Motorcycle concept → Competition project “Russian motorcycle”

My name is Zhikharsky Anton, and this is my first post! The motorcycles in my life were different - Soviet, Japanese, European... But it just so happened that this season I was left completely without a motorcycle (not counting the disassembled CZ which is waiting for it to turn into a worthy custom). By chance, I came across a competition in Moto magazine, the goal of which was to draw a possible “Russian motorcycle” in the near future. I had never designed a piece of equipment before, much less a motorcycle (and in general I have no education in this field), but I liked the idea, especially since I had some free time, and of course the opportunity to win a “Chinese” bike was tempting (I doubt I I would buy one myself). Unfortunately, I didn’t win the competition, there were a lot of good works, but I gained experience. And now I would like to know the opinions of ordinary guys on motorcycles about my concept... Briefly about the project: Motard in onroad and offroad versions, a 500 cc liquid-cooled V2 engine in a diagonal aluminum frame.

Premium electric motorcycle from Russia

NAMI (Research Automotive Institute) specialists have developed a Russian electric motorcycle made in the style of the domestic premium automobile brand Aurus. According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, the motorcycle was created taking into account the requirements for this type of transport by specialists from the Special Purpose Garage of the Federal Security Service of Russia (FSO). In particular, the requirements regarding the functional qualities of the motorcycle were taken into account.

“The motorcycle will be made in a style that ensures full aesthetic integration into the Aurus Russia brand line,” noted the developers. Currently, its Aurus range consists of only four cars - a sedan, a limousine, a crossover and a minivan - and the electric motor is not included in their package.

At the time of publication of the material, the motorcycle did not have its own name, and it itself was not ready for mass production. In other words, this is still just a prototype, as confirmed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade on its Instagram account. This means that by the time the final version is released, the electric motorcycle may have a completely different design and powertrain.

Russian premium electric motorcycle

Mass production of the electric motorcycle may begin in 2022-2023, as announced by the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov at the beginning of February 2022.

As of March 11, 2022, it was known that the motorcycle would be produced in at least two modifications - one would be used by the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Ministry of Internal Affairs to perform various tasks, and the second would be offered to ordinary consumers. The editors of CNews contacted the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Aurus and NAMI with a question about the cost of the consumer version of the electric motorcycle, but at the time of publication of the material they were unable to provide an answer.

"Ural Retro"

A modern modification that imitates classic models of the mid-twentieth century. This is emphasized by the shape of the steering wheel, the drop-shaped fuel tank, and the round light element at the rear. Such unique elements were characteristic of that period.

Black polishing gives this Russian motorcycle an original shine; the bike is equipped with seats covered in genuine leather. The final touch is the gear shift knob on the gas tank, which has a wooden knob. Optionally, you can purchase a cover, a windshield for a side trailer, a parking brake, and roll bars.

"Ural Solo"

This road bike can easily be considered a “classic”. The model was improved several times and was equipped with engines ranging from 650 to 750 cubic centimeters. In addition, the electrical circuit and type of carburetors have changed. This bike is a powerful and modern option, stylized as units of the 50s of the last century.

The unit is equipped with a pendulum suspension at the rear and a telescopic one at the front. The equipment includes safety arches, an electric starter and a chrome-plated fuel tank with a capacity of 19 liters. The 18-inch wheels are equipped with spokes.
