First test of STELS S800 Wolverine

Error codes stealth wolverine 800

Snowmobiling in the mountains is always extreme. Utilitarian cars have a particularly hard time there. Therefore, the idea of trying the updated Wolverine in Khakassia, in the vicinity of the village of Priiskovoe, seemed to me a desperate gamble. Not all cars usually manage to survive such an adventure.

Desperate gentlemen

The mountains around Priiskovoye are, I tell you, worth a pound! We say about such places: “the devil’s horns.” Not like a heavy utilitarian snowmobile, often in those places even heavy-duty modern “mountain snowmobiles” bend and do not return to base. Difficult terrain, outright wilderness. To civilization with airports – 400–500 versts. The nearest Ministry of Emergency Situations point is a hundred kilometers away. No prepared routes, no rescuers and doctors on duty. There are only four hotels - for the most unpretentious guests who do not disdain Spartan life. Toilet in the hallway, shared showers, bunk beds.

But among snowboarders, skiers and snowmobilers, “Pri” (as the village is called for short by regular guests) has become famous for the good snow that falls already at the end of October. And the mountains immediately become suitable for extreme, ultimate freeride. So, do these gentlemen from Velomotors really want us to go to the mountains on their “walking excavators”? After all, the likelihood that not all snowmobiles will return is very high. The gentlemen answered with dignity: “If our new “Wolverines” survive in these conditions, then we will be confident that we have managed to correct, improve and bring to mind a lot.”

Work on mistakes

In fact, just a little over three years ago, most specialists from the quad-snow industry perceived the talk about Velomotors starting production of a snowmobile of its own design as nothing other than Napoleonic nonsense of the high authorities of this company. There was also a version that loud statements about such large-scale production ambitions (you must agree, to develop and produce your own snowmobile - not to promote nanotechnology in our government) is such a cunning preparation of public opinion for the next “shamanic dances” with a screwdriver around the conveyor belt under the sign “our own production "

Stels S800 “Wolverine”

Engine 4-stroke, 2-cylinder, V-shaped

There may be a snowmobile, but it will be a purely Chinese “spill”; in Russia, only skis will be attached to it. But the status of “own production” will allow you to technically avoid extortionate customs duties.

That’s why no one expected the emergence of a new snowmobile manufacturer; there are only a few of them left all over the world – you can count them on the fingers of one hand. The Chinese have been trying to make something for the last five years, but no one needs all their snowdroplets even in Children’s World, they are so wretched. So when the first prototypes of the Stealth snowmobiles went out for testing in 2013, most of the spiteful critics had to hide under a bench. True, not for long. At the beginning of last year, reviews began to arrive from happy owners of serial “Stealth 800 Wolverine” from the first batch. By the way, it was not that large - more than a hundred, maybe two hundred, pieces.

Reviews of the first “Wolverines” were, to put it mildly, not very positive. Here is a short list of “childhood diseases”:

Naturally, the scoffers made fun of these flaws and shortcomings with all their might. To the credit of the guys from Velomotors, they did not deny their mistakes: faulty parts were replaced under warranty; in special cases, a special repair team went to clients’ homes, where they repaired snowmobiles promptly and free of charge. Almost every case was taken into account, analyzed and then algorithms were developed.

No cracks or damage

The Wolverine windshield is criticized by many for excessive vibrations, an unpleasant bend at the top and a very strange appearance. I liked the “windbreaker”. It reliably protects the pilot from snow and oncoming headwinds, and its “survivability” has no equal. No matter how much the snowmobiles were turned through their “ears” on the slopes, the windshields of all snowmobiles remained intact and undamaged.

Already the second batch of Wolverines at the beginning of 2014 received a number of improvements, and some suppliers of low-quality components forever lost lucrative contracts with Velomotors. Work on bugs continued throughout the year. And here you are - the radically modernized Stealth 800 Wolverine of 2015.

She has a motor!

On the first day, for warm-up, we went to Mount Semeinaya - more precisely, to that part of it that is called Meteo - as you might guess, there is a weather station located there. In principle, nothing complicated: an ordinary mountain serpentine road with long, gentle climbs. There was only one problem - that day the heavenly office ordered another multi-ton portion of fresh powder for “Pri”, covering the road with a thick white blanket. During the first 100–200 meters of the climb, our cavalcade seriously slowed down, but after a while the pace returned to normal. The first “Wolverine” confidently, without cursing or skidding, made its way up the untouched virgin soil of loose “powder” about a meter deep.

Start-up guarantee.

The standard equipment includes underbody protection, a power bumper and a crankcase oil heating system - if you have to start the engine at low temperatures. Two batteries are standardly installed on a snowmobile - a regular one and a so-called “gel” one, another insurance for guaranteed engine starting in any conditions.

Light on the road

. Due to frequent rollovers, jumps and fast driving over potholes, the fasteners fail and the headlights fall inward. The designers of Velomotors promised to overcome this problem. And at the same time, improve the headlight adjustment system so that the headlights shine not only into the sky, but they can also be directed at the road.

Having cheerfully climbed to the top, we figured that going down the road was somehow not comme il faut. We are in Pri, the Mecca of freeriders! May the snowboarders forgive us, for whom we slightly “saved” their favorite slope: the outrage was committed only for the sake of art. To be honest, it was scary at first. Launching a 370 kg snowmobile down a steep slope with very dense vegetation is quite a trick. Naturally, there was no question of any proper backcountry with the Wolverine. Nevertheless, on the descent, everyone appreciated the good connection between the driver and the snowmobile through the throttle trigger: there were no jerks or dips, the machine was controlled with micron precision, successfully maneuvering between the trees.

Four colors

For 2015, hoods are available in black, yellow, blue and white. Camouflage - only in the form of a special cape.

Reincarnation

Outwardly remaining the same, in 2015 the Wolverine was reincarnated as a completely different device. New engine, new suspension and gearbox. Operating modes of the “box”: L – low gear, H – high gear, R – reverse and N – neutral. The gearshift lever moves with light effort, and not with the blow of a duty sledgehammer.

In general, they did the right thing by replacing the old Chinese ODES engine with a motor of their own design. Yes, yes, don’t be surprised – your own! And although the new engine is still being produced outside of Russia (where exactly is not officially specified), Velomotors speaks with full responsibility about it exclusively as its brainchild. Well, it’s their right, in my humble opinion, when the engine begins to be manufactured in Russia (which I am 90 percent sure of), then this will truly become another grandiose achievement of Velomotors.

In the front and rear suspensions

New gas shock absorbers were installed. The snowmobile now has the concepts of softness and comfort. Front travel – 150 mm, rear suspension travel – 170 mm

Now the new “heart” of the “Wolverine”, in my opinion, is very similar to the similar V-shaped “eight hundred” Rotax. Naturally, I could be wrong, but what there is definitely no doubt about is that the Wolverine has acquired a really good engine. There are practically no vibrations, dynamics and traction characteristics have noticeably improved. This is understandable: 67 “horses” versus the previous 59. There were no problems with overheating, the tees of the cooling system and fuel lines did not burst, and the engine mounts did not break. In addition, the rubber elements did not fly off the rear suspension rollers, and the rear suspension itself withstood the toughest jumps and rapid drives along the “comb”.

We traveled far and wide around Priiskovoye - Bald Mountain, Secret Valley, Transvaal and Ivanovskaya mountains. For religious reasons, only GUS (“Mountain of the Killed Snowmobile”) was avoided - why tease a sleeping dog? Our mini-trips on the Wolverines already had enough exciting activities. For example, we experimented, trying to find the limit of maneuverability of a 60 cm wide track. Naturally, taking into account the large snow, the terrain and the location of the devil on the horns, we damn well wanted to climb to the very tips of these horns, which is why we had to dig out endlessly.

One competitor

In the budget equipment segment, Wolverine has the only competitor - Taiga Bars 850 from Russian Mechanics. And although at retail the Rybinsk snowmobile is about 3000–3500 dollars more expensive than the Wolverine, it also found its customers. The current crisis will force many models to be removed from the market or their prices to be radically changed.

But one cannot blame the Wolverine for its weak off-road properties - these machines fully correspond to the level of a modern utilitarian SWT class snowmobile. Although if you add a little more power to the engine and install a caterpillar with a toe larger than its 20 mm, then this device will become many times more attractive to potential customers.

You could also play with the CVT settings. On some copies - in my impressions, obviously due to the variator - sometimes on hills there was a deficit of traction during acceleration. If we imagine that we would have loaded drags on the “tail”, we would have to look for detours.

Strong - that's a fact!

Of course, Wolverine also had problems. More precisely, problems. Here are some minor troubles from the series “do not affect the speed”: plastic button covers were “lost” on the steering control units; A couple of snowmobiles had their seat covers burst along a seam; The heating of the steering wheel grips turned out to be catastrophically weak. And when driving fast on a rough road, the rear plastic case regularly left its normal place. Unfortunately, the expansion pads on the skis of three snowmobiles, unable to withstand the loads, began to collapse on the sides.

Because of this, the Velomotors engineers were seriously upset, but we, on the contrary, were happy: without extensions, it is easier and more convenient to drive a snowmobile, and the “snowball” rolls over on its side much more willingly. It is clear that all sorts of boondocking for hunters and fishermen (to whom, in fact, the snowmobile is addressed) are deeply “parallel”, but, let’s be honest, “Wolverine” still has room to grow in terms of the quality of development of individual elements. And yet the fact remains: not a single snowmobile in Priiskovoye has seriously broken down, all the engines are normal, the suspensions are intact, there are no glitches with the electronics. Not even a single windshield was cracked. Although, needless to say, the “snowballs” tumbled down the slopes through their “ears” shamelessly. It turned out to be a strong car!

Appearance

The hood of this motorcycle is distinguished by its smooth lines and streamlining. There are no strange creases, recesses or protrusions in which snow usually accumulates. The frame is made of high-quality Russian steel, and the body is made of impact-resistant elastic plastic, which does not lose its qualities even in severe frost. The aerodynamically optimized windshield allows the driver to see everything ahead without bending or standing up.

The underseat space is increased and allows you to fit 2 batteries at once. The new product has increased heating of the steering wheel grips, an improved air intake system, and the electrical wiring is equipped with moisture-protected connectors.

Their total working volume is 800 cubic meters. The piston stroke is 71.5 millimeters. An injection system is used to inject fuel into the combustion chambers. The rated output power reaches 49.28 kilowatts, which translates to 67 horsepower.

Start-up guarantee

The standard equipment includes underbody protection, a power bumper and a crankcase oil heating system - this is very useful if you have to start the engine at low temperatures. Two batteries are standardly installed on a snowmobile - a regular one and a so-called “gel” one. The second is needed for additional insurance of equipment operation in any conditions.

Ride quality

Snowmobile Wolverine uses a telescopic front suspension, the travel of which is 150 millimeters. The rear suspension is pendulum type, with a track width of 600 millimeters. All this provides the snowmobile with excellent cross-country ability and comfortable movement on almost any surface. This also had a positive effect on the maneuverability of the snowmobile. It is capable of turning at fairly high speeds.

Which ski extensions for the Stealth 800 Wolverine snowmobile should I choose?

If the original ski extensions are broken and the original spare part cannot be found, you can replace the part with a similar one from some other snowmobiles. The angle of attack of the ski can be very large and it will slow down. On some snowmobiles, skis can be moved back and forth by changing their position. Again, if the expander is set too forward, when riding back the skis begin to bury themselves under the snow like a plow. A certain balance is needed so that they do not bury themselves, and so that they do not create an obstacle to the movement of a large one in the snow.

I installed extensions for Yamaha (Rosplast No. 10) at 350 mm. They stood up like family. I tried it yesterday near the garage! Let's see how they perform in deep snow in winter.

Ease of use

Stels 800 has a comfortable seat designed for two people. Also one of the features of this is quite high traction characteristics. The machine is capable of dragging a load weighing up to 300 kilograms on a drag sleigh. And this does not include the driver and cargo placed in the trunk.

The steering grips are heated, which prevents your hands from getting cold while driving and prevents you from being distracted from driving, while getting pleasant emotions from driving in the snow. The standard equipment includes a tow bar, which allows you to tow heavy loads without any problems. There is also a spacious case.

Stealth Wolverine fully corresponds to the level of a modern utilitarian budget-class snowmobile. It has everything you need for daily work in off-road conditions. It is also suitable for outdoor activities outside the city (for example, it is actively used by athletes to deliver ski equipment to the foot of the mountains).

STELS S800. "Wolverine" beginning

This year, a shelf of domestic snowmobiles has arrived: the hegemony of the products of “Russian Mechanics” and Japanese “Vikings” in the market of purely utilitarian snowmobiles is about to be disrupted by the ubiquity: the first batch of 100 STELS S800 “Wolverine” snowmobiles has already been sent to customers

Natalia Umnova
invited us back in the spring to try out the prototype of her snowmobile STELS S800 “Wolverine” - the company’s own development, based on proven elements from the world’s leading manufacturers.

The device turned out to be large, heavy and clumsy due to the massive nose, which houses a 2‑cylinder V-shaped engine, still made in Taiwan (motors will soon begin to be manufactured in Zhukovka). But the traction and power (59.8 hp) are more than enough to tow 300 kg of cargo, not counting the driver, passenger and luggage on the snowmobile itself. Torque is an important indicator for those who work on a snowmobile. And agility or a disposition to various “hooliganism” are secondary, not vitally important characteristics. Moreover, the “Wolverine” is capable of jumping if necessary: a durable telescopic front suspension with 150 mm of travel and a rail rear suspension with one shock absorber (170 mm of travel) will withstand temporary driver insanity or calmly handle an obstacle that gets in the way.

Despite its super-utility, the STELS S800 is perhaps the most comfortable among its classmates. At a cost of 245,000 rubles. - in the middle between the most budget-friendly domestic "Taiga Varyag 500" and the Japanese Yamaha Viking 540 Tough Pro - "Wolverine" is equipped with the softest seat in the class and high enough for comfortable steering while standing. A wide - 600 mm - track with 22 mm lugs provides the snowmobile with stability and maneuverability in deep snow.

The two-level seat is very soft and comfortable. The handlebars are high enough for standing up. Photo: STELS

After the spring tests, Velomotors engineers improved their prototypes: they modified the variator, modernized the steering wheel (adjusted the heater relays and eliminated other electrical defects), added neutral position sensors and a reverse sound signal. They also promised to work on the windshield: its complex shape provides good wind protection, but the windshields presented on the prototypes greatly interfered with driving, distorting the terrain in front of the snowmobile.

Super Wide Track is a class of utilitarian snowmobiles with a track width of 600 mm or more. Photo: STELS

First impressions of the STELS S800 remained quite positive. We can only hope that reliability will not let us down, because it is precisely this that is the key to the success of utilitarian equipment in the harsh Russian conditions.

Initial installation of carburetors and oil pump of the STELS Viking S600 snowmobile

Initial installation of carburetors and oil pump of the STELS Viking S600 snowmobile.

Conduct a visual inspection of the carburetors for damage or incompleteness. Connect the throttle control cables. When installing, pay attention to the correct installation of the clamp 2 relative to the ribs of the cover 1. The cover is screwed on “by hand”. If the latch, when the lid is folded, hits the edge of the lid, the lid is turned away until the latch coincides with the groove between the ribs.

Connect the oil pump control cable. Adjust the oil pump control cable. When you fully press the accelerator trigger (all the way to the handle), mark 1 on the oil pump control lever should coincide with mark 2 on the oil pump body. Adjustment is made using nuts 3.

Adjust the fuel mixture quality screws 1. Screw the screws all the way (until they touch, without force) and unscrew 1.75 (one and *) turns.

Adjust the screws for the amount of fuel mixture 1. Screw the screws until they stop (until they touch, without force) and unscrew them 2.25 (two and 1/4) turns.

Adjust the throttle control cables. The adjustment is performed by screwing in/unscrewing the adjusting screws 1 from the carburetor cover 2. When the accelerator trigger is fully pressed (all the way to the handle), the throttle valves 3 should open completely.

Adjust the timing of the opening of the throttle valves. The adjustment is carried out by screwing in/unscrewing the adjusting screws 1 from the carburetor cover 2. The throttle valves 3 should begin to rise simultaneously. Secure the adjusting screws in the carburetor cover with lock nuts.

Check the free play of the accelerator trigger. The free play of the accelerator trigger should be 1 - 3 mm. Check the position of the oil pump control lever when the accelerator trigger is released. When the accelerator trigger is released, mark 1 on the oil pump control lever should coincide with mark 2 on the oil pump housing.

Install enrichment valve control cables. Screw the cable contact nut 1 onto the adjusting screw until it stops in the cable braid. Screw the cable fastening screw 2 onto the adjusting screw until it stops against the lock nut.

Screw the enrichment valve control cable into the carburetor. When tightening, hold the cable braid and lock nut 1, turn only the cable fastening nut 2. There should be a gap of about 5 mm between the lock nut and the fastening nut.

Tighten the lock nuts of the enrichment cables until they stop against the fastening nut. Install carburetors on the snowmobile. Check engine operation. Idle speed of a warm engine + - 200 rpm. When turning on the enrichment agent on a warm engine, the engine should reduce speed until the engine stops.

Updated STELS VIKING 2.0

Having proven itself excellently in many long expeditions in harsh northern latitudes, the STELS VIKING snowmobile can rightfully be considered the master of the Russian winter. Good handling and thoughtful design allow the snowmobile to easily cover any distance. Continuous improvement and moving forward are one of the key operating principles.

In 2022, Velomotors engineers and developers did a lot of work to modernize the well-known STELS VIKING snowmobile model. Many components of this powerful, utilitarian snowmobile have been strengthened and refined. STELS VIKING version 2.0. ready for any challenge, be it traveling through the vast expanses of the North, hard housework or hunting and fishing trips.

The price is justified

Many people today are wondering whether it is worth purchasing a “Stealth” snowmobile - “800 Wolverine”. This model was appreciated more than others by those who had “Buran” and “Taiga” in their garage, compared to which this new equipment greatly outperforms. But you need to understand that the Wolverine cannot be compared with these two-stroke analogues, which any novice user could disassemble and assemble in half an hour in the cold. This snowmobile has a thinner, more complex and delicate design.

The price for it justifies itself: although it is expensive, it is reliable. “Wolverine” is a completely new price segment of domestic equipment for our country. Even with the dollar exchange rate rising today, STELS dealerships sell their creations for two hundred seventy-five thousand rubles. And this, according to many, is a fairly reasonable price for a well-equipped and powerful car, and not from a Chinese manufacturer. Moreover, the excellent ratio of quality and cost already from the first year of production made this machine a sales hit, which pulled the lion's share of buyers of heavy utilitarian snowmobiles sold in Russia from the market.

Performance characteristics of the unit

The Stealth Viking 800 snowmobile has improved technical characteristics. In the new model, the two-stroke engine was replaced with a more powerful four-stroke, the fuel system and air intake system were updated. The vertical placement of the batteries made it possible to increase the luggage compartment. The latest variation, V800 M 2.0 CVTech, has a 12-volt socket for external devices. All wiring is additionally equipped with moisture protection. Below is a detailed overview of the main components of this snowmobile track.

Body and how much it weighs

The body is based on a steel riveted-welded frame. The dry weight of the all-terrain vehicle is 370 kg, while the utility vehicle is capable of pulling cargo sleds weighing up to 500 kg.

Dimensional characteristics (in meters):

Length3.15
Width1.16
Distance between skis (on skates)92 cm
HeightBy saddle0.8
On the windshield1.47

The snowflake has two skis 1.065 m long and 18 cm wide. In addition, the machine has 15 cm ground clearance.

Suspension, brakes, track

The suspension consists of two parts - telescopic front and rail rear. Both have a spring mechanism and a hydropneumatic shock absorber. The stroke of the first is 15, and the second is 17 cm. For braking, as in most modern models, a hydraulic disc brake is used. Installed on the gearbox output shaft.

The role of propulsion is performed by a rubber-fabric caterpillar of the Taiga 600 brand with a front-mounted drive sprocket.

Caterpillar parameters:

Length3.937 m
Width50/60 cm
Lugs2.2 cm

Fuel and consumption

The snowmobile is equipped with a spacious 45-liter fuel tank. The manufacturer recommends using gasoline grade AI-92 and higher.

According to the technical data sheet, the average consumption is 12 liters per 100 km. However, in practice, depending on the type of terrain, this figure can increase to 15-25 liters per hundred.

Transmission

The chassis is equipped with a manual transmission, which is a variator with a V-belt. Three gears are available:

  • reduced;
  • increased;
  • reverse

In addition, the box also has a neutral position.

Engine and dynamics

This snowflake has a V-shaped four-stroke injection engine with liquid cooling. It differs from earlier models in increased efficiency and good power. The unit is controlled using an on-board computer.

Main parameters of the power unit:

TypeGasoline, injection
Number of cylinders2
Total volume800 cubes

An electric or manual starter is used to start. The maximum design speed according to the technical data sheet is 70 km/h. However, on smooth surfaces and ice the car can accelerate to 95 kilometers.

Test Drive

So, we continue to study the Stealth 600 Viking snowmobile. Price, reviews - these moments leave only positive impressions. This sample was thoroughly tested in the Republic of Khakassia, in a village called Priiskovy. Of course, many admired the domestic product. But journalists did not like the heavy weight of the product (365 kg), the dubious design of the windshield and hood, and the lack of a manual starter.

Getting acquainted with a walking and utilitarian novelty can be described as a “meeting on clothes.” Reviews of the Stealth 600 Viking snowmobile indicate that buyers receive mostly positive impressions of the appearance. The car is certainly interesting both in terms of cost and equipment. Undoubtedly, it will appeal not only to fans of fast driving across snowy fields, but also to those for whom a snowmobile is a real winter transport.

Test drive of the Stels S800 snowmobile. "Wolverine" releases his claws

Three hundred kilometers by car from the airport of Abakan, the capital of Khakassia, and we are in the village of Priiskovoe - a snowy paradise for freeriders. It was here that we tested the updated Russian snowmobile of the Stels brand, subjecting it to serious tests

Evgeniy Folin

The snowmobile has not changed in appearance, but its interior is almost entirely new. And the main thing about it, of course, is the company’s own new injection 800 cc engine. V-shaped liquid cooling with a capacity of 67 hp. With. and a maximum torque of 73 Nm is mounted on four silent blocks so that it can be installed on the 2013–2014 Wolverines. The crankcase is heated from a 12 V network in the “base”. Slides, rollers and ski extensions are made of modified material and have an increased service life.

In the “strong” heating position, the steering wheel grips are warm, but this is at –5°, but what will it be like at –25°?

We drive towards the serpentine along the icy streets of Priiskovoye. Despite the bizarre shape of the three-slide front skis, the 370-kilogram colossus responds quite sharply to steering input. Thanks to the large mass and improved suspension springs with hydraulic shock absorbers, the icy “washboard” does not make the steering wheel vibrate, and even on bumps it does not get knocked out of your hands.

Slippery footrests that get clogged with snow are the only serious drawback of ergonomics

Long climbs in the mountains allow you to feel the power of the engine and the correct settings of the variator - in any speed range, the reaction to pressing the gas trigger is instantaneous, without thinking. I skid through a 180-degree turn, blocking the brake disc. Gas! And again, without thinking for a moment, the well-tuned variator picks up the frozen 600-mm caterpillar, bringing the stern of my “cruiser” further into the turn before another long climb...

“Wolverine” can show his closest and not so close competitors not only his claws, but also his teeth

The snowstorm and strong wind, which had been noisy all night, did not subside in the morning. However, all seven Wolverines started up as one from the first press of the Start button. We went to the pass, to the beginning of which there was a fairly calm road, which allowed us to feel that this “utilitarian” was not inferior in comfort to any other “tourist”. A third person can easily fit on the soft saddle. The driver's position is comfortable even for long trips. The steering column can be adjusted by moving back and forth, and its height allows the driver, who is about 185 cm tall, to move while standing without bending over. The windshield does not shake and protects your hands from the wind. The view through it is without distortion (they were present on the first models). Thanks to improved engine balancing, vibrations are practically not felt. The only downsides, perhaps, are the gearbox handle resting on the left leg on bumps (not critical) and slippery footpegs.

There is enough space on the snowmobile for both passengers and cargo. I would also like heated passenger grips

On smooth, deep powder, the snowball moves without a hint of sinking at any speed, even with a sharp start and without ski extensions. But as soon as you move back, you immediately drown. The same thing happens on a steep climb with sharp gas. So, not having reached the top a couple of meters, one of the cars gets stuck and falls on its side.

The headlights are quite dim and not far away

“Wolverine” worked for some time, lying upside down, before it was turned off and lowered head over heels. Four chaotic flips with jumps, and the “beast” is back on its feet! Is he ready to run again? Starting from the rollover site and along the entire trail, there are no stains from gasoline or oil leaks, under the hood is also dry. The windshield is intact and in place, the rest of the exterior is also unchanged, with the exception of the hood parts, which were kept “on their word of honor” anyway: the headlights were hanging on the wires, the decorative grilles were popping up, the stickers were partially peeled off. But the instant start of the engine caused admiration! For the purity of the experiment, we jump several times on the same car from a two-meter springboard. Suspension in fully working order!

When moving backwards in deep snow, the track buries itself

On the way back through a large birch grove with frequently growing and abnormally crooked trees, I check my maneuverability. If the wide hood of the Wolverine fits through, then the trunk arches will slip through even with a full turn of the steering wheel. The gearbox, which we had to use constantly in these thickets, switches manually and has four modes: high, low, neutral and reverse. All of them turned on easily, clearly and immediately on all seven machines participating in the test.

The wide hood limits the maneuverability of the snowmobile. It will be very useful to install a winch

One snowball finally ran into a birch tree, broke it with his ski, jumped up and landed on a stump. We examined the bottom - not a crack! Although additional protection for the pallet is offered by the manufacturer. As for the ski, its handle still burst.

It must be stated that the updated Stels S800 snowmobile has passed really serious, not at all “utilitarian” tests with honor. This means that he will cope with his direct responsibilities with a bang.
