Review and technical characteristics of irbis vr 1
The powerful road motorcycle Irbis vr 1 is distinguished by an unremarkable design, ease of operation and good technical characteristics
. The reliable design makes the irbis vr 1 well controlled, which is important when operating on Russian roads. Most of the parts are metal, which allows you not to worry about the appearance of the bike when dropped
The absence of a large number of details in the design indicates the simplicity and restraint of the exterior. Photos of the irbis vr 1 demonstrate how a road motorcycle can be uncomplicated, but at the same time, stylish and attractive. The dashboard has nothing superfluous. Only a speedometer, tachometer and a few indicators. The quality of workmanship is beyond doubt. All parts are well selected and adjusted, which makes the ride comfortable and safe.
Technical characteristics of irbis vr 1
The powerful four-stroke engine produces 13.2 hp. The cooling system is air. The engine is started using a kick starter and an electric starter. Electronic ignition installed. Fuel is supplied by a carburetor. There are no strict requirements for fuel quality. The manufacturer recommends gasoline with an octane rating of 92. The maximum speed of the irbis vr 1 is 140 km/h. This is quite enough for use in rough terrain.
The five-speed gearbox of the Irbis VR 1 motorcycle works reliably. Gears shift clearly, without much effort. The suspension is adjusted quite well. The front fork is an inverted telescopic fork, the rear fork is a pendulum with two shock absorbers, thanks to which the motorcycle copes well with uneven roads. The braking system is also considered quite reliable. The front brake is disc, the rear is mechanical, drum. The brakes work effectively in extreme conditions.
Advantages of the model
- Low price and maintenance costs.
- Simple and discreet appearance.
- Comfortable straight fit.
- Easy to read dashboard.
- Good lighting technology.
- Economical fuel consumption.
Disadvantages of the model
- Not suitable for long-distance travel - the suspension is too stiff.
- The chain has to be tightened quite often.
- The brakes are not adjusted enough.
In general, reviews of irbis vr 1 are positive. It is easy to operate and maintain, affordable in terms of price, which allows a beginner to master it very quickly. Irbis VR 1 is equipped with good lighting technology, which makes driving at night safe. The seat height allows a person of average height to easily drive the vehicle. In a matter of months, the motorcycle became one of the most popular in its class due to its optimal price/price ratio.
Main competitors
- Road motorcycle Yamaha YBR 125. This model entered the market more than ten years ago and has firmly taken a leading position in the market of budget road motorcycles. By the way, it is also assembled in China, and is distinguished by its very high reliability.
- Honda CB 125. Another Japanese fighter in the market of small-capacity motorcycles for beginners. In all respects it is similar to YBR 125.
- Stels SB 200. A very popular bike in Russia, from a technical point of view it differs little from the Irbis.
Owner reviews
At one time I bought an Irbis VR 1 motorcycle new from a dealership, rode it for a year, sold it later and forgot it, like a bad dream. Half the nuts are not tightened, there are metal shavings in the original oil, the wires are hanging in snot. During the first 2000 km, the left steering weight came loose and was lost, the gearbox rod became loose, and the original chain, apparently made from recycled beer cans, stretched (had to be replaced). In total, I rode the bike a little less than 5,000 km, sold it to another lucky person and bought a Honda Transalp 400. Sergey, Nizhny Novgorod, Irbis VR-1 '2013
Before purchasing, I read reviews on forums for a long time, since I had never heard anything about Irbis before. When I saw the bike live in the showroom, overall I liked it. I liked the price even more. The technical characteristics did not play a significant role; I took the motorcycle to go on business (I live outside the city) for short distances. Well worth the money. There were assembly flaws, I checked everything myself, and since then there have been no problems. I drove it for 4 years until some pioneers stole it. Alexander, Volokolamsk, Irbis VR-1 '2013
In short, you can buy it for your own money, especially if your hands grow from the right place. You can easily find a used one for 30 thousand. Learning to drive and turn nuts is the best thing. Spare parts are easily selected from other Chinese. Ilya, Yaroslavl, Irbis VR-1 '2014
Advantages
- The scooter has passed all expert test drives and crash tests.
- The large trunk can accommodate bulky cargo, and the case is securely fastened.
- The engine and alarm system can be turned on remotely from the key fob.
- Specified in those. In the passport, the speed of 90 km/h is cruising, in reality the scooter accelerates to 120 km/h.
- Comfortable seat for 2 people, in which you do not get tired even during a long trip.
- Stylish appearance that makes Nirvana similar to real motorcycles, not teenage scooters.
- A good plastic lining can withstand the scooter tipping over.
- High seating position, you can ride a scooter over curbs.
- Economical gasoline consumption - no more than 2.9 liters per 100 km.
- Ability to climb even steep hills when the scooter is fully loaded.
- Inexpensive spare parts (for example, crankshaft bearings cost from 210 rubles, piston rings - from 180 rubles).
Description
Quite recently, this Chinese manufacturer had the opportunity to present another of its inventions to the public. In addition to its beautiful appearance and decent technical performance, it also has outstanding performance features that allow it to serve for a very long time.
We are talking about Irbis VR-1. It combines exactly those qualities that are in demand among buyers in Asia and Europe. Manufacturers had to try hard to combine a powerful 13.2 horsepower engine, modest dimensions and unobtrusive design in this motorcycle. However, in addition to all of the above, the Irbis VR-1 boasts a reliable steel frame, a comfortable design with comfortable seats, a spacious gas tank and many other small but very important nuances.
Pros and cons of Irbis TTR 150
Advantages
- Affordable price. For less than 70 thousand rubles you can now buy a brand new Irbis TTR 150, the technical characteristics of which are worth that money. In addition, it will be under warranty, albeit limited due to extreme operating conditions.
- Light weight. Of course, there are lighter pit bikes, but for a 150 cc model, whose level of comfort is comparable to a light enduro, the result is still not bad.
- Surprisingly good suspensions, with the discount that they are designed for a light biker. The front fork, by the way, is of an inverted type, which is practically never found on budget motorcycles.
- Easy maintenance. You can do everything yourself in the garage, armed with an ordinary suitcase with tools.
- Cost of maintenance. The Irbis TTR 150 won’t cost a pretty penny, owner reviews confirm this. Spare parts for it are very cheap and available.
- Excellent maneuverability. It is worth saying thanks to the competent weight distribution coupled with low weight and compact dimensions.
Flaws
- Dealers mainly sell copies of the TTP 150, released several years ago. After purchase, you will need to immediately carry out full maintenance, since after such a long period of inactivity, rubber elements, wiring and everything else usually require attention.
- No oil filter in the engine. Typically Chinese “saving on matches”.
- There is no subframe under the rear wing. Apparently this was a reason for tuning, but the solution is still strange.
- Judging by the reviews of the Irbis TTR 150, there are often minor assembly flaws such as not fully tightened bolts and wiring hanging from everywhere. When purchasing a used copy, these shortcomings will most likely have already been eliminated by the previous owner.
Results
If after purchasing this motorcycle you feel that the sound of its engine is not velvety enough, then this difficulty can be dealt with in a few minutes. The design of the Irbis VR-1 muffler is such that it can easily be transformed into a direct-flow muffler - you just need to remove the plug from it and unscrew several fasteners.
After these events, the sonorous bass of your motorcycle will not leave anyone indifferent, and you will be able to enjoy its rich sound during your rides. Among other things, this acoustic accompaniment plays another important role - it draws attention to the bike as a road user.
As a result, we can conclude that this vehicle will appeal to young drivers who will happily use it in the warm season for trips on personal matters or for walks.
Description Alfer VR 2000 Enduro 2003
Description of the Alfer VR 2000 Enduro 2003 motorcycle is in the queue for publication of the article. Announcement: Today, for almost every new motorcycle that comes into being, marketers strive to carve out their own niche. This one is a road sport, this one is a recreational enduro. But what class should we include a motorcycle that has a little bit of everything? A good bike should have a reliable engine, comfortable ergonomics and simple controls.
Alfer VR 2000 Enduro is a motorcycle not sold in Russia. Despite the fact that good models of motorcycles have a very respectable price, and the season for their use is relatively short, the motorcycle market is developing rapidly. And if you believe the words of dealers, then some models of recently released motorcycles are selling like hot cakes at the beginning of the season, and the models brought to Russia are clearly not enough to fully satisfy consumer demand.
A motorcycle has long ceased to be an alternative to a car, and the times when this equipment was bought only because there was not enough money for a full-fledged car are forgotten. Nowadays, two-wheelers can be called technological marvels in many cases, and their cost can be compared with that of prestigious cars.
Many people have started buying motorcycles for hobby purposes as riding or even collecting them has become a good pastime for many people. Many motorcycles, for example the Alfer VR 2000 Enduro, whose technical characteristics make it possible to call the model a prestigious brand, are in demand among both beginners and experienced motorcyclists.
Currently, it is impossible to purchase a new Alfer VR 2000 Enduro motorcycle from the 2003 model year, since their production stopped 13 years ago. At the same time, the Alfer VR 2000 Enduro has excellent technical characteristics, so many are eager to purchase, if not a new, then at least a used version.
Motorcycles with an engine capacity of 249 cc. see, appeared as a result of long work of inventors who sought to create a model that was not inferior in characteristics to other versions of the motorcycle. In some cases, these models are not only not inferior, but also ahead of other motorcycles, as they have minimal fuel consumption and other excellent parameters.
Alfer VR 2000 Enduro belongs to a common class of motorcycles with engine capacity from 125 to 250 kb. cmAs a rule, these are light and relatively low-power motorcycles. Here you will get flexible control, easy steering and low weight of the motorcycle. Therefore, such motorcycles are suitable for almost every beginner, regardless of their characteristics. The exception is motorcycles with two-stroke engines of the “sport” and “cross” classes, since bikes of this class are distinguished by more power and an extremely sharp response to the throttle, which also does not make them obedient to control.
Go to the entire model range of Alfer motorcycles, on this page you can find Alfer VR 2000 Enduro motorcycles from other years of production and information about them
Successful design
In addition, motorcyclists who own this vehicle note the complete absence of vibration from a running engine. This observation is explained by its superior design and excellent balance. In addition, the rear shock absorbers, due to their multi-coil structure, allow their stiffness to be adjusted.
Together, these features provide excellent controllability and maneuverability, inaccessible to other types of equipment.
Specifications
Engine
The extremely archaic engine of the Irbis Intruder motorcycle is a simple air-cooled power unit with a power of 12.2 hp. This is frankly not enough for dynamic driving, so it’s not easy for the bike to reach a speed of more than 90 km/h, especially if it’s hampered by a strong headwind. But this engine also has undeniable advantages - it has a long service life, pulls well at low and medium speeds, digests any gasoline and is generally not prone to breakdowns.
Transmission
Structurally, the 5-speed gearbox is not far removed from the engine, that is, it is extremely simple and generally reliable. But it’s far from ideal - judging by the reviews, most owners are faced with the problem of finding a neutral gear. This does not indicate a breakdown, but rather a flaw, and this little thing really begins to irritate over time. However, it is still possible to adapt to the behavior of the gearbox, and if you turn on neutral not after stopping, but half a second before it, when the motorcycle is about to stop, then it is much easier to catch.
Chassis and brakes
The suspensions of the Irbis Intruder 200 are mediocre - too weak and primitive. They were clearly created with the average citizen of the People's Republic of China in mind, who is inferior in weight to the average Russian, and under a tall biker the Irbis Intruder 200 motorcycle immediately sags. Even without a passenger, the front fork often breaks and the wheel touches the inside of the fender, and the two rear shock absorbers don't behave much better. The brakes are also quite weak; the front wheel has one brake disc with a 1-piston caliper, and the rear wheel has a drum.
Electronics
There are no auxiliary systems, and the electronics themselves are no more complicated than in some Minsk or Sova. The only differences are the ability to start the engine from the starter and a USB port, but all these functions are implemented extremely simply. After purchase, it is also recommended to check how the wires are laid - at the factory they are sometimes laid out carelessly, and they can fray due to vibrations.
Weight and dimensions
Dry weight is 130 kg, and all these kilograms are felt in full, since the center of gravity is located quite high. In terms of dimensions, the bike is comparable to any of its “classmates” - for one driver it is quite comfortable, but if there is a passenger on the seat it will become a bit cramped. But it will not take up much space in the garage, and it is quite possible to park it with the car, squeezed into the space between it and the wall, even if there is not much space.
Controllability
The Intruder 200 motorcycle feels confident on rough terrain; it is not afraid of either wet ground or liquid mud. But on the asphalt, all its shortcomings are immediately felt - off-road tires are not conducive to sharp maneuvers, and the lack of traction does not allow for quick overtaking.
Fuel consumption
The gas tank holds 13.9 liters of gasoline, which is easily enough for 300 km of road without refueling, since the average consumption does not exceed 4 liters. The engine is not at all picky about fuel quality and readily consumes any gasoline. Moreover, there are serious suspicions that he is generally capable of working on anything that burns.
First look
Obviously, they didn’t hire designers to develop a cheap bike, so outwardly the Irbis VR 1 is indistinguishable from a whole bunch of other similar motorcycles. However, it would be naive to expect any delights from the most budget-friendly motorcycles, right? The Irbis bike is designed according to the simplest and most classic formula, proven over decades. Strictly speaking, there is nothing to say about his appearance - a motorcycle and a motorcycle. Nothing extra. And who will say that this is bad? As they say, it does not affect the speed.
From a design point of view, it’s also nothing special. Chinese engineers placed a 197 cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine with a power of 14.4 hp (torque - 13.5 nm) . Like most other small-capacity engines, Irbis VR 1 loves high speeds, reaching its peak power at around 7500 rpm. the declared maximum speed of 110 km/h , however, after 80 km/h there is no dynamics, so you have to open the gas to full and be patient. Interestingly, there is no noticeable difference in dynamics with 125 cc models, such as the Yamaha YBR 125 or Honda CB 125, although the engine capacity of the Irbis is a third larger. The 5-speed gearbox works quite smoothly. And there is also a Kickstarter!
Due to its low weight and modest dimensions, the Irbis motorcycle handles quite well. But the Irbis’s brakes leave much to be desired - if the front disc brake is even more or less effective, although it lacks information content, then the mechanical drum on the rear wheel of the Irbis is practically useless. And with its “help” it’s easy to lock the rear wheel. Conclusion - the rear brake on the Irbis VR 1 model remains as an auxiliary one. They can slow down, but you shouldn't count on it.
Advantages and disadvantages
Advantages
- Good value for money, balanced technical characteristics of Irbis Z1. Despite its claim to be a “real sportbike”, it may not be one, but, nevertheless, it is a really good motorcycle for its price.
- Excellent wind protection, with which you can forget about the headwind and water flying from the road into the helmet visor. And in cool weather the biker will freeze less.
- Modest fuel consumption - up to 3 liters per 100 km, and, according to reviews from Irbis Z1 owners, the bike handles AI-92 perfectly, unless, of course, you fill it up at some dubious gas stations.
- Low weight makes it easier to maneuver, especially in dense city traffic, and reduces the chances of a beginner dropping the motorcycle.
Flaws
- Due to the location of the instrument panel, a tall biker will have to tilt his head down to look at it, which is not very convenient.
- Since the model is not very common, spare parts are not always easy to find in stock.
- Due to minor assembly defects, after purchase, you need to “put in” your hands to tighten all the bolts and nuts that are not fully tightened, and in general, personally recheck everything.
- The technical characteristics of the Irbis Z1, in particular the acceleration dynamics, are not enough to feel confident on the track.
- Due to the high windage and low weight, the motorcycle is noticeably blown away by the side wind.
The role of the flag in the carburetor
It is not for nothing that the carburetor on Buran is equipped with a special flag that serves to open an additional channel. This unit plays a critical role in power characteristics, starting a cold engine in winter, and the speed of warming up the engine on a snowmobile to operating condition.
Rice. 2. The main elements of the Mikuni carburetor: 1 – flag, 2 – fuel intake fitting, 3 – adjustment screw, 4 – pumping fitting.
If you put the flag up, the engine begins to receive a significantly larger amount of fuel. At this moment, the snowmobile operates at increased crankshaft speeds. The use of a flag greatly facilitates the operation of the entire mechanism in the cold season: autumn, winter, early spring, frost and cold.
Drivers who constantly operate snowmobiles throughout the autumn-winter season use this device when starting a cold engine in the morning. Once the mechanism has cooled down overnight, it is much easier to start if you lift the flag up. Fast, high-quality start-up and accelerated warm-up greatly facilitate the operation of the snowmobile.
After starting a cold engine, you should thoroughly warm up the mechanism that has cooled in the cold overnight. The raised flag allows you to do this much faster than the standard mode. The snowmobile will run for a while on suction, quickly warm up and you can hit the road.
A well-warmed-up engine runs steadily, without pops, jerks, or difficulties. After normal warming up, the flag moves down and takes its standard position. Then the machine is operated in its usual operating mode.
Once the engine has reached operating temperature, a small volume of the fuel mixture is sufficient for stable, uninterrupted operation. In a similar rhythm on a snowmobile, the engine enters an economical fuel consumption mode and can be operated for a long period of time.
Review of Irbis LX 50
The sporty design of the scooter catches your eye at first glance: its similarity to a sports bike sets Irbis apart from its competitors. Large front optics are not only a decoration of the model, but also excellent lighting equipment, illuminating the road at night. The maximum speed of the scooter is 90 km/h, which is quite good for motor vehicles of this category. The motorcycle is a two-seater, there is additional space for a passenger, but the extra load affects the acceleration dynamics.
The Irbis XL 50 is equipped with off-road 12-inch tires, which increases its cross-country ability and allows you to move on dirt roads, and a two-stroke carburetor engine paired with an electronic ignition system.
Since the Irbis company positions its products as off-road motor vehicles, the engineers equip the scooter with reinforced suspension, which cannot but please and make you want to try it on a dirt road. Other features of the model include an alarm system, a remote engine start function, aluminum wheels, a tachometer, front disc brakes and a telescopic front fork.
The seating position is comfortable thanks to the large, comfortable seat, which reduces the load on the lumbar region and allows you to comfortably cover long distances on the scooter. The instrument panel of the Irbis LX 50 is informative and ergonomic: all instruments are at the driver’s fingertips. Due to the fact that the scooter cannot be classified as a compact motorcycle, you will have to get used to the controls. The braking system is smooth and effective: stopping even at high speed without jerking. Disc brakes are installed at the front, drum brakes at the rear.
Total
Irbis VR-1 does not stand out from its many competitors. It’s probably not worth recommending this particular model to anyone, but it’s not inferior to most of its Chinese counterparts. And thanks to the affordable price, many beginners had the opportunity to join the ranks of motorcyclists without significant expenses, purchasing an overall good utilitarian bike for a very modest amount.

Zid 150 (YX150-23) – technical characteristics
In 1954, the first city motorcycle appeared from the gates of the Degtyarev plant (formerly a defense plant). The model was constantly refined, driving characteristics and appearance were improved. On its basis, cross-country, three-wheeled (with a sidecar), and other variations were developed. This is how the Voskhod trademark appeared in the Union.
The reluctance of the defense industry to look towards the ordinary consumer almost killed the idea in the bud. Today the plant is operating, motorcycles are a priority, but they are no longer Voskhods.
In difficult times, the Chinese appeared in production, updated technology, concluded contracts, and Lifan, and subsequently ZiD-Lifan, began to roll off the assembly line. Today you can find motorcycles, scooters, and ATVs under the ZiD brand. One of the representatives of the new generation was the ZiD 150 - a completely Russian development, but with a Chinese “heart”.
Specifications
By agreement between the enterprises, Russian engineers do not touch the motor. Thanks to this, you can use original Lifan spare parts for repairs/maintenance.
This 1-cylinder, 4-stroke engine produces:
- working volume - 149 cm 3;
- power - 11 hp;
- number of valves - 4;
- cooling - air;
- fuel supply - carburetor;
- ignition - transistor;
- start - electric starter (there is a kick starter);
- Tank volume - 14 l.
Unpretentiousness to fuel is noted. Recommended gasoline is not lower than AI-92.
Transmission and clutch
The bike is equipped with a 5-speed gearbox. According to user reviews, it does not cause problems, it works smoothly.
All gears are located immediately, there are no problems with neutral. The numbers are chosen in such a way that frequent switching is not required, but if you want to quickly pick up speed, the dynamics are very good for a small boat.
- Multi-disc clutch, oil bath, power transmission - cable.
- The main drive is also standard - chain.
Brakes
The only major difference between the ZiD and the Lifan was the braking system. It was almost completely copied from the YBR125 (Yamaxa, Japan).

Pros and cons of Irbis GS 150
Advantages
Low price. Both the motorcycle itself and any spare parts for it are cheap, and even the poorest motorcyclist can afford them. In addition, it is usually not difficult to find them in stock.
Very simple design. By servicing the Irbis GS 150 in a garage, you can not only save a lot of money, but also learn to understand the design of motorcycles in general.
Light weight
Experienced bikers, of course, don’t care; they can easily handle 400-kilogram monsters, but for beginners this is important. It will be very easy to cope with the weight of the Irbis GS 150.
Versatility
On this motorcycle you can equally well ride to work in traffic jams or carry sacks of potatoes to the dacha. The GS 150 is a durable and very durable device, which can also be repaired using a set of wrenches, a screwdriver and a sledgehammer.
Flaws
- Weak paintwork. It is really very easy to scratch it, for example, with a zipper on a jacket.

Practicality and safety
We are talking about a narrow sports steering wheel, durable aluminum alloy wheels, high-quality headlight optics and practical turn indicators with LED elements. An equally important argument is the elements of passive safety - convenient mirrors help the driver keep the road situation under control.
Surely such rich equipment and practicality explain the commitment of buyers to the Irbis VR-1 200cc, reviews of which are full of gratitude for its reliability and unpretentiousness.
