Reviews from Baltmotors Motard owners
Baltmotors Motard 250 DD, 2013
This is my second season driving Baltmotors Motard. It’s put together well, there are no big jambs, but it’s noticeable that it’s China. Not a full-fledged enduro - the suspension is weak for this. Not a full-fledged “motard” - the engine is rather weak (21 hp at 140 kg of weight). But I love it - it handles like a bicycle, it flies past speed bumps without slowing down. A purely utilitarian motorcycle for walking on asphalt - dry primers. There's not an ounce of sport in it. “Maximum speed” on asphalt is 130, cruising on the highway 90-110. The Baltmotors Motard eats 3.5 liters, and with the “hole” fully open – up to 5.5 liters. The ideal motorcycle for the leisurely meditating pensioner. Or a wise young man who understands life and is in no hurry. Spare parts from China at auction, almost everything is there.
Advantages
: pendant. Controllability. Price.
Flaws
: low power. The suspension is not for aggressive driving, but more for comfort.
Baltmotors Motard 200 DD, 2011
BM Motard 200, 2011, 200 cm3, 16 hp, 5 manual transmission, single-cylinder four-stroke, 126 kilos of pure pleasure. The name is "Mosquito". An hour after purchase: it feels absolutely flawless. It starts and drives. Very beautiful booming sound (surprised). Lightweight, maneuverable, picks up quickly. Along the ring road they accelerated it to 110 km/h (2 people on horseback). But that's not what he was created for. Excellent shock absorbers. It swallows any obstacles so that you have asphalt almost everywhere. The front brake is terrible because of the shock absorbers. You squeeze it out, and the motorcycle sinks down almost half a meter. Roller coaster. Baltmotors Motard is very tall, as it should be, I can barely reach the ground with my feet. Because of this, it is inconvenient to maneuver in place; he tries to lie down. The next day after the purchase, they took me out to the offroad to learn, ride, and enjoy. I folded the motorcycle three times, lost control on potholes and bumps, and couldn’t hold it. The first time it was unpleasant to fall, then it was fun. According to the results of the falls: the front brake handle is bent, the mirrors are crumpled (I thought of unscrewing them in the mud too late), the plastic is scratched here and there, and I have a lot of bruises and bruises and everything is dirty. And this is just for 1 day of ownership. It's a pity for him, but what can you do?
Advantages
: energy-intensive suspension. Unpretentiousness. Price.
Flaws
: no serious ones.
Baltmotors Motard 200 DD, 2015
Dakar 250 Motard. The mileage is currently 3500 km. I service it myself. The first breakdown (I’ll write approximately the mileage, because I don’t remember exactly): the tail with the number 1300 km fell off, no matter how much I tried to strengthen it, there was no point. The last fall from “Willy”, all the turn signals and lights fell off. The bolt on the cylinder head, through the axis of the rocker arm for supplying oil to the cylinder head, broke off (burst), the oil “gasted” to the rear wheel, everything was covered in oil. This was me in Chelyabinsk, mileage 1100 km (thank God it wasn’t on the highway because there are no control devices). I removed the camshaft bed, drilled and tightened a normal bolt. The turn signals stopped working, the wire inside the relay broke off, soldered it, and assembled it so that the board would not dangle inside the case. 1400 km the pipe connecting the carburetor to the cylinder head burst (XX disappeared), picked it up and installed it. 2800 km - the bolt of the drive star came loose (tightened it), I noticed it in time, it would have flown away, there are cases when the bolt breaks off, then you will have to fly in captivity. The low beam lamp burned out at 2000 km, installed xenon. The clutch cable broke at 2500 km. I change the oil every 500 km, then after 1500 km.
Advantages
: maneuverability. Acceleration.
Flaws
: many minor breakdowns.
Baltmotors Motard 200 DD, 2015
The first impressions while driving the Baltmotors Motard home: light, tall, comfortable, narrow and nimble, like a bicycle. King of traffic jams. Yes, this was later completely confirmed. Traffic jams are the element of this device. The steering wheel and mirrors are higher than the mirrors of cars, and the weight and short wheelbase allows you to immediately change the row spacing if the cars in front are too tightly packed that even this moped won’t fit through. Build quality: it is at an acceptable level, although not without fault, especially in the electrical department. Some of the manufacturer's decisions are very controversial and require some refinement. There are childhood diseases, but they are relatively easy to treat. Like any motorcycle, and especially a Chinese motorcycle, it needs regular maintenance and monitoring of the condition of its components. The book that came with the motorcycle indicates a service interval of 5,000 km, which is very optimistic. I change the oil and oil filter every 2500 km. It must be taken into account that in city conditions, when traffic jams give way to free areas where everyone is speeding at 100 km/h, and even in the summer heat, the properties of the oil are lost faster. The Baltmotors Motard engine is reliable and unpretentious, but it is not worth ruining it with oil that has oxidized ahead of time. Yes, the oil is synthetic 10w50, and there is no need to skimp on quality oil, fortunately only about a liter is poured into it. The valve clearances must be checked every 1000 km.

I bought BaltMotors (BM) Enduro 200, also known as Qingqi 200 GY, Sundown STX 200cc, Skymoto Motador and so on for the first season, to decide what I needed and to gain initial skills in driving a motorcycle. I deliberately took a motorcycle of Chinese origin, assuming there were some bugs, and scoured the relevant forums.
I'll try to sort out my impressions.
1. Aesthetics, appearance, control.
The motorcycle looks good, especially at first. But, pretty soon, all the bolts are covered with rust, the exhaust manifold looks extremely unpresentable - no matter what I do to it, it rusts. On new versions with a 250 cc engine it is made of stainless steel, I think it will be much better. Aluminum parts are covered with a nasty coating.
The plastic is thick but fragile. The side plastic will not withstand serious falls - at most, a soft fall into the sand. The scutes of the upside-down fork fly off like leaves from autumn trees, and without them it’s also not good.
At first the suspension seems soft, but a little later you realize that it is unacceptably soft and does not work very well. I want to try pumping up the rear shock absorber (it has a nipple). The front shock absorber is more difficult. Most likely, you need to change the little one to a thicker one, top it up to the required level, and perhaps add washers or small springs to increase the rigidity of the fork, which breaks through during any even small flights and bites terribly when braking.
Theoretically there is a headlight, in practice it is a size at best. The headlight adjustment does not work, and it shines high into the sky, slightly touching the road with the lower edge of the light spot. The high beam illuminates the tops of the Christmas trees with a narrow bright stripe. Theoretically, the headlight can be adjusted with a screw in its lower part, while its lower part should move inside the muzzle. But behind the headlight there are wiring harnesses and when the screw is twisted, its position does not change, it rests against the wires.
There is no trunk, instead there are passenger horn handles made of some kind of aluminum alloy. However, they can be replaced by installing, for example, a trunk from the first version of the endurka.
I liked the tidy, which shows the number of the gear engaged. It’s a pity that there are no indicators for engine overheating, overspeed, or at least some kind of fuel sensor. I confess, I forget about gasoline, and I’ve already had problems because of this a couple of times. The speedometer, when working, does not lie much, at 106 km/h it shows about 115. The tachometer needle dangles at high speeds and within a thousand and a half revolutions in each direction. It is easier to understand by the sound of the engine whether it is good or not.
The endurka's sofa is low (for my height), hard and narrow, the maximum I can withstand is 100 kilometers without stopping. I drove 250 intermittently, and it’s already hard to do more. It’s hard and the vibrations are annoying.
Speed and consumption
The absolute maximum is probably about 115 km. per hour (more than 120 according to the speedometer), but this is not the speed at which you can drive for a long time. It deflates, chatters, it’s very hard for the motor. Comfortable travel speed is about 90 km/h, but it’s also blowing, thanks to the vertical landing. Up to 80 km/h acceleration is quite brisk (relative to a family minivan with an automatic transmission)), up to 100 acceleration is slow and sad, anything more cannot be called acceleration. This is a smooth increase in speed.

Reviews
Thanks to the numerous reviews from owners shared by motorcycle buyers, it is possible to obtain detailed information about the work of Motard.
Running in is one of the important manipulations, which, if carried out correctly, can avoid many breakdowns later. In addition, it is worth servicing the bike on time. Then you don’t have to worry, even if you want to travel relatively long distances. The motorcycle is reliable and economical.
An equally important feature of Motard is its safety. Reliable brakes, even at high speed, will help avoid accidents. And high-quality plastic from Polisport with an elegant matte finish is not afraid of damage.
Baltmotors Motard 200: technical specifications, reviews
Baltmotors MOTARD 200 DD. Personal experience.
I started choosing a motorcycle even before I got my license, at the stage of studying traffic rules. Near the place where I worked at that time, there were two motorcycle dealerships with Japanese and Chinese equipment. Where I was a regular guest, I came every day, tormented the sellers and drooled over the motorcycles!
At first I wanted to take a Yamaha YBR 125, but after riding it at a driving school, I somehow decided against it. For some reason I felt uncomfortable sitting on it, even though it was the right size for me. Therefore, I headed to a store with Chinese equipment and spent a long time rushing from road workers to choppers. I didn’t really have any idea what class I wanted. After much torment of choice, I decided to take Stealth Flame 200. And then I saw it! Baltmotors Motard 200 DD. I liked it very much, I immediately sat down on it and was a little upset, it turned out to be tall for my 160 cm height. I thought I wouldn’t be able to ride it, but my friends convinced me that it wasn’t necessary to touch the ground with both feet, it was enough to stand with one. Glad that I could drive like this, I finally bought it!
Here it is, my first motorcycle! My Dragon!
Engine type: single-cylinder four-stroke air-cooled Starting system: electric starter Displacement: 199 cm3 Maximum power: 11.5 (15.6) / 8000 kW (hp) / rpm Transmission: Mechanical 5-speed Front/ rear brake: disc / disc Front / rear tire: 2.75-21 / 4.10 -18 (Enduro) 110/70-17 / 130/70 -17 (Motard) Overall length/width/height: 2120 / 800 / 1180 mm Wheelbase: 1400 mm Dry weight: 126 kg Tank capacity: 10.6 l.
The motard handles perfectly, it is narrow, maneuverable, and will fit in any aisle, especially in traffic jams! The seating position is comfortable and straight. It's very easy to steer, you ride like you're riding a bicycle. Confidently pulls from the very bottom (relatively). The steering wheel and mirrors are higher than car mirrors, which is very convenient. True, due to strong vibrations of the motorcycle, the mirrors shake and sometimes unscrew. The license plate was also badly damaged by vibrations. But, I think, if you immediately install a frame under it, the number will remain intact. For me it cracked almost in half. Somewhere after a week of driving, the throttle started to stick. As it turned out, iron shavings had collected under it and prevented the handle from returning to its original position. The instrument panel is quite simple and readable, but there is no fuel gauge, which is not very convenient.
Baltmotors Classic 200: what is it and what is it eaten with?
Cruiser looks nice, but is expensive. Baltmotors offers beginners an affordable alternative - the inexpensive BM 200 Classic chopper, lightweight, compact and attractive. Is it worth paying attention to it?
The union of companies from China and Russia gave novice motorcyclists the opportunity to join the two-wheeled world for a fairly modest amount. The Baltmotors Classic 200 model is a fairly typical Chinese bike, assembled in Kaliningrad at the Baltmotors enterprise from components produced in the Middle Kingdom. Of course, it’s difficult to call it a full-fledged cruiser - in this class, deformed V-shaped engines of impressive volume rule the roost. The BM Classic 200 received only a 200 cc single-cylinder engine, the same as that installed on a number of other models from this manufacturer. However, it tries its best to be “just like a chopper” - here you have an old-fashioned appearance, and the shine of chrome, and a 56-size seat.
Baltmotors Classic 200 replaced another model - BM Classic 125, which, however, went almost unnoticed. Its release did not last long, and few people had even heard of it, and soon the company replaced the 125 cc engines on its motorcycles with 200 cc ones, modifying everything else. As a result, the public received budget bikes of various classes that were good for their price, which may well appeal to some beginner as their first motorcycle.
Brief information about the manufacturer
Baltmotors is a source of pride for lovers of domestic technology. Finally, in Russia they decided to revive the motorcycle industry and start producing their own bikes, rather than buying them from China or Japan.
Motorcycle Baltmotors Motard 200 - Russian-made equipmentThe first assembly production of “iron horses” in the Russian Federation was launched in 2004 in Kaliningrad. The Baltmotors company initially focused on Western technologies, taking into account the geographical location of the subject, but later adapted them to the Russian consumer. Therefore, many of their motorcycle models have no analogues. They use Chinese, Japanese, Taiwanese, German and Italian components.
Thanks to the attractive price-quality ratio, Baltmotors bikes are among the top 10 in terms of sales volumes in Russia; the manufacturer is among the top three that assemble their own bikes. The plant annually produces about 10 thousand new motorcycles of various classes, scooters and ATVs.
BM Classic 200 inside and outside
The BM 200 Classic motorcycle is an ordinary Chinese chopper . There's no punchy low-end torque, no impressive mass, none of the things that make a cruiser a cruiser. But it should be noted that the bike is quite good in its price category. If you don’t expect miracles from him, but treat him as a road worker, externally stylized as a chopper, he will not disappoint. The technical characteristics of the Baltmotors Classic 200 are not enough stars from the sky, but they are quite consistent with its price.
Design
While most motorcycle manufacturers from China continue to persistently copy famous Japanese motorcycles, trying to give their crafts at least an external resemblance to the products of famous brands, the Baltmotors company took a different path. The Street 125 DD model looks fresh, attractive and original. And there is no pretentiousness, even the gilded fork stays and the general aggressiveness of the silhouette do not give the bike the appearance of a parody of an “adult” streetfighter
The BM Street 125 DD turned out to be both catchy enough to attract attention on the road, and modest enough not to pretend to be something that it is not
Pros and cons of BM Classic 200
Advantages
- Appearance. The bike looks really decent, much more expensive than it actually costs. Especially if you don't look closely.
- Good standard equipment. Already in stock, the Baltmotors 200 Classic is equipped with a fuel level sensor, plastic side cases, a battery charge level sensor, a gear engaged indicator and one completely useless device - a light bulb signaling an incoming call to a mobile phone.
- Abundance of chrome. Here it covers a great many external parts.
- Modest fuel consumption - about 3.5 liters per 100 km . The bike digests AI-92 , thanks to the simple and reliable carburetor.
- Gas tank volume. As much as 13.8 liters - this is enough to travel hundreds of three kilometers without refueling.
- Affordable price. A new bike was inexpensive, and on the secondary market you can even buy it for a thousand dollars, give or take.
Flaws
- Search for spare parts. It is fraught with a number of difficulties - sometimes even the dealer does not have the necessary hardware, and you have to wait for an order for several months.
- Bad brakes. They would be enough for a pit bike or a 50 cc scooter, but for a bike weighing one and a half centners they are clearly not enough.
- Compact sizes. If you are taller than 180 cm, you will not be able to sit comfortably on the Baltmotors Classic 200.
- Poor quality chrome. After a couple of years it begins to peel off.
- The fuel level sensor, judging by the opinions of the owners of the Baltmotors Classic 200, is constantly lying.
- Sluggish acceleration dynamics - after 80 km/h the motorcycle picks up speed extremely reluctantly. Given the weak brakes, perhaps this is for the best.
Video
It is unlikely that any serious bike manufacturer can ignore the chopper class. After all, one glance at the luxurious profile of the Baltmotors Classic 200 is enough to become seriously interested in it. However, the abundance of chrome, stylish crash bars and elegant plastic trunk cases hide the Chinese origin of the motorcycle.
In fact, the Classic 200 is a copy of the long-known QINGQI QM200-2A (simply produced under the Baltmotors trademark), whose direct donor was the Japanese Suzuki Marauder 150. Naturally, Japanese ancestors and the five-year presence on the market of the Chinese prototype allow us to hope for a certain level of quality, but Unfortunately, we cannot expect any innovations.
The huge number of sensors on the working panel corresponds to the class. They make it possible not only to find out the battery charge level, amount of fuel, speed and engine speed, but can even warn you about an incoming mobile phone call. And on the fuel tank there is a gear shift indicator for the 5-speed gearbox. Alloy wheels are not only prettier, but also more reliable than spoked ones, because the consumption of spokes on some Chinese motorcycles reaches 5 spokes per 1000 km. A wide seat with a rear backrest is conducive to a leisurely ride, which is also hinted at by the technical characteristics of the Baltmotors Classic 200.
Apparently in a desire to maintain a low price level for the Baltmotors Classic 200, the manufacturers equipped this cruiser with a single-cylinder four-stroke engine with a capacity of only 200 cc. cm., the power of which is not enough to give at least some dynamics to a car weighing one and a half centners. But it starts with the electric starter button. According to reviews from owners, the BM Classic 200 discourages any desire to exceed the permitted speed of 90 km/h, especially since after 5000 rpm the vibration becomes completely unbearable. It is also worth considering that the engine also does not like low speeds and tries to stall at less than 2000 rpm. At the same time, the Classic 200 chopper has enviable handling, coping well even with city zigzags. I haven’t heard any complaints about the brakes (it has front discs and rear drums).
Despite its Kaliningrad origin, the Baltmotors Classic 200 is Chinese from the wheels to the trunk. Accordingly, you should not place increased demands on metal strength and build quality. However, with a skillful approach, the Classic 200 motorcycle will serve faithfully for many years. And to do this, during break-in it is worth tightening all the fasteners, installing additional seals and necessary parts, such as a fuel filter, which for some reason is not included in the package.
Main competitors
- Keeway Superlight 200 . Another “Chinese”, similar to the BM 200 Classic, like a twin brother. But it costs more.
- Regal Raptor DD150E . This model was once sold on the Russian market, and is still sometimes found on sale. But the situation with spare parts for it is now very bad - they are almost impossible to find.
- OMAKS Chopper . A motorcycle remembered mainly for its low build quality and low price. It is still available for sale second hand and is cheap.
- Lifan LF 250. It is a copy of the Yamaha XV 250 Virago, it is distinguished by a V-shaped 2-cylinder engine, good by class standards of dynamics and high reliability. Mostly on sale is its modified version - Lifan LF 250B.
Total
Despite the fact that the Baltmotors Street 200 DD is no longer produced, it is worth considering if you are choosing your first motorcycle and don’t have a lot of money to buy. On the secondary market, used copies are quite cheap, cheaper than the vast majority of other Chinese bikes of similar capacity. At the same time, the Baltmotors Street 200 DD surpasses most of them in almost all respects. Even though it is just a budget small-capacity motorcycle, it is still worth the money. And there are no serious problems with finding spare parts for it even now, thanks to their dealer network.
Reviews from BM Classic 200 owners
I bought a 2011 motorbike in the summer of 2016, with a mileage of 4k km, one owner for the entire time. For the last couple of years, the bike has been gathering dust in the owner’s garage and hasn’t been ridden at all, so all the seals and anthers have dried out. I had to put my hands on some little things, bring it to fruition, and re-route the wiring in a normal way. I drove it myself for two seasons, put 15 thousand km on the wheels and sold it to the new happy owner, and bought myself a Honda Shadow 1100. My impressions from Baltmotors were positive, there were no problems. Ivan, Voronezh, Baltmotors Classic 200 '2011
I chose a chopper with a budget of up to 90k, read reviews from owners of the BM 200 Classic, looked at a review of it on YouTube, but still couldn’t decide. But the Japanese didn’t fit into my budget, so I ended up buying a BM with a mileage of 18,000 km. I skated on it for a season, then sold it and took Steed. The motorcycle feels like a vegetable; it doesn’t ride, doesn’t brake, doesn’t steer. There are some assembly flaws, but not critical, and it doesn’t fall apart while running. Vitaly, Moscow, Baltmotors Classic 200 '2012
An ordinary cheap Chinese, well worth the money, but if you have the opportunity to expand your budget, you should take a Japanese one and not even think about it, it’s just heaven and earth. On a limited budget, this is a normal toy to learn how to ride and use your hands from time to time. Yaroslav, St. Petersburg, BM 200 Classic '2012
Approximate price of models
A brand new enduro from a Kaliningrad company can be bought for about 180 thousand rubles. Owned equipment will, of course, be cheaper. You can easily buy a used 200 for around 100 thousand.
The main thing is not to miscalculate and compare price and quality, pay attention to the technical characteristics of the motorcycle, mileage, and its external condition. Ask the previous owner about what he used the bike for, how often he changed consumables, and how carefully he looked after his equipment.
In June 2022, in Moscow, an off-road enduro Baltmotors Motard 250 manufactured in 2014 with a mileage of 1,000 km can be purchased from its first owner for 80 thousand rubles. For the same money, the model is sold in St. Petersburg, only the year of manufacture is 2012, and the mileage is 4,500 km. A “200” of the same year will cost 65 thousand rubles, a resident of the Moscow region sells the motorcycle after 4200 km. “The motorcycle is ideal for a beginner, it forgives mistakes. Suitable for both off-road riding and city driving. The motorcycle has enduro tires (40% asphalt/60% off-road),” he wrote in the ad.
Summary
There are a lot of budget motorcycles with Chinese roots, but not so many small-capacity affordable cruisers. Baltmotors Classic 200 is a representative of budget bikes of this class that are quite rare in Russia. Of course, it also has competitors, but most of them were sold for a short time, after which dealers curtailed supplies, so there are no spare parts for them and are not expected. For the BM 200 Classic, according to reviews, you also have to look for spare parts, but at least dealers and official representatives of the company have not disappeared. It is quite good as a first motorcycle for a beginner, but, most likely, you will get tired of it very quickly, and you will have to change it to a more powerful two-wheeled steel horse.
Spare parts
Spare parts for Baltmotors equipment are not expensive, there is no shortage of them - the company is Russian. All the necessary parts can be ordered online or asked around at motorcycle dealerships. It will not be difficult to find speedometer, gas and clutch cables, front and rear pads, turn signals and mirrors, oil and air filters, tires. The situation is a little more complicated with bearings, brake handles and fastenings, but if desired, they can be ordered online. There is an option to contact the manufacturing company or visit Kaliningrad in person - there is something to see there.
Before boarding for the first time, be sure to check that the package is complete and that the seller has not forgotten any necessary items. It's best to sign up for a test drive.
If everything is in place, go home with peace of mind. Subsequently, the bike can be modified; many people try to increase the power, play tricks with the suspension, change tires and lighting devices. Nobody canceled tuning, especially since everything is in stock. Take the time to visit specialized spare parts stores, which are found in almost every city.
If you are a handy person, you can easily replace some of the spare parts and consumables yourself. And by rummaging through your friends' garage, you can find missing parts. For those who have difficulty with technology, there are plenty of online tutorials. At the same time, examine the insides of your bunk.
The motorcycle has a low price and spare parts are available
