Eachine Racer 130 is an FPV quadcopter with camera.
Moreover, the camera is included, and the quadcopter in flight configuration weighs 150 grams, that is, it does not require registration under the new Air Code.
This small quadcopter can legally fly in parks, cities and other places, the main thing is not to create a danger to citizens and their property during the flight. Even if the police are interested in you, the most they can legally do is ask you to stop flying.
Yes! The size of the quadcopter is really small! Only 13 centimeters diagonally between the centers of the motors. Hence the 130 in its name.
The parcel was delivered to me by a transport company in just 10 days.
Watch the Eachine Racer 130 quadcopter unboxing video .
The box contains a large amount of polyethylene foam, this allows you not to be afraid that this FPV drone will be damaged during delivery.
If you reduce the height of the box and protective material, you will get an excellent box for carrying the quadric to the flight site.
I took the ARF version of the Eachine Racer 130. Therefore, for flights I needed to install the FrSky X4R receiver.
To connect, I disassembled the quadcopter frame; I actually had to unscrew 4 screws on the top bar.
The frame of the Eachine Racer 130 quadcopter is carbon, bend-resistant. It is problematic to break it in a normal fall.
The flight controller is equipped with a buzzer indicating low battery. On Eachine Racer 250 I had to connect such a signaling device myself, but here it is already included.
On the top of the frame there is a 5.8 GHz, 200 mW video transmitter.
Naze32 flight controller with power distribution.
In order to install the receiver in the Eachine Racer 130 quadcopter, I had to bite off the pin legs and solder the wires directly. There are inexpensive receivers on sale, but I didn’t have them at hand.
At first I couldn’t connect SBUS, I don’t even know what the problem is, according to reviews - only this happened to me. The fact is that for some reason there was no power to the SBUS on the Eachine Racer 130 flight controller.
I temporarily connected it to the 5 volts supplied to the power supply for the video recording camera and the backlight of the quadcopter. The backlight, by the way, switches to 7 colors, and can be turned off.
Fortunately, we need to take power from the second connector, where the receiver is connected via channels, but now it won’t be until spring, since I started refining it and turned the quadric into a mummy.
But before winding up, I started setting up the flight controller.
Specifications
It is reckless to expect much from a cheap Chinese motorcycle. The Viper 130 racer is designed with one goal - to be as affordable as possible, to use up its very decent resource and be forgotten forever.
Engine
The 1-cylinder air-cooled engine is capable of accelerating the bike, according to the manufacturer, to 90 km/h . The real maximum speed reaches 70 km/h , and acceleration to 100 km/h in dynamics can be compared to a lazy turtle that has swallowed sleeping pills. But it's cheap! The engine capacity is 127 cm3 and is powered by a simple carburetor.
Transmission
Chinese engineers did not reinvent the wheel, and equipped the Racer Viper with a 4-speed manual gearbox with a circular mechanism, and after the fourth comes the first. They borrowed it from one of the budget scooter models produced in China.
Chassis and brakes
The steel frame 's geometry is reminiscent of scooter frames, with which the Racer Viper has many similarities. The brakes are disc, but very simple. The suspension is similar, with a monoshock absorber at the rear and a telescopic fork at the front. There are no adjustments.
Electronics
The most difficult thing about this bike is the electric starter. And if it suddenly breaks, Kickstarter ! It’s good that caring engineers from China thought about this. After purchasing, do not forget to check the insulation of the wires and all contacts; due attention is not paid to this point during assembly.
Weight and dimensions
The dry weight of the Racer Viper is only 94 kg . Subjectively, it seems light, like a scooter, and any motorcyclist, even a beginner, can handle it. But due to its small size, it will be cramped for the owner of a more or less large build.
Controllability
Nimble and compact , the bike handles excellently. In city traffic jams, it will give a head start to “adult” motorcycles, easily slipping between cars. But do not forget that its brakes are weak and they are easily blocked.
Fuel consumption
Economy is one of the advantages of the Racer Viper 130. When driving quietly, it consumes about 2-2.5 liters per 100 km, but even if you try to constantly squeeze everything it can out of it, the consumption will not exceed 3 liters. Any gasoline can be used; the engine is not picky in this matter.
RunCam 2 on Eachine Racer 130
First of all, I installed RunCam 2, the video turned out to be of excellent quality, and the weather was unlucky.
Don’t pay attention to the emergency landings, it was necessary to adjust the video helmet - switched from video recording mode to live stream.
It flies quite well, I haven’t tried to tumble, but if you need to photograph something beautiful, then this modification is quite suitable.
The weight of RunCam 2 is only 49 grams, so we don’t go beyond the 250 grams limit and can fly over the city in search of great shots.
Repair and tuning
The problem with many Chinese small-capacity models is that they do not last long on the production line, are quickly replaced by new models, and spare parts support ceases. It didn't miss the Racer Viper RC130CF either.
Repair
You can repair the bike “on your knees”. Even serious breakdowns can be easily dealt with at any motorcycle service center, because its design is as simple as a brick.
Spare parts
Many parts fit other Racer models. Originals can be bought from dealers, but their selection is small and is limited mainly by consumables. What saves the situation is that many Viper components are fully compatible with other Chinese motorcycles, and it is possible to select the necessary ones.
Tuning
There is no point in investing in a low-budget Chinese motorcycle. Most Racer Viper owners are limited to external improvements - decals, decals and other little things.
How to Setup Naze32 Flight Controller on Eachine Racer 130 Quadcopter
About wrapping, I made a separate article: How to prepare a quadcopter for winter flights.
The result is a mummie like this:
Despite installing the receiver and wrapping it with film, the weight remained within 150 grams.
Advantages and disadvantages
The Viper Racer has one significant advantage - the price . Everything else could be considered a disadvantage, but this would be unfair, given its price segment.
Advantages
- Price . This is the most budget-friendly equipment in the Racer company’s lineup.
- Economical . The bike is cheap to maintain, spare parts for it cost pennies, and it consumes gasoline very moderately.
- Maintainability . Any beginner can understand the design of the Racer Viper, and repairs will be easy.
Flaws
- Sluggish acceleration dynamics . It is even inferior to the dynamics of 125 cc scooters made in Japan.
- Lack of fifth gear in the gearbox. If it was there, the bike would be more lively.
- Weak brakes . In addition, they are easy to pinch, blocking the wheel.
- Rigid pendants . Apparently, they were made so oak to compensate for the weakness of inexpensive shock absorbers.
Batteries for Eachine Racer 130
In the photo above is Eachine Racer 130 with a 3S 1500 mAh 30C battery. If you don’t freestyle, it flies normally with them, I use them for training flights at home.
For active flights, I ordered a 3S 600 mAh 30C, instead of the standard 450 mAh 30C, we'll see how it goes. On the Internet they advise taking a 450-500 mAh 60-90C for racing, I’m not going to race yet, so it will do just fine. Freestyle and “dives” fly on these quite adequately (according to reviews from bourgeois forums).
For quiet flights I used a 3S 1000 mAh 25C, it also flies quite normally, although the battery is already more than 4 years old.
Owner reviews
I rode the Viper for two seasons, bought it in 2015, put a little less than 10 thousand kilometers on the wheels, then the bike was stolen. During all this time, it never broke down, only due to small things - the light bulb in the turn signal burned out, the fuses blew, the speedometer died. For that kind of money I didn’t expect anything else, but overall I’m happy, after the theft I bought myself a more serious bike from the Racer brand. Of all the Chinese motorcycles, you can at least trust them. Anton, Moscow.
Vegetable dynamics, two modes of brake operation (on/off), a vague gearbox in which you can, out of habit, try to engage fifth, but instead end up in first in the middle of the highway. I don't recommend it. Alexander, Yaroslavl.
An incomprehensible hybrid between a motorcycle and a stool. It is very reminiscent of scooters with a semi-automatic manual transmission, which half the population rides in Southeast Asian countries, although they claim to be a full-fledged moto. Pepelats, as for me, is unsuccessful, if you need a stool, you need to take it, preferably a Japanese one, if you want a moto, take a moto, you can even from Racer, just a different type, a road worker, for example. And leave this budget cramp to the Chinese collective farmers to ride. Sergey, Sevastopol.
Flying Eachine Racer 130
The first flights were test flights, I just tried out how it behaved in different modes, then I tried flying FPV.
To be honest, I have no experience of flying in confined spaces at all! I don’t know how to estimate distances; at the dacha I drove a quad above 10 meters and only in Agle mode.
I didn’t like the standard camera, so I made a separate article about it: Review of the Eachine Feelcam 110 camera.
So I started experimenting.
FAQ
- Is Racer Viper a scooter or a motorcycle? It's more of a cross between the two. But in terms of landing it is closer to a motorcycle.
- Does he really only eat a couple of liters per hundred? Yes, but its gas tank is only 5 liters.
- Are there any problems with spare parts for it? Sometimes there is. You can find everything, but you will have to search through the selection method.
Law and Eachine Racer 130
According to the law, aircraft models and quadcopters up to 250 grams are not subject to registration and are not classified as UAVs, and therefore do not require applications for flights. In fact, Eachine Racer 130, according to Russian law, is classified as a flying toy and can be launched anywhere, as long as you do not disturb other citizens with these launches.
Thus, by purchasing Eachine Racer 130 and installing RunCam 2 on it (+49 grams - the weight of a standard camera still does not exceed 200 grams) you get a quadcopter with a camera and FPV for flying in the city and recording video without problems taking into account, request flight permits and other things.
Just take out the quadcopter, take off and shoot FHD at 60 frames per second!
However, it is not recommended to launch it at airports, near the Kremlin or near military units. There you can get rid of problems by even launching a camera on a bunch of helium balloons.
Conclusion
In its segment, Racer Viper is one of the most affordable options , but there are even cheaper ones. Therefore, even the low price, its main advantage, is not decisive. Given the controversial design, questionable transmission and weak engine, it's better to make a different choice.

Eachine Racer and Y3000 camera
The second option was to try flying with the Y3000, it tumbles easily, but the problem was the weather, at the time of shooting it was low cloudy and snowing, I pulled out the photo in Photoshop, adjusting the brightness, contrast and colors, because even a mirrorless camera did not give a good picture.
So, with a good video, you need to wait for sunny weather, then try it.
In terms of flights, it is worth saying that the standard battery is rather weak. After 40-50 seconds of flight, the beeper begins to actively signal that the battery is low, and thus allows you to fly for another 3-4 minutes.
