Test drive Moto MoriniCorsaro 1200

The way it is! The Morini motto was revived by the founding family, or rather two families. Half of the ownership shares belong to the Morini and Bertie families. Why are we explaining this? Because they are full of initial enthusiasm and love for motorsports, which, unfortunately, is very rare today. But KTM has done well with a similar key, MV Agusta and now Morini are doing great too. We are undoubtedly witnessing a renaissance in the European motorcycle industry, which is not easily outclassed by competitors from the Far East.

The Moto Morini Corsaro 1200 is interesting primarily for its philosophy. First they made the heart, which is the engine, which in this case is a two-cylinder engine with four valves per cylinder, controlled by gears and a chain.

They all rely on simplicity and reliability of the design. Does the fact tell you that the first valve adjustment is only necessary after 60,000 to 300,000 kilometers? Or that a mechanic can do a great service with an engine mounted on a steel tubular frame, and that the target life is about XNUMX kilometers! Yes, these are all bold statements, even for Italians, who sometimes like to exaggerate a little. But understanding engine engineering brings everything together into a meaningful whole.

Franco Lambertini is an engineering guru who worked at Ferrari until 1970 and learned many secrets there. The name "bialbero corsa corta" was named after the famous 250 cc engine. See, with whom they were three-time Italian champions. Well, today this engine has a bore of 107 millimeters and a stroke of just 66 millimeters, which means that the very flat pistons move very quickly in it, and that the responsiveness of the engine is its strong point. But the torque and power are also quite good.
