The Chinese two-wheeled motorized vehicle "Omax-250" belongs to the category of full-fledged light sports motorcycles. Description

The Chinese motorcycle "Omax-250" is distinguished by a high level of reliability of starter elements and batteries. The service life of these parts is at least 2-3 years. A small disadvantage of the power unit is the carburetor configuration, which does not have an accelerator pump. At the same time, this practically does not affect the dynamics. The bike's speed limit is 170 km/h, which allows you to fully realize the engine's potential.

The front brake assembly is a pair of discs with radial calipers and reinforced hoses. The design also includes an inverted fork with hydraulic compression control. The steering column is made in the form of clip-ons, the plastic cylindrical reservoir for brake fluid is made in a traditionally sporty style.

Frame

The frame is very flimsy, unreliable, all crooked with broken geometry and welded from such thin profiles that could only probably be found on sale... And according to my feelings, it was welded without the use of a slipway, “by eye”... The “quality” of the welds is simply disgusting , traces of rough grinding with a grinder are visible everywhere, and besides, all this junk is poorly painted. After a year of use, the frame burst in several places and became covered with a fair layer of rust; the owner had to re-weld and paint it.

SK250 X6

This modification in Europe is also known under the name Romet Division 249. The model differs from its “brothers” in multi-spoke wheels, a triangular, ergonomic, shortened muffler, and falls into the “naked” category.

"Omax-250 X6" is equipped with a central stand, original LED indicators and a taillight. The instrument panel includes a dial tachometer, a liquid crystal display that displays speed parameters, remaining fuel, mileage, time and active gear number. The seats are removable and can be removed by turning a key and a latch. There is a storage compartment under the driver's seat for tools and small accessories.

The power unit is equipped with a two-valve atmospheric design, made according to the ONS scheme. This approach made it possible to increase power and maximum speed. The exhaust system consists of a pair of pipes, although the engine has only one cylinder. The power plant is equipped with a balancing mechanism, which reduces vibration at high speeds, the limit of which is 130 km/h. For more correct operation of the device, it is advisable to accelerate it to the maximum after running it for at least a thousand kilometers. The gearbox has five ranges, the speeds change smoothly and with reasonable lever travel.

Suspension

The front wheel suspension is independent, two-link type, not made reliably, but quite well and of high quality. I was especially pleased with the powerful ball joints; most likely they were borrowed from some car or ATV of a heavier class.

The front suspension works roughly and instead of softening the unevenness of the road, it does the opposite - it throws the ATV up on bumps. It is not clear why they stuck it here then, if it does not fulfill its function. For beauty or what?..

The front wheel brakes are drum brakes with a cable drive, which also have a bunch of adjustment elements inherent in all brake systems with a cable drive.

After two hours of adjustments, I still could not somehow get these brakes to work. So I left it, left it as it was... And it was without working front brakes.

The rear suspension is dependent, pendulum with a central monoshock absorber with stepwise adjustment of the spring preload. The workmanship of the rear suspension elements is simply disgusting, unlike the front one. The entire design is based on two flimsy tubes; besides, all this junk is welded poorly and with obvious distortion.

The chain tension adjustment built into the rear swingarm does not work properly. I was never able to somehow tighten the slightly stretched chain. The adjustment grooves in which the tension mechanism rotates are too short and do not allow the chain to be tensioned. I tried to shorten the chain - the effect was the same: when moving back, the bolts hit the adjustment grooves and did not allow the lock to be fastened on the chain. Keep this point in mind: the chain tension here is adjustable within an extremely limited range, so if the chain stretches the slightest, you will have to replace it with a new one.

The second unpleasant moment is associated with adjusting the chain tension: after unscrewing the bolts of the tension mechanism, the rear wheels become skewed by the front ones and they have to be somehow aligned with the front wheels using a tape measure. And besides, this has to be done simultaneously with adjusting the chain tension. Let me tell you, it’s still a lot of work...

But the rear suspension works well, but still, as for me, it is rather weak on large bumps and breaks through. The rear disc brakes perform their function, the ATV settles well, there are no complaints about their performance and quality. Proper protection of the brake disc and drive sprocket is already present in the basic configuration.

Below are the characteristics of the Omax-250 X6 (a Chinese-made sports motorcycle):

Along with the reasonable price, consumers are pleased with the dynamics and original appearance, although it is unlikely to be suitable for experienced racers. Some owners complain about the rapid wear of the cylinder and tires, as well as the low speed by the standards of sports two-wheeled vehicles. Nevertheless, getting spare parts for the Omax-250 will not be a particular problem, unlike its Japanese counterparts. In addition, “Japanese” ones cost 2-3 times more.

As evidenced by practice and feedback from owners, it is better to buy a motorcycle of the brand in question from official dealers who provide a warranty and service. In general, for its price category, the Chinese sports bike looks pretty good and behaves confidently on the road, giving the rider pleasure when moving on asphalt and other types of trails.

Advantages

The ABM GX 250 is one of the many small-capacity bikes from the Middle Kingdom that literally flooded the lower-priced segment of the motorcycle market.

There are also advantages:

  • Frisky . As for a Chinese, the maximum speed is normal. But if you change the stars, the acceleration dynamics can also be improved.
  • Powerful . Having a small engine capacity, the motorcycle allows you to shoot between rows without losing speed when changing the throttle.
  • Reliable . Single cylinder, air cooled, chain. There is simply nothing to break, and if problems arise, the nearest store has everything you need.
  • Beautiful appearance . Although it’s not a sport in terms of performance characteristics, it’s a design!!
