Outboard motor Yamaha FL350AETX 350 hp. four-stroke

Buying a Yamaha FL350AETX two-stroke outboard motor is worth it for those who want to get maximum quality from a world-famous brand.

Engine

Outboard motor Yamaha FL350AETX with a power of 350 hp. has a volume of 5330 cm3. Number of cylinders – 8, cylinder diameter 94 mm, piston stroke 96 mm. The maximum rpm range is from 5000 to 6000.

The motor operation is controlled by a microcomputer. Lubrication of moving parts occurs through the crankcase. When the oil pressure is low, a warning signal sounds. The motor is water-cooled; a test hole is provided to check the functionality of the system. The exhaust gases are released through the propeller.

Control

The Yamaha FL350AETX engine is controlled and fuel is supplied remotely.

The throttle grip has marks indicating optimal engine operating modes. The engine starting system is an electric starter. There are 3 gears (forward, neutral and reverse), gear shifting occurs on the body. The resistance force when turning the motor is adjustable (large at high speeds, and small at low speeds). An emergency stop rope is provided for safety.

Peculiarities

The Yamaha FL350AETX outboard motor is designed for a transom height of 635 mm and has a total weight of 375 kg.

The engine is covered with five layers of primer and paint.

Thanks to the shallow water swimming system, you can safely travel along the coast.

The propeller is well protected, allowing you to get as close to shore as you need in dark water lakes or shallow waters.

The propeller is three-bladed, aluminum, and has a left-hand rotation.

The method of changing trim and tilt is hydraulic tilt or hydraulic trim and tilt.

Pressing a single Start/Stop button allows you to start and stop a multi-motor unit.

The Yamaha Digital Network System II includes new 6Y9 gauges, a high-resolution color LCD display, new start/stop keypads, control units, accessories and a NMEA-2000® gateway.

The powerful, fuel-injected 60° V8 engine features dual overhead camshafts (DOHC), variable valve timing (VCT), and lightweight forged pistons. A special system charges two batteries simultaneously.

The VCT system, depending on the operating mode, changes the valve timing, improving engine performance. Peak torque ranging from 2,000 to 3,500 rpm makes it extremely easy for large boats to get on plane and gain speed.

The electronic throttle and drive assist system allows you to precisely select the engine speed for trolling in the range of 600-1000 rpm in 50 rpm increments. In addition, the operation of two and three engines is synchronized.

To eliminate the shock of shifting modes, Yamaha has developed and patented the Shift Dampening System (SDS). It dampens vibrations and noise for smoother, quieter gear shifts.

When installing twin motors, when adjacent propellers rotate in the same direction, the boat is pulled to the side, making it difficult to control, especially at high speeds. The F350's engine allows for counter-rotating propellers, which ensures ideal boat handling.

The microcomputer continuously monitors and processes incoming data to ensure smooth operation and optimal control settings. The computer connection port allows you to instantly receive service information.

The engine is made in Japan, the product warranty is 2 years.

Owner reviews of the Yamaha F 350 AETX

  • Dementy, Priozersk. Of course, I wish everyone to have such an engine. Such a miracle of technology will come in handy in every household that has lovers of watercraft and everything connected with it. In 2018, I became the owner of a Yamaha F 350 AETX engine, which simply works without whims. I gave him the command and he went. I mean that it is equipped with remote control. The gearbox is also remote, with three positions - forward, reverse and neutral. Gasoline consumption is quite high - around 100-odd liters per hour. I’ve been filling up with 92-grade gasoline—everything seems to be fine for four months now. There is no overheating, noise and vibration are minimal. The engine is adapted to heavy loads and is designed to transport heavy sea vessels. For example, I have a five-seater boat with a high carrying capacity. Any fishing luggage will fit into it. The engine will pull it out without any problems, because the power reserve is huge. Over time, I’ll come up with something new in which to test the 350-horsepower Yamaha.
  • David, Ryazan. Yamaha F350 AETX is a motor for all occasions, endowed with unsurpassed performance characteristics. This is a real flagship of the Yamaha lineup, and even compared to its closest competitors. I'm serious, because I compared my Yamaha with other engines of similar power - for example, with Honda and Suzuki. Each has its pros and cons, but the Yamaha seems more balanced. Yes, it is gluttonous - it consumes 100-110 liters of gasoline per hour. You need a huge gas tank, at least 300-350 liters, or even more. Remote control was beneficial, as was the build quality along with anti-corrosion protection. The trim and angle of the engine can be changed using an electric drive, and not manually, as with some competitors. I will also note the function that allows you to raise the motor when the water level is low. Thus, this will protect the propeller from obstacles “hidden” under water. Unfortunately, there is no escape from noise and vibration, given the eight cylinders and large displacement.
  • Andrey, Lipetsk region. Best motor I've ever owned. It has one drawback - high gasoline consumption. The rest is beyond praise. The ergonomics of the arrangement of instruments and switches inspires respect. And in general, by many criteria, the 350-horsepower Yamaha looks better than its analogues, which are not much cheaper. Therefore, it makes sense to overpay for a high-quality and functional product, equipped with a set of useful options. The engine is equipped with an electronic start, which allows you to start on the first try. I’ll also pay attention to the transistor ignition and fuel injection system. There is also a DOHC twin camshaft system and 32 valves. The displacement is 5.3 liters and the power is 350 horsepower. The torque is huge and available from low speeds - almost like electric motors. Actually, the engine has enormous potential. That is why I use it together with a large yacht; there is plenty of power. Gasoline consumption is 108-110 liters per hour.
  • Maxim, Moscow region. My fishermen friends and I chipped in and bought this miracle of technology. The Yamaha F350 AETX is a versatile engine with extensive functionality and unlimited performance. But seriously, the power of 350 horses must also be used wisely. The motor capabilities are enough for all four users. In addition, there is plenty of work on a huge boat. The Yamaha F350 AETX is a very expensive motor and a powerful motor, but it is now our source of income. Its power reserve is enough to “dive” far away to the middle of the lake or sea to make a solid catch. We not only have fishing gear, but also underwater equipment. There are many things, and the possibilities have increased thanks to the 350-horsepower Yamaha. By the way, it consumes 110 liters per hour of 92 gasoline.

Video

The Yamaha Grizzly 350 has the simplest possible all-wheel drive system. The front gearbox is connected via a separate electric motor, which in turn operates when switching the 2WD or 4WD modes on the steering wheel. The transmission system includes forward gear (F), reverse gear (R), as well as neutral gear (N). The absence of a downshift in this case is fully compensated by the high engine power. Often in reviews, owners state that off-road equipment does not need additional gears at all. Therefore, for any type of riding, the ATV only needs the F mode range.

The equipment is suitable for both active recreation and household tasks. It should be noted that the greatest popularity came precisely because of its operational capabilities, which in turn are due to:

  1. Compact overall dimensions, making the ATV easy to maneuver in tight spaces.
  2. A textured tread pattern that provides increased traction on almost any surface.
  3. The presence of two spacious luggage platforms, which together provide the ability to transport cargo weighing up to 120 kilograms.
  4. Sufficient traction force to allow you to tow any heavy loads.

Reviews

  1. I purchased this ATV back in 2013 at the beginning of winter. Although I bought it used, it was in almost perfect technical condition. As it turned out in practice, the ATV still does not have enough power in some cases, but this is not entirely critical. For walks in nature and driving through the forest, it’s a very good device. The ATV is quite comfortable, equipped with a comfortable seat, and the steering is quite simple. There have been no technical problems yet, but the transmission still raises some doubts. Lately it hasn't been working properly. Otherwise, this model does not have any disadvantages. For the money the equipment is pretty good.
  2. I really like riding motorcycles like this. What I especially like about these cars is that they can go almost anywhere even SUVs can get stuck. And if the ATV also has four-wheel drive, then there really are no obstacles in its path. I myself am the owner of an 800 cc model, but recently I also purchased a Yamaha Grizzly 350. It has small overall dimensions, which makes it very easy to maneuver, and also safe. The seats are comfortable, the suspension is soft. My configuration includes a hydraulic power steering mechanism, which greatly simplifies control, especially in rather difficult situations. There are no complaints about it, the running-in takes place without any breakdowns.
