The North American Apache Indians knew a lot about fishing, so for reliable movement on the water they chose the Apache inflatable boat, as the manufacturer would say in their advertising video.
The club will take a more serious approach to considering this model. Let's consider what technical characteristics and features the PVC Apache motor rowing boat, model 3500 SK, has.
We will determine the features and pay attention to the shortcomings of the Apache boat, reviews and customer opinions.
Technical characteristics of the boat Apache 3500 SK
Boat Apache 3500 SK with a motor: characteristics
The inflatable boat “Apache” 3500 SK owes its appearance to the Ufa.
This is one of the most popular models of PVC boats that are supplied to the watercraft market today.
According to the manufacturer from Bashkortostan, the APACHE brand has put into practice the desires of fishermen to safely and quickly reach fishing spots, comfortably raft on fresh water bodies, and feel confident on local rivers and lakes.
The abbreviation of the model contains a number - an indicator of the length of the boat, C - equipment with a hull (payol) and K - the presence of a keel.
The Apache 3500 SK model attracts fishermen with the presence of all the features necessary for practical access to the water:
- capacity for two couples;
- inflatable keel;
- tough slut.
Dimensions
The inflatable boat has spacious dimensions, suitable for fishing with a fun group or for a family outing.
The length of the Apache 3500 SK boat is 3500 mm and the width is 1700 mm. For long-distance rafting, a three and a half meter boat will be more than enough.
At the mouths of narrow river bodies of water, most likely, a vessel almost two meters wide will be a bit cramped. But ordinary rivers and deep-water lakes will suit the 3500 SK model.
How much does the Apache 3500 SK boat weigh? The weight of the model is 62 kg.
Seaworthiness
To create good seaworthiness, the manufacturer did not skimp on the air keel located on the bottom of the craft.
Thanks to the deadrise, the vessel is more obedient in high-speed travel and stable when performing maneuvers.
The conical shape of the stern ends of the cylinders helps you get on plane faster and also safely meet the wave.
The diameter of the side of the Apache 3500 SK boat, together with its three-meter dimensions, gives the craft good buoyancy.
Thanks to the air balancing created by the inflatable sides, passengers can comfortably move around the cockpit, and fishermen will have reliable casting fishing and safety when transporting small passengers.
Motor
The Apache 3500 SK is equipped with a stationary transom, a standard height of 381 millimeters, allowing the installation of a motor with a leg length of size S.
The boat's dimensions allow rafting under a medium-power engine with a power thrust of up to 15 horsepower.
The plywood transom is practically laminated with a waterproof coating and is useful not only for fixing the motor on the stern, but also for installing transom wheels or an anchor.
The Apache boat, when powered, demonstrates good performance and a speed of 45 km/h, sufficient to reach distant fishing grounds, take family or friends for a breeze, or go camping or into nature.
Passenger capacity
The manufacturer of the Apache 3500 SK allows the carriage of four passengers.
In fact, the cockpit of a three-meter boat, with a carrying capacity of 650 kilograms, will comfortably accommodate a couple of fishermen with gear and hand luggage.
For this purpose, the package includes two wooden benches mounted on a lyctro-likpaz fastening.
It is convenient to move them together, turning them into one wide seat, or vice versa - to move them to the required distance from each other, located in the bow and stern of the cockpit.
Good to know! The lyktros-lykpaz fastening is universal. You can attach and hang tables, shelves or fishing rod stands on it.
Material and design
Apache 3500 SK is a boat made of reinforced polyvinyl chloride with a density of 1000 grams of material per square meter.
This is considered a good indicator for an inflatable vessel, which, for the most part, present from 600 to 900 g/m2.
However, it is worth remembering that PVC boat manufacturers do not advertise the country where the boat material was purchased.
Thus, European neighbors produce PVC fabric for water motors according to tear and abrasion resistance standards.
Eastern ones prefer to focus on the high density of the material itself.
The design of the Apache 3500 SK consists of three inflatable compartments and a keel. Each section is inflated individually, as it is equipped with its own valve for this purpose.
The keel is filled in the same way, the valve of which is located at the bottom of the boat in the cockpit floor.
Such separate equipment with compartments is necessary for safety on the water.
If the ship is damaged during rafting and one of the compartments leaks, then at the expense of the rest, the boat will still stay afloat, giving passengers time to solve the problem.
It is important to know! Never go out on the water without a repair kit and mobile communications equipment. Check the contents and suitability of the repair kit while on shore.
Equipment
The manufacturer did not skimp on the equipment, equipping the Apache 3500 SK boat with far from Indian fittings and useful devices.
Apache 3500 SK is equipped with:
- a pair of oars;
- foot pump - frog;
- packing bag;
- plywood slate;
- seats;
- repair kit;
- passport.
The main thing you should pay attention to is the presence of a plywood slate, 12 mm thick.
Fans of boats with a hard floor will appreciate the collapsible deck with five sections, which are assembled into aluminum profiles and held together with stringers. For payol, the manufacturer provides a special portable bag with handles.
A pair of oars plays an important role. As befits modern models, the design of the oar is foldable, the handle is made of light aluminum alloy, and the blade is made of practical plastic. The oars are transported on inflatable sides and secured in rotating oarlocks.
The safety rail along the side is secured in a loop manner. This is convenient for passengers who use the handrail as a grip while moving through water.
On the bow, the board is equipped with six rubberized handles, two of which are designed for transporting the boat overland or launching it into the water.
The model is also equipped with two skipper handles on the cylinders and on the stern. There is a ring handle for mooring and carrying.
A small but important nuance is the side fender with a splash guard.
Accessories that you can install yourself. In this case, the Apache 3500 SK boat is supplied with a fender strip glued around the perimeter of the craft.
What is good about a fender beam?
- Firstly, it is useful when the ship hits rocks or rubs sideways on the shore. The rubberized pad creates a distance that prevents the PVC boat fabric from coming into contact with a rocky or pebble ledge.
- Secondly, the protective seal will protect the cockpit and passengers from splashes. Which is also important when the inflatable Apache under the engine reaches glide.
- Thirdly, fenders create a barrier when meeting a wave. This is not serious, but still, it has a certain balance when rafting in deep water.
Owner reviews
The Apache 150 ATV is characterized by its owners as a maneuverable model. This is facilitated by the special tire tread pattern, as well as the high suspension. In addition, wide tires provide high cross-country ability of the ATV. The device overcomes all kinds of obstacles on the road, remains stable on potholes, snowy surfaces, shifting sand or swampy forest soil.
Thanks to this versatility, the ATV has a wide range of applications. It is suitable for outdoor activities, work in the field, transportation of goods and people. This ATV is in great demand among fishermen and hunters. Apache 150 allows you to transport everything you need for outdoor activities. With the insignificant weight of the ATV itself, its carrying capacity is sufficient for most tasks.
The effective braking system stands out in particular. It increases driver safety by instantly stopping the car. The operation of the braking system does not depend on the characteristics of the working fluid and the heating of the ATV.
The Apache 150 frame was also noted, which is particularly durable. High-quality assembly ensures a significant service life of the device. There are no even minor flaws in the design. The machine can withstand small and medium impacts, and there are not even dents left on its surfaces.
One of the positive characteristics of the Apache 150 AVM is the relatively low level of toxic emissions due to minimal fuel consumption.
Is it worth taking the Apache 3500 SK boat?
- The vessel is recommended for high-speed travel with the installation of a medium-power motor from 9.8 to 15 l/s.
- The need to assemble the sleigh and inflate the keel takes additional time on shore.
- The pointed nose design eases stress on the seams, but is not practical in maintaining balance for a single alloy.
- Safe movement on the waves due to high cylinders and high landing of benches above the water.
- The high density of the fabric allows for active use of the vessel.
Price
The average cost of an AVM Apache 150 ATV with zero mileage currently ranges from 90 thousand rubles to 120 thousand Russian rubles. The final price tag of the model takes into account factors such as the year of production and additional equipment, if any are included in the package.
Among used models in the most optimal technical condition, the price of an ATV ranges from 60 thousand rubles to 75 thousand Russian rubles. The cost is traditionally influenced by the year of production, mileage, as well as technical condition.
It should be noted that you can often find a used model on the market in almost new technical condition, and at the same time the cost will be more affordable than purchasing from official dealers.
Apache Track System Review for BRP ATVs
Many years have passed since the appearance of the first specialized track kit BRP APACHE.
With universal snow tracks on the market that could fit ATVs, the introduction of the BRP APACHE tracks was revolutionary.
The BRP Can-Am version of the ATV track tracks called “Apache” was developed specifically for use on ATVs and was lightweight. These tracks were very easy to rotate and installation took no more than an hour. However, they could only be driven on snow. This limitation did not bother the first owners of APACHE tracks, since in its class it was the best offer on the market, allowing for efficient operation of the ATV in winter. The tracked set, unlike a snowmobile, made it possible to confidently and steadily move across very rough terrain in deep snow conditions and overcome snow-covered ravines with minimal risk.
Four tracks on the ATV evenly distribute its weight and guarantee good maneuverability and maximum safety.
Technology has evolved and now BRP introduces not only a specialized track version for year-round use, the APACHE 360, but also a “mountain” set of “BackCountry” tracks for mountainous areas.
Both of these options are also available in an extended modification LT (Long Track), which is designed for SSV MAVERICK X3, MAVERICK TRAIL and SPORT terrain vehicles and utility all-terrain vehicles of the TRAXTER , but can also be used on OUTLANDER ATVs .
Six-wheeled versions of quad vehicles were also not spared and the APACHE 360 LT 6×6 kit was released for them. Thus, all variants of ATVs and all-terrain vehicles can now be used with the BRP APACHE track kit.
The main point for comfortable and efficient operation of ATVs on Apaches is engine power. We recommend the track kit for all ATVs except the single-cylinder TRAXTER HD5 and all Can- Am Outlander 650/850/1000 EFI ATVs.
Since tracks have greater rolling resistance than ATV wheels, the transmission also receives increased load.
Therefore, using tracks on models with ROTAX 450 EFI and ROTAX V-570 EFI engines will not give the expected effect.
So let's take a look at the benefits of the various Can-Am APACHE kits.
Purely “winter” operation on virgin soil and deep snow involves the APACHE BACKCOUNTRY series of tracks and their extended version APACHE BACKCOUNTRY LT for SSV all-terrain vehicles.
The high snow hook of these tracks has a height of 51 mm, and the pitch between hooks is 76 mm, which ensures excellent passage of virgin areas. The aluminum slider on which the lower part of the APACHE Backcountry tracks slides is lubricated by snow that melts while driving. The design principle of the lower part of these tracks is similar to that of a snowmobile. The rear roller can move to adjust track tension. You can install the optional DPS MODULE electronic module on your BRP ATV and then in the “MAXIMUM” power steering mode, the speedometer will display the actual speed of movement, and the power steering will operate in a mode designed specifically for the use of a track kit.
The shape of the snow hooks on the APACHE Backcountry tracks allows for maximum flotation in deep and soft snow. The maximum increased contact patch between the track and the snow, a powerful external drive roller with hooks, a shock absorber with pre-tension adjustment on the front track - everything is created for the best result.
At the moment, this is the most advanced design of track kits for quad equipment for use in mountain conditions.
And here is a version of the APACHE 360 track kits for use on various surfaces.
The front track has an optimal angle of attack to reduce turning effort. Thanks to this, maneuvering on an ATV with the APACHE 360 kit is characterized by maximum accuracy, regardless of the type of soil and snow.
The BRP APACHE 360 frame has a combined steel and aluminum structure. The lower part, made of durable steel, carries the rollers, and the upper, lightweight aluminum part is the base for housing the track drive roller. The front track shock absorber can be pre-adjusted by changing its stiffness and the angle of attack of the track.
Unlike the “snowmobile design” of the rear track of the APACHE Backcountry snow kit, the APACHE 360 model has rollers on both the front and rear tracks.
The SSV ATV version is called the APACHE 360 LT and has a longer rear track.
And the modification for use on 6-wheel Can-Am OUTLANDER 6×6 is called “APACHE 360 6×6” and has a completely different rear track geometry, designed for use on two axles.
My motorcycle
And so, hello again) I am fulfilling the promise made in the first post, and I present to you a brief overview of my Apache 150 motorcycle. Technical characteristics.
WORKING VOLUME (CM3): 147 COOLING SYSTEM: air MAXIMUM POWER FOR: 13.5 hp DIMENSIONS LENGTH/WIDTH/HEIGHT (MM.): 1976/743/1100 WHEELBASE (MM.): 1260 GROUND CLEARANCE ( MM.): 165 SEAT HEIGHT: 780 DRY WEIGHT (KG.): 135 NUMBER OF GEARS GEARBOX: 5 DRIVE TYPE: chain FRONT SUSPENSION: telescopic fork REAR SUSPENSION (TYPE): gas mono-shock absorber with 5 adjustments FRONT TIRE SIZE /REAR: 90-90-17 100/80/18 BRAKE TYPE FRONT/REAR: disc/drum
The maximum speed of this device is about 110 km/h. I’ll say right away that I haven’t accelerated over 90 yet because... I’m still just rolling in and I just haven’t been able to go on good, long straights on which I can develop this speed) Although at 90 it’s already starting to blow away from the bike and I have to bend slightly towards the steering wheel. I like the suspension, it’s very soft, and at 50 it swallows speed bumps without any problems. The motorcycle steers well at low speeds, and also at high speeds, but due to lack of experience, sometimes I turn the bike into a turn at the wrong time and break out in a cold sweat a couple of times)) The information panel, instrument indicators are easy to read, the speedometer is located in the center, which is good for me as a beginner , it’s more convenient and familiar to see, although lately I’ve been looking at the tachometer more often, so that the revolutions don’t go into the “red zone”.
What else can I write? It’s comfortable to sit on the Apache, the seating position is classic, the seats are good, everything is clearly visible in the mirrors when driving, at least to the left) there are folding footrests for the passenger, and most importantly there are protective bars with them so you can ride more calmly)
I’ll say a little about the engine, it holds the revs well, pulls briskly, if you release the clutch sharply with the gas on, ride on one wheel a little) Honestly, when I drove to the parking lot for the first time, I did just that, the feeling is indescribable) I’ll tell you about this first trip later. When developing the engine, cunning Indians used the secret Intake & Exhaust Surge technology, they say this is why the engine easily responds to the slightest vibration of the throttle and rushes vigorously if you sharply unscrew it all the way. There is also a dual-mode digital ignition designed to reduce the already low fuel consumption.
The gearbox seems to have no problems, neutral is quite easy to find, and it shifts clearly. In general, the only disadvantages of this motorcycle I can name are the light bulbs on the dashboard, the original ones quickly become unusable and there seem to be very few problems with spare parts. But! The previous owner has already changed the bulbs, and I hope there are no problems with spare parts for the ’08 motorcycle, at least serious ones.
Well, and most importantly, the appearance IMHO is a solid 5 and the prize from Top Gear in 2006 is by no means an accident.
That's enough for now) We need to prepare for the theory in gib2d. This Thursday I hope to get A category. By the way, I would be glad to have information about the equipment used to hand it over to the traffic police on Nagatinskaya. I think it would be the height of arrogance to come on your own motorcycle)
PS Leave your questions and wishes in the comments, I’ll try to answer) PPS The previous owner took a photo for sale, I don’t have a camera right now) Yes, I got it without panniers.
