the rear. A comfortable ride is ensured by the ability to adjust the preload force.
Distinctive features
Distinctive features include a specially designed resonator, which significantly reduces the noise level.
The stock muffler, as a rule, suits everyone, with the exception of connoisseurs of “straight flow”.
This also includes an affordable price, low fuel consumption and a minimum of innovations , allowing the user to carry out most of the maintenance in a garage without resorting to the services of specialized stations.
Modifications
The model turned out to be successful, but users wanted a more “beautiful” bike. While gaining experience and a model range, the developers respected the requests. Thus fighter was born.
Even though the model has a different name, the bikes have the same hardware. This is confirmed by internal model numbers. Racer Nitro - RC250CK. Racer Fighter - RC250CK-N . The Fighter is distinguished by its design (the front turn signals are especially noticeable) and some design changes that have helped reduce its already minimal fuel consumption.
The photo shows the Racer Fighter model - RC250CK-N.
Other models were also developed based on the Nitro, but apart from the engine they had nothing in common with the prototype.
Control
The Racer Nitro 250 motorcycle is controlled using handles. On the right is the light switch, on the left is the switch for high and low beam and turn indicators.
A necessary and original function is the ability to blink high beams at oncoming traffic. There is also a choke lever on the steering wheel - it is convenient to use due to its easy accessibility. Nearby is the clutch lever, covered with a rubber casing that protects the parts from moisture and dirt. The steering wheel is wide and ergonomic, comfortable to use. The Racer Nitro 250 is equipped with a kickstarter and an electric starter, making it easy to start if the battery is low.
Reviews
Since the developers themselves admit that Fighter is an updated Nitro, they have common pros and cons. But at the same time, any motorcycle of Chinese brands has such shortcomings.
Perhaps the biggest disadvantage is the inability to adjust the valves without removing the engine. When you try to remove the valve cover, it simply rests against the frame.
- A thin layer of paint that wears off after just one season.
- Fragile plastic that bursts even if you carelessly drive off the curb.
- Quick stretch chain . Dealers offer the buyer of a motorcycle to immediately buy several copies of it in stock.
There is no need to mention the build quality. Any mechanic will tell you that when buying a Chinese bike, you need to immediately carry out the first maintenance . Check the presence of all bolts, fill in high-quality oil, bleed the brakes...
Conclusion
The Nitro 200 motorcycle does not stand out against the background of countless competitors from China. Cheap, relatively balanced , it can become normal transport for every day, but you can just as well choose another bike - you most likely won’t even notice the difference. As soon as the Racer company discontinues this model, everyone will quickly forget about it.

It's been a little over two months since I bought my first motorcycle. 4000 km have been covered, and I think it’s time to write my first review about Chinese technology.
I skated the previous season on the well-known Alpha. It was four and a half thousand kilometers of mercilessly breaking off everything possible. Any trip - something is bound to fall off/stop working. Torn clutch/gas cables, bolts from the engine/carburetor along with threads, a sticking clutch, a hole in the muffler closed by cold welding, terrible vibrations - these are just a small part of what I had to face when I bought a Chinese moped. Having quite successfully sold my motorcycle, if I may say so, I decided once and for all: never to touch Chinese motorcycles again and firmly decided to save up for a Japanese one.
Advantages
The advantages are also common to other equipment from China.
- Price . Even copies of famous brands assembled in factories in the Middle Kingdom are notable for their low prices.
- Maintainability . Parts of any unit that has a Racer sticker are easy to find in stores in the Russian outback.
- Controllability . Relatively low weight allows you to maneuver more freely on the road.
The advantages include good ergonomics. It may not be enough for long trips, but it will be enough to get to work with ease.
