Today it is known to many car enthusiasts mainly as ]Lada brand cars[/anchor]. In particular, Vesta is being assembled in Izhevsk today. But about 15 years ago, the local car plant produced cars of its own design. The last model was IZH-2136-30 “Orbita”, better known as “Oda”. This car was unique for the Russian industry, which was just being restored at that time.
Unlike AvtoVAZ, Oda switched to a rear-wheel drive platform. This “trolley” provided stability that is uncharacteristic of many hatchbacks. Also thanks to her, IzhAvto was later able to create a station wagon based on the Oda. As a result, over the 15 years during which this model was assembled at the Izhevsk Automobile Plant, over 230 thousand cars were produced. This figure was considered good for the Russian market in the 90s and early 2000s.
But in 2005 it stopped producing cars of its own design. Declining sales and a number of other crises led to the fact that the Izhevsk Automobile Plant was later transferred to the assembly of Lada models, as a result of which “Oda” became history. However, the possibility of this brand returning to the market cannot be ruled out. At least now you can imagine which model “Oda” will go on sale with.
A domestic designer has developed a series of renderings depicting a crossover of this brand. The car is compact in size and, apparently, if it enters the market it will cost less than a million rubles. Despite the fact that this is nothing more than a concept, such a crossover may well appear on the Russian market. The fact is that AvtoVAZ today does not have a full-fledged SUV. And Renault crossovers are presented in a more expensive segment. That is, the new IZH “Oda” 2021-2022 will not become a competitor to any of the models of the Russian or French brand.
Moreover, the use of this sub-brand is also justified. Renault recently announced that it intends to phase out the production of low-cost models. In the future, as many experts assume, Lada will also become a relatively expensive brand, since all its cars will be transferred to the French platform. But the Russian market needs really cheap cars. Using the Oda brand for these purposes seems like a completely logical solution.
Design
The renderings developed by the designer show a modern crossover, designed in a style that is typical for many budget SUVs (mostly Chinese). It, like, for example, Chery Tiggo 2, is distinguished by somewhat square outlines and slightly smoothed corners. At the same time, the Russian new product has a number of features that are unique to it.
Thus, the crossover IZH "Oda" 2021-2022 has a slightly rounded roof: it gradually rises up, coming from the heavily littered A-pillars, and in the center begins to move down, stopping at a small wing. The Russian new product is distinguished by an elongated front part of the body and a shortened rear part. The hood, which runs almost parallel to the road surface, is complemented by barely noticeable recesses on the sides. A similar feature is typical for the Mercedes-Benz GLB.
At the front of the new product there are large headlights. Moreover, the head optics have a unique architecture for budget crossovers. The role of the main headlight is performed by a large lamp placed in a special recess. Curving LED strips stretch above and below it, one of which is most likely in the form of DRLs, and the second is a turn signal. Between them and next to the radiator grille in the area where the headlights narrow, the developer placed 3 LED lights.
Decorative strips extend from the head optics and cross the plastic trim. The latter is probably responsible for the imitation of the radiator grille, since the crossover lacks it. Another interesting detail characteristic of the presented Oda crossover is related to the design features of the front bumper. In its center there is a large air intake with a fine mesh and clearly defined edges, slightly protruding above the body. Below, the developer placed another ventilation hole, separated from the top one by a plastic strip and complemented by a black body kit. This combination of design solutions seems to have been borrowed from the latest Toyota RAV4.
However, it cannot be said that the Russian model was copied from the Japanese one. In particular, the opposite is evidenced by the presence of huge side holes for ventilation of the brake mechanisms. Following the example of many modern crossovers, the new Oda is complemented by a wide plastic body kit that runs along fairly large wheel arches and the bottom of the side doors. The 2021-2022 IZH “Oda” crossover is distinguished by its relatively high ground clearance, the size of which may reach 190 mm. This decision is due to the fact that the car is initially aimed at the Russian market, whose consumers often pay attention to cars with high ground clearance.
The stern of the new Oda has a stepped shape. Moreover, the transitions between individual parts have a clear outline. The new product received large rear optics, connected by an equally wide central brake light. Immediately below it is a rectangular protrusion, which probably serves a decorative function. Also at the stern, the developer placed a large bumper with additional brake lights and four exhaust pipes. Most likely, 3 of them are imitation and are designed to diversify the appearance of the crossover.
Izh motorcycles: new and modern
Izh manufacturers have produced a variety of motorcycles: choppers, sports and classic. Their new units stand out for their excellent properties, design and ride comfort. There are even new motorcycles that look like foreign models.
Mobile Izh Kornet.
You don't need a driver's license to drive this model. We made a unit for economical motorcyclists. It is light in weight and small in size. It is given a unique shine by chrome parts, a high steering wheel and a teardrop-shaped tank.
Disc brakes are installed at the rear and front of the unit. They allow you to achieve effective and uncomplicated braking, since often a beginner sits behind the wheel of a motorcycle. But the actions of such a pilot in traffic situations are not always fast.
The new Izh model, like all the others, is easy to buy at the manufacturing plant. Cornet costs only 20 thousand rubles. Such a low cost is due to its size: height - 128 centimeters, width - about 82, and length - 194.
The total weight of the motorcycle is 90 kilograms, and the maximum permissible load is 170. The model has a soft suspension and excellent mobility, and also a single-cylinder, 2-stroke engine, the power of which is only three horsepower.
Popular motorcycle IZH Planet Sport.
This brand has touched upon improvement. During its creation, imported spare parts were used, so the motorcycle came closer to similar foreign models. Motorcyclists call him Dog. In addition, he is extremely popular among them.
The new model must be competitive, therefore, the choice of its spare parts must be approached correctly. This is what Russian motorcycle manufacturers did. They chose to install Nissan brake calipers, a Rotax engine, and Suzuki wheels.
The panel was made in the form of a liquid crystal display on which you can see the indicators of the devices.
Original Junker model.
The motorcycle resembles American models due to the convex tank, which is divided into two chambers of 7.5 liters each. each, a large number of chrome parts and a horned steering wheel. The instrument panel on the unit was made directly on the gas tank cap.
The Izh Junker bike is not designed for high speeds. It can only accelerate to 115 km/h. The engine has 2 cylinders, two-stroke, and has a power of 24 horses, but a torque of 40 Nm.
Of course, there is also a drawback - the low location of the glove compartment and battery compartment. In the city, gasoline consumption is approximately 7 liters per 100 kilometers. But still, on the highway, if you drive at a speed of 60 km/h, only four liters of fuel are consumed, but when accelerating to 90, consumption increases to 5.7 liters.
The motorcycle has a height of 152 centimeters and a length of 160 centimeters. The Junker weighs approximately 205 kilograms, the load should not be higher than 150. The factory cost of the unit is 92 thousand rubles.
The Izh Planeta-7 motorcycle is designed for Russian roads.
It was produced on the basis of Planet-5, but looks more beautiful in appearance. The following parts stand out from the operational parameters of the unit:
- suspension;
- excellent drum brakes.
At the same time, many tuning fans try to replace them with disc brakes, however, the factory ones are also quite good.
The model's handling is excellent and it holds the road perfectly. The motorcycle also handles turns well. The engine in Planet-7 is 4-stroke. So, due to a special mechanism, four valves begin to work on only one cylinder. Compared with previous models, the engine size has decreased, but this has not affected the power in any way.
With an engine power of 20 horsepower, the motorcycle can accelerate to 120 km/h, but it is still rather weak for a trailer. In addition, new motorcycles without sidecars feel confident on the road at a speed of 110 kilometers per hour. Since a five-speed transmission is installed, the model accelerates to the maximum speed quite quickly, but not so fast as to overtake, for example, the Izh Jupiter.
The advantage of this model is that the motor is almost not subject to overheating. Therefore, even long-term driving at maximum speed in the summer is not dangerous for him. In general, the bike is not bad in terms of quality and cost. It is moderately durable and reliable, and also easy to maintain.
Reliable Izh Saiga.
On the instrument panel you can now see different lights that give a signal when there is a breakdown, the lights are on, and also show the charging of the battery. A fairly comfortable motorcycle saddle with a pencil case, designed for two seats. Compared to the previous model, the Saiga has chrome-plated parts, and the gearbox is the same.
The engine is Chinese, but it is of excellent quality. The motorcycle has a domestic suspension and chassis, which is located next to the engine. This engine belongs to a new family of 4-stroke engines with only one cylinder and four ONC valves.
With an engine capacity of 249 cubic meters, the unit belongs to the middle class. The dimensions of the motorcycle are 72–61.2, and the compression level is 8.9. The engine power reaches a limit of 8500 rpm. In addition, this bike is capable of accelerating up to 120 kilometers per hour, and it also consumes a little gasoline. For example, on the road it consumes 3.5 liters per 100 kilometers.
It is clear that when driving in the city more fuel is consumed, but this is still considered a low figure. With the familiar five-speed gearbox, the motorcycle can quickly accelerate to top speeds.
Regarding tuning of this model, there is absolutely no reason for interior decoration. The technical parameters of the unit are quite satisfactory, one might say that they are excellent. But you will need to work on the appearance. By installing xenon optics, the appearance will immediately change. This will also improve the lighting of the bike.
It is also good to install a windshield with a fairing, complementing it with a variety of mirrors. The motorcycle will look more fashionable, and while riding it will be more comfortable and ensure good safety. And even if you don’t use tuning, this model is an acceptable and reliable motorcycle for its price.

Despite the fact that the renderings depict the concept of a possible crossover IZH “Oda” 2021-2022, its technical part is already known. It is more likely that AvtoVAZ will develop such a model. In this regard, it will be based on the CMF-B platform. The role of the base unit in this model will be performed by a 1.6-liter naturally aspirated engine, which today produces up to 106 hp. power. Optionally, they will most likely offer a Nissan naturally aspirated engine of the same volume, the power of which is 113 hp. And in top versions you can expect the appearance of a 1.8-liter 122-horsepower naturally aspirated engine.
Most likely, the new Oda crossover will be deprived of the 1.3-liter turbocharged engine, which recently appeared on the Renault Duster. Because of such a unit, the cost of the car will exceed a million rubles. At the same time, perhaps the Oda crossover will be all-wheel drive. At least the CMF-B platform allows the production of crossovers with a similar layout.
