Hello Bikepost! I hasten to share another video. This time I tested an ultra-budget and incredibly popular motorcycle in Russia - the Chinese road bike Racer RC200CK Nitro. According to official statistics, the RC200 series generally ranks first in sales of new motorcycles. Of course, many will immediately say that the Chinese are fu-fu-fu. But it turns out that in our country a very large segment of motorcyclists, unfortunately, do not have enough money for something more decent. And for 65-70,000 rubles you can’t buy anything worthwhile even on the secondary market (damn, my equipment is even more expensive). Of course, I wouldn’t buy such a motorcycle for myself. But if we abstract ourselves and evaluate the technology unbiasedly, then the bottom line is the following.
I borrowed the Racer from a friend for testing. So far he has only driven 4.5 thousand km on it, which means it’s too early to talk about reliability. What’s good is that only one of the minor breakdowns has happened so far: the front brake mic burnt out. And after creating the video, I talked with other owners of the same exact motorcycles and found out that another weak point is the chain. It quickly stretches out and you have to change it to something stronger. The other 2 criteria by which most people choose such motorcycles are design and price. I already said about the price: for this money you can only buy a similar Chinese one. But Nitro’s appearance, in my opinion, is 4 plus. A laconic lightweight motorcycle, about which one cannot say that its design is stupidly copied from its Japanese or European counterparts, and it is quite recognizable in modern traffic flow (not least due to the color a la Kawasaki). Most buyers of this motorcycle, I’m sure, absolutely don’t care what kind of handling it has, whether the brakes are informative, or whether it has enough dynamics in everyday use. Actually, the Chinese seem to understand this very well, and are not trying to make a motorcycle that will stand out in anything other than its appearance. Mediocre dynamics (maximum speed is only 103 km/h), weak brakes, average handling... This is the most ordinary utilitarian road worker, capable of moving slowly both on asphalt and on country roads.
To sum up my impressions, I will say that this motorcycle is worth the money. On one condition - if it doesn't break. The Chinese themselves don’t seem to care much about the issue of reliability, because in the Celestial Empire such equipment sits around for 5 years in the harshest conditions, and then is simply thrown away. In China, the culture of caring for a motorcycle is not developed and no one is trying to save it for the next buyer, because the secondary market as such is in its infancy there. Last year I was in China and saw with my own eyes the terrible condition in which 99% of motorcycles are there. Someday I'll make a post on this topic.
