Excerpt describing KTM

Boris looked questioningly at his general and immediately realized that this was a joke test. “Mon prince, je parle de l'empereur Napoleon, [Prince, I'm talking about Emperor Napoleon," he answered. The general patted him on the shoulder with a smile. “You will go far,” he told him and took him with him. Boris was one of the few on the Neman on the day of the emperors' meeting; he saw the rafts with monograms, Napoleon's passage along the other bank past the French guard, he saw the thoughtful face of Emperor Alexander, while he sat silently in a tavern on the bank of the Neman, waiting for Napoleon's arrival; I saw how both emperors got into the boats and how Napoleon, having first landed on the raft, walked forward with quick steps and, meeting Alexander, gave him his hand, and how both disappeared into the pavilion. Since his entry into the higher worlds, Boris made himself a habit of carefully observing what was happening around him and recording it. During a meeting in Tilsit, he asked about the names of those persons who came with Napoleon, about the uniforms that they were wearing, and listened carefully to the words that were said by important persons. At the very time the emperors entered the pavilion, he looked at his watch and did not forget to look again at the time when Alexander left the pavilion. The meeting lasted an hour and fifty-three minutes: he wrote it down that evening among other facts that he believed were of historical significance. Since the emperor’s retinue was very small, for a person who valued success in his service, being in Tilsit during the meeting of the emperors was a very important matter, and Boris, once in Tilsit, felt that from that time his position was completely established. They not only knew him, but they took a closer look at him and got used to him. Twice he carried out orders for the sovereign himself, so that the sovereign knew him by sight, and all those close to him not only did not shy away from him, as before, considering him a new person, but would have been surprised if he had not been there.

History of KTM

The year the company was founded was 1963. The Austrian production was initially engaged in the repair and maintenance of various motor vehicles, as well as the assembly of models that were produced by other companies.

The production of our own motorcycle models began in 1960. Based on the designs of experienced engineers, the first model of a motorcycle was built, which was capable of motocrossing and traveling on off-road terrain. From that moment on, the history of KTM began to actively develop.

In the 70s, more than one race was won on KTM motorcycles, which brought considerable popularity to the company’s products. The main rule that the company adheres to to this day is active testing of motorcycles in racing conditions, since this model must always be ready for such loads.

Now the company's arsenal includes only highly functional models of motorcycles - superbikes, enduro, off-road and mini-models, which also participate in racing and have the highest technological indicators.

By 2005, the production volume of motorcycles exceeded 80 thousand units, exports to the United States of America and active development of production began. Modernization of the KTM plant made it possible to create even more advanced models, which are now one of the leaders in the world market.

Where is KTM assembled?

The place where KTM is assembled was and remains a modernized plant located in Austria. KTM production has an incredible scale, which made it possible to accommodate machine shops, assembly and welding bays, development and research departments, as well as places for testing finished products and separate parts.

The KTM manufacturer uses the latest technical equipment during assembly, which makes every part strong and reliable. The entire packaging package for KTM products constantly undergoes multiple levels of safety and quality testing. The ergonomic and stylish design incorporates all modern trends in the design of motorcycles. Such production indicators allow the company to stay afloat even during times of crisis in the world.

International recognition

Period 1960-70s. was a bright page in the history of KTM. In 1964, a factory racing team was created, which in 1966 won three sets of gold medals in the international Six Days competition on the legendary KTM Comet bike. On the wave of popularity, just two years later the company conquered the American market with the Penton Six Days model.

In 1970, KTM engineers developed their own engine, which formed the basis of a powerful sports bike that became a three-time winner of the Motocross World Championship. By 1974, the KTM line already included 42 models.

Sports bikes

The Race Cross, Race Line and Race Comp models deserve special attention in this class.
These samples are developed on the basis of lightweight aluminum frames with butting technology. The steering glasses are reinforced with perforated gussets. The sports bikes of the presented series have a complete elegant design. All connections are carefully processed by grinding. At the same time, such processing of the seams does not at all affect the stability of the frame structure to increased mechanical loads.

Among other advantages, it is worth noting an impressive margin of safety with minimal weight. Therefore, such bikes demonstrate good rolling performance when riding on asphalt and dirt. In general, the above models can be characterized as bicycles with excellent equipment, noble design and a pronounced racing character.
