Calendar changes[edit]

- The British Grand Prix was due to move from Silverstone to the new Welsh circuit, but construction on the new circuit was not started. [63] The two circuits reached an agreement that would give Silverstone the opportunity to host the 2022 race. [64] At the end of the British Grand Prix, all three races were canceled due to hazardous track conditions on race day and were not rescheduled.
- The Thailand Grand Prix is a new addition to the calendar with the race scheduled for October 7th.
- The Catalunya Grand Prix used a new configuration of the Barcelona-Catalunya Circuit, which merged the previous set of turns 13, 14 and 15 into a wide right-hander. The new layout was previously used in Formula One from 2004 to 2006.
