Is it worth buying a Stealth ATV: reviews, models, characteristics

An ATV is not only a modern vehicle that is loved by fans of off-road travel, but also a reliable all-terrain vehicle that can overcome even the most difficult routes.

The Stealth brand is one of the few on the Russian market that has managed to secure a wide circle of fans over several years. What characteristics can the manufacturer present and is it profitable to buy this advertised brand?

Stels ATVs

represents a real breakthrough in speed, comfort and quality. The assembly of ATVs is carried out in Russia, so the price looks quite affordable compared to European and American analogues.

Of course, the opinions of professionals regarding the quality of this product differ, but beginners and novice athletes, for whom expensive equipment is not yet entirely accessible, are recommended to purchase a Stealth ATV. Reviews from amateurs who have tried this type of equipment indicate quite good technical characteristics and parameters, especially with gentle operation.

Advantages of Stealth ATVs

The developers suggest paying attention to the following positive qualities of the Stels product line:

  • reliability;
  • availability;
  • endurance;
  • strength;
  • sustainability;
  • maneuverability;
  • products are time-tested;
  • availability of European certification;
  • availability of utilitarian and sports models for different levels of driver training;
  • ease of selection of parts.

All of the above advantages cannot but go unnoticed by Stealth ATVs. The entire model range, in addition, is characterized by ease of maintenance and wear resistance.

Purpose

The appearance is quite trivial for an ATV, the performance characteristics are mediocre... Meanwhile, the four-wheeled all-terrain vehicle "Stealth-300" is one of the most purchased models from the entire Velomotors range. What attracts buyers? Is it really just a modest price?

In fact, this modest workhorse is quite hardy and unpretentious. Often this ATV finds itself under the saddle of a hunter and tourist, a geologist and prospector, a farmer, the owner of a large herd or flock, a resident of mountainous, hilly or swampy areas. A Stealth-300 ATV can go where a motorcycle and a car are not allowed to go.

Types of ATVs from Stels

ATVs are usually divided into two types: utilitarian and sports.

The line of sports ATVs is the most powerful racing equipment, which has impressive parameters and has increased cross-country ability. A striking example of this is the Stealth Cheetah ATV. This model has several varieties that differ in power.

Utilitarian ATVs are designed for amateur riding; they have a less powerful engine, which nevertheless allows you to easily overcome difficult obstacles.

Utilitarian equipment is usually used when traveling for hunting, fishing and just for entertainment. This group also includes children's and teenagers' all-terrain vehicles.

Children's ATVs are a line of all-terrain vehicles that help introduce children to cross-country trips on their own transport. The products are available in several colors and are designed to carry one or two children.

Teenage ATVs are usually purchased for children over ten years of age.

Positive reviews

Often, real reviews from owners provide much more information about a product than the data provided by the manufacturer and colorful booklets from distributors. Before purchasing, it always makes sense to get acquainted with the opinions of those who have already driven the Stealth-300 ATV off-road.

Reviews from owners of this popular and widespread vehicle, fortunately, are not uncommon. They are extremely unanimous.

Many owners are frankly delighted with the purchase. According to them, the ATV is very durable and reliable; if handled with care, it can serve faithfully for many years.

Those who like to conquer off-road terrain and the availability of spare parts cannot but rejoice. They are produced in Russia and China. In both cases the price is quite affordable.

High ground clearance and large wheels with deep tread are the key to excellent cross-country ability. This indicator has earned a lot of praise from those who managed to test this equipment. At the same time, the efficiency is also pleasing, fuel consumption is low.

The spacious, comfortable chair attracted increased attention. Even driving on gravel, paving stones and potholes will not bring discomfort.

Many buyers speak positively about the configuration. It includes an electric winch, hand guards, rear-view mirrors, horn, hazard signal, tow bar, and extended fenders.

To summarize, we can highlight the strongest points of the model:

  • reliability and endurance;
  • efficiency;
  • unpretentiousness;
  • comfort.

Sports motorcycles are represented by a number of rear-wheel drive models. The most powerful of them is the Stealth Cheetah 850G ATV.

The vehicles are excellent for sports competitions and have good performance. Features of sports models

The manufacturer recommends purchasing a Stealth ATV for racing. Reviews about this line of vehicles vary. Is Stealth Cheetah as good as promised?

Among the positive qualities, fans of fast driving note:

  • fairly low price;
  • excellent ground clearance;
  • excellent off-road performance;
  • effective lugs;
  • powerful electric winch;
  • durable underbody protection.

There are also athletes dissatisfied with the purchase who were able to test the ATV at races. They give the following arguments:

  • instability on a flat road;
  • not convenient enough to use due to the design of the gearbox not being fully thought out;
  • declared power at races is not always enough;
  • frequent need for repairs.

Most athletes who have tested the Stealth at races are of the same opinion - the ATV is not bad, but it is not suitable for competitions. It is better to use it for walking.

Features of operation

Reviews of the Stealth Leopard 500 ATV are quite contradictory due to minor design flaws. For example, users who bought the Leopard for tourism noted that the frame was a bit short. Driving with a passenger becomes a real challenge.

Also in the Leopard the quality of the fuel system, exhaust pipe, and main lighting is poor. Therefore, the buyer should immediately tune in to upgrading the machine. But despite all the shortcomings, the device is extremely popular.

Judging by the reviews of the Stels ATV 500 YS Leopard, the car has a number of advantages:

  • Economy. A full tank is enough for 120-130 km.
  • Reasonable price. The basic version of the device costs 339 thousand rubles, and the car with an extended frame costs 349 thousand rubles.
  • Versatility. The ATV is suitable for work, racing and outdoor activities.
  • Cheap spare parts. You can find parts for Leopard at a service center, online store or at a dealer.
  • Reliability. A good-quality car will last about 2 years without serious breakdowns. The engine resource begins to deplete only after 3-4 years of active use.

The owners will also be pleased with the equipment of the ATV. Even the basic set is enough for comfortable driving and work.

Utility ATVs

Utilitarian models are quite popular. Models with a displacement engine, such as the Stealth 600 or Stealth 500 ATV, are used for tourism purposes. Utilitarian vehicles are well-designed in appearance and have an attractive design.

Special mention should be made about the 300V model. It is suitable for both beginners and teenagers. Its technical component is similar to the more advanced models 500 and 600. The 300V all-wheel drive ATV is often used on the farm for transporting building materials, snow, etc.

Specifications

Specifications vary depending on the model. What is common is that all structural elements are securely fastened to a welded tubular frame. Double wishbone suspensions have spring-hydraulic shock absorbers. The single-cylinder engine has 4 strokes and a liquid cooling system. Ignition system – CDI electric starter, transmission type – CVT.

The Stealth 500 ATV , average in parameters, has the following characteristics:

  • engine capacity – 499 cm3;
  • power – 32 horsepower;
  • fuel tank volume – 20 l;
  • ground clearance - 300 mm;
  • wheelbase – 1490 mm.

Its improved model has improved characteristics. This is a Stealth 600 ATV with a 594 cm3 engine and a power of 39 hp. With.

It depends on how you use it

Ride with caution, I have seen more than once how Hisuns lost their wheels and riders flew off the quads. A good helmet and equipment is simply vital! Did you use an injector or a carburetor?

  • Login to comment

Carburetor injector I'm afraid

  • Login to comment

What to expect. Many people begin to believe in God more strongly when they buy stealth :)

Why do the calipers fly and are poorly screwed on?

  • Login to comment

The studs can't stand it

If you're serious, you should immediately take care of the fact that you need to change the ignition to Grishko, buy spare wheel studs, or better yet, order from a turner, spray the winch with silicone, throw out the metal cable and install synthetics.

If you keep an eye on it periodically, will it serve? And who says it’s super cool that they say yes to the first good dirt and skiff, I don’t even know

Before you get into the mud, you need to sort it out and make a quadcoil out of it, because after the crooked Stealth IPO factories, the quadrocycle is sold for 200 pieces in the assemble it yourself format, or if you want to drive, learn to repair it yourself.

This means, first, you really need to have spare studs, preferably from other equipment or turned by a turner, since if you lose a wheel, you may not come home again. I have personally observed many cases.

The second point is the variator belt and clutch. Don’t expect that if you drive into the mud you’ll come back from there. You need to have a spare variator belt and preferably not the one that comes in stock, but some kind of Ultima. If the clutch dies, we take it from Yamaha.

The stock winch is complete horror, and in difficult times you won’t even be able to hang yourself on it, since inside it there are gears made of cardboard that are ground down in one go. The solenoid always fills with water, in general the winch either needs to be rebuilt right away, or it’s better to buy some kind of Tmax or Superwinch.

Reviews

The most popular model is the 500GT. Many motorists have managed to purchase and test this Stealth ATV in practice. Reviews are both positive and negative. Although the company is considered quite good in terms of producing utilitarian equipment, not all customers were satisfied with the purchase.

The following shortcomings were noticed:

  • not all parts are screwed on well, especially the gear shift lever;
  • the signal does not always work;
  • the winch is initially dry, there is a coating of rust in places;
  • at speeds over 50 km/h, cracks appear in the plastic;
  • Driving together is quite dangerous; the space for a passenger is not fully thought out.

Of course, these are not critical shortcomings, and it is quite possible that the percentage of defects is very small. The owners also note the advantages of the equipment:

  • ATVs "Stealth" prices are quite affordable.
  • Comfortable driver's seat.
  • Excellent external data.
  • High cross-country ability.
  • Economical fuel consumption.
  • Ease of repair.

It is worth saying that the Stealth 500 ATV can be easily improved. This applies to the mode of use of the vehicle. Let’s say that for those who like to travel on water, the tires are changed to special ones, which allows the ATV to literally “float”. In addition, tuning centers can add the number of passenger seats, hand warmers and other useful additions.

Reviews from Stealth ATV 300 owners

Stels ATV 300 B, 2010
My ATV successfully copes with all road irregularities. Each of the available four wheels is equipped with independent suspension and the ability to engage all-wheel drive; these two components give 100% confidence that the ATV will not let the driver down and will “steer” out of any situation. The maximum speed for the Stels ATV 300 B was 80 km/h, which equates to 19 horsepower in power, so, as someone who likes to ride with the wind on a broken road, the Stels ATV 300 B did not disappoint me at all. The ATV successfully copes with climbs of various levels and easily flies over small jumps, without being stopped by mud and swamps. The biggest climb that I conquered on an all-terrain vehicle was a climb of about 45 degrees on a rural road (dirt, holes and bumps). At the same time, from the beginning of the climb to the end, I did not have to doubt for a second that I might “stall” somewhere halfway or that I would tip over along with the all-terrain vehicle on my back. Stels ATV 300 V passed the difficult test with dignity and took me to the top of the mountain. It is worth noting the fact that even when driving at maximum speed on a bumpy road, the work of the shock absorbers smooths out this fact and ensures an extremely convenient and comfortable stay for the pilot to the maximum. This ATV model will take its owner along uneven roads, swampy areas and forests, in other words, where a passenger car cannot go even in dry summer weather. We are also pleased with the fairly spacious volume of the fuel tank, which is equal to 14.5 liters, thanks to which the all-terrain vehicle can move without stopping for about 2 hours, which makes it possible to travel long distances.

Stels ATV 300 B, 2013

We've been looking at an ATV for a long time, we really wanted to get a Grizzly 450, but the price of a new one is very high. We bought a Stels ATV 300 B, the running-in was carried out correctly, even before the first maintenance the variator belt began to whistle, the low beam lamp burned out. Everything was fixed during maintenance at the service center free of charge. They brought it to the garage, left it overnight, in the morning it wouldn’t start, changed the spark plug to an NLC (no more problems with starting), after 2 days the belt whistled again. A week later the muffler came off (welded), a few days later the engine mount to the frame came off (a strange design decision), I overcooked it and modernized it a little, drove for a month and nothing happened, then the rear stabilizer of the right wheel came off (overcooked again). I redid the wiring a little (made it more airtight) and installed good lamps. Having done all this and several more times, having visited the service center, I realized that I only need to repair the Stels ATV 300 B myself, because... There are a lot of flaws in the design that can only be corrected by yourself. In general, an ATV for real money, for people with “hands”.

Advantages

: reasonable price. Controls in suitable locations.

Flaws

: quality. The engine is weak. High fuel consumption.

Stels ATV 300 B, 2012

In March 2014, I became the owner of a 2-year-old Stels ATV 300 B. The mileage at that time was 960 km, I took it for 90,000 rubles. I brought it home in a VAZ 21073 car, without a trailer. The one-way distance was approximately 270 km. They dismantled it almost down to the bare frame, only the gearbox and CV joints remained on it. As you can understand, the first jambs began to emerge even during disassembly. The rubber bands on it, except for the CV joint boots and silent blocks, at that time lost all their properties. They barely knocked out a bolt from the rear upper right arm; it should be separately noted that most of the bolts and nuts on it are 16 and 15 keys. Fortunately, the former owners had these. They broke the front right fender lining, they couldn’t unscrew the bolt, and the linings are fragile in the cold. We assembled it in a couple of days and after that we started testing it. When filling in antifreeze, it turned out that the pump was leaking. I took it apart and ground the graphite on a flat surface, there were no more problems with it. Brakes: upon purchase, the former owner said that the main ones did not work because the rear pipe had burst. I didn't have the opportunity to buy another one. I used manual ones, they fell apart, they didn’t last long, now the rear left caliper is connected to the foot pedal. The original pads don’t last for a long time, so I took them from a scooter and cooked them on my ears. Traction: quite decent for such a volume; the Stels ATV 300 B could easily carry two people on it and a 100-kilogram load on a trailer out of the forest. The speed according to the passport is 55 km. I clocked a maximum of 67 km. Sometimes power is lost on it, the engine responds only to half the throttle. Gasoline consumption is quite tolerable, you will be exhausted in a day to empty the tank. Front suspension: ball and rod ends are initially not so great, they quickly begin to play. This is so provided by the manufacturer. Forward on downshift and at full speed it slips normally. It’s better to put an additional mesh on the radiator, it’s great for filling it with grass seeds. There were no special problems with the wiring, the headlights shine so-so, now it looks like the starter relay is about to go bad, the mileage has now exceeded 2000.

Stels ATV 300 B, 2013

Considering that the Stels ATV 300 B is my first ATV and I have nothing to compare it with, I will rely only on my emotions. The whole team opened the box, it took about forty minutes, it was packed well. Then, as I was advised on the forum, all plastic parts were removed from the ATV and all bolts, tubes, pipes were pulled, all fluids and tire pressure were checked. And here it is, the long-awaited departure. The first impressions, of course, were amazing, the cross-country ability is excellent, even with rear-wheel drive it goes where only a caterpillar tractor would dare to go, but if you turn on the full speed and reduce it, then it’s a fairy tale. Now about the unpleasant stuff. The instruction manual for the Stels ATV 300 B does not contain some functions that are on the ATV, in particular there is an over button on the left handle. There's something there for which she doesn't know. After 20 minutes of riding, the reverse gear started to slip out, we adjusted the traction, and it seemed to start engaging. An hour's drive after they turned it off. It won’t start, the battery is dead, it’s very bad that there’s no kick starter, if this happens in the forest, good luck, I took it off, put it on charge, I’m thinking of changing it to a car one, fortunately there’s plenty of space there, I just need to redo a few things. In the end, we had a great ride, we even had to use a winch, oddly enough it works, and pulled the ATV out of a huge hole. Now about something very unpleasant: I lost control and drove into the curb at a decent speed, bent the lower left arm. Now I’ll look for it, and at the same time check how it works with spare parts for them.

Advantages

: excellent maneuverability. Engine response. Landing.

Children's line of ATVs

Children's ATVs "Stealth 50c" and 100RS are designed with the safety of the little driver in mind. These vehicles have a remote control with which you can adjust the speed limit. The maximum acceleration on such an ATV is 65 km/h, but manual control allows you to reduce this figure to walking speed.

Many fathers, wanting to instill in their child a love of motorcycles, turn their attention to the Stealth ATV. Reviews from parents indicate that this model is convenient, practical, compact and safe, so even a teenager can operate it.

The 50c and 100RS ATVs have a petrol engine with a displacement of 49.2 cc and 91.3 cc respectively. These models have a carburetor power system and an uncontrolled electric ignition system. Transmission – V-belt variator.

The cost of children's ATVs is 90-150 thousand rubles. Therefore, if the economic situation allows, the models described above for the future driver are a fairly good investment.
