Kawasaki ZXR750 sports motorcycle model

appeared in 1989 as the successor to the Kawasaki GPX750R and one of the main competitors to the Suzuki GSX-R750. The concept of Japanese sports motorcycles with an engine capacity of 750 cc was quite interesting: companies were trying to create a mid-range model, between 600 cc and 1000 cc, that had the advantages of both (light weight, handling) and the other (power). The Kawasaki ZXR750 is a prominent representative of such attempts.

The Kawasaki ZXR 750 model was aimed not only at the Japanese market, but was also actively sold in Europe and North America. Moreover, it is worth canceling that foreign markets were the main priority for sales. Japanese versions were produced with an engine of limited power up to 77 hp. (export full-power versions produced up to 128 hp; a power increase package of up to 145 hp was also available on models of recent years of production), which sharply reduced demand. In the North American market, the ZXR750 was sold under the name Kawasaki ZX-7 (ZX-7R)

.

Features of the Kawasaki ZXR 750 include an aluminum frame, an inertial charging system (since 1993), adjustable sports suspension, powerful 4-piston brakes, a 6-speed gearbox, an 18-liter fuel tank and a dry weight of 195 kg.

Main modifications of the Kawasaki ZXR 750:

  • Kawasaki ZXR750 / Ninja ZX-7
is the regular version of the motorcycle. Has a passenger seat. Designated as: ZX750H, ZX750J, ZX750L.
  • Kawasaki ZXR750R / Ninja ZX-7R
    - “track” version of the motorcycle. Was available from 1991 to 1994. It has a plug in place of the passenger seat, a 17-liter aluminum fuel tank (since 1993), flat-throttle carburetors, slightly increased engine power, fully adjustable suspension (with the ability to change height) and other gearbox settings.

1995 was the last year of production of the model, after which it came off the production line and was replaced by the Kawasaki ZX-7R / ZX-7RR. Currently, the ZXR750 model is quite rare both in Russia and at Japanese auctions, enjoying limited demand.

Key Features

Smooth power throughout the entire range

What makes a naked bike a true street race winner, be it on a city street, mountain road or highway? There's powerful acceleration and agility, and especially punchy torque at low to mid-range. The new Z750's improved low- to mid-range power performance comes from a redesigned exhaust system. New ignition timing further enhances the 750's already impressive high-rpm performance. The result is a flatter and longer torque curve from low to high revs, giving the engine a high-revving character and excellent agility. In achieving such characteristics, a significant role was also played by changing the design of centrifugal nozzles of super-intense turbulence and the use of additional oval dampers. These modifications to the intake system provide excellent engine response throughout the entire rev range. However, these are not the only changes to the Z750 engine design. Reduced internal friction and new engine mounting points significantly improve engine efficiency and the rider feels the power.

Design features for maximum performance at low and mid-range speeds

  • The updated shortened, oval-section muffler features a common exhaust control that adjusts back pressure to improve low- and mid-range response. Twin-hole caps mounted on the mufflers highlight the style of the new Z.
  • Modified camshaft cam profiles optimize dynamic performance in the low and mid-speed range.
  • Smaller intake and exhaust ports further enhance low- and mid-range performance.
  • Larger crankshaft jaws increase rotating mass (up approximately 7% over the 2006 model year), providing a noticeable increase in mid-range power for great driving pleasure.

Changes to improve ride quality and feel of the bike

  • New fuel injection system with high-precision electronic control unit.
  • Super-intense turbulence centrifugal injectors, as well as throttle valve bodies with reduced port diameters (32 mm instead of 34 mm) and additional oval flaps, provide ultra-smooth engine response to gas at any speed.
  • A new ignition rotor provides improved dynamics at high speeds.
  • The new engine mounting points are located closer to the engine's center of mass. Placing the engine mounting points behind the cylinder greatly reduces engine vibration transmitted to the driver. (See also section High Performance Chassis/Frame).
  • The ball bearing shift lever and redesigned shift drum provide absolute shift control and smoother shifting.
  • The changed gear ratio of the oil pump reduces mechanical energy losses.
  • New lightweight, high-efficiency radiator improves cooling.

Chassis with high information content

The new Z750 is specially designed to deliver maximum adrenaline on city streets, winding roads and highways. To achieve this, the chassis rigidity balance has been revised. The result is significantly better feedback than the previous model.

Further, the main tube has been moved forward 10mm, reducing the load on the front wheel and slightly lengthening the wheelbase. These changes give the new Z750 greater lightness and responsive handling while providing confident stability. In short, the updated chassis provides excellent feedback and excellent stability both in corners and on a straight line. Like the engine design changes, the chassis tuning reflects the Z750's focus on total superiority in all real-world riding conditions. The rider gains an unparalleled sense of confidence and a greater awareness of the motorcycle's capabilities, resulting in a more enjoyable riding experience.

Frame

  • The use of a new engine subframe, cast from aluminum alloy, allowed the front engine mounting points to be relocated. Previously, the mounting points were located in front of the cylinder head. After the changes were made, they were moved behind the cylinder block, closer to the center of mass of the engine. As a result, engine vibration transmitted to the driver (especially to the steering wheel) was reduced, which made driving more comfortable.
  • Using a combination of rigid and rubber fasteners, the chassis adjustment provides a feeling of excellent road stability and precise feedback. The result is excellent handling: the driver can better feel the behavior of the motorcycle.

Suspension

  • A new 41mm inverted fork replaces the conventional fork, providing unparalleled bike feel and improved feedback. Smooth action in the top half of the stroke is complemented by firmer damping in the bottom half. This creates a long-travel feel at the start of the ride, followed by a firm response when cornering. This combination, on the one hand, makes it easier to control the motorcycle, and on the other hand, promotes a sporty riding style.
  • The Uni-Trak lower-link rear suspension features a nitrogen-filled shock absorber with an additional reservoir. The rear suspension settings complement those of the front suspension. The result is excellent suspension performance, providing exceptional driving stability. Because the rear shock provides greater ride feel, vertical motion of the motorcycle is easily felt by the rider. This allows riders of all levels to experience the taste of Z-style riding.
  • The excellent motorcycle feel provided by the new suspension is especially noticeable during city riding.

Brake system

  • The redesigned braking system includes three petal brake discs, exactly like those found on our Ninja superbikes. The result is excellent stopping power, as well as reduced unsprung weight and improved heat dissipation.
  • A larger rear disc (250 mm instead of 220 mm) provides improved rear brake control. (The front brake discs still have a diameter of 300 mm).
  • To increase confidence in the effectiveness of the braking system (for example, on wet roads), motorcycles intended for certain sales regions are equipped with an anti-lock braking system.

Improved "bike feel"

The new Z750 delivers superb handling that eliminates any hesitation before attempting a maneuver. This is achieved not only by changing the settings and design of the engine and chassis, but also thanks to a perfectly adjusted driver’s position. When choosing the best riding position for city riding, the motorcycle developers settled on a slightly more upright riding position than previously. The steering wheel has become a little closer to the driver, which provides better handling. The chassis width across the seat is approximately 40mm narrower, which, along with a sleeker overall design, allows the rider to easily reach the ground with both feet. The narrower fuel tank allows drivers to better position their legs. The foot guards have been moved inwards, contributing to the narrower fit. Whether in the city, on twisty roads or on the freeway, the redesigned riding position further contributes to the bike's excellent handling, allowing the rider to concentrate on the road and delivering an unparalleled riding experience.

Motorcycle Kawasaki ZX-R 750 H1 1989 review

The description of the Kawasaki ZX-R 750 H1 1989 motorcycle is in the queue for publication of the article. Announcement: Today, for almost every new motorcycle that comes into being, marketers strive to carve out their own niche. This one is a road sport, this one is a recreational enduro. But what class should we include a motorcycle that has a little bit of everything? A good bike should have a reliable engine, comfortable ergonomics and simple controls...

The Kawasaki ZX-R 750 H1 is a motorcycle not sold in Russia, equipped with a fairly high-power engine of 105.3 hp. Despite the fact that good models of motorcycles have a very respectable price, and the season for their use is relatively short, the motorcycle market is developing rapidly. And if you believe the words of dealers, then some models of recently released motorcycles are selling like hot cakes at the beginning of the season, and the models brought to Russia are clearly not enough to fully satisfy consumer demand.

A motorcycle has long ceased to be an alternative to a car, and the times when this equipment was bought only because there was not enough money for a full-fledged car are forgotten. Nowadays, two-wheelers can be called technological marvels in many cases, and their cost can be compared with that of prestigious cars.

Many people have started buying motorcycles for hobby purposes as riding or even collecting them has become a good pastime for many people. Many motorcycles, for example the Kawasaki ZX-R 750 H1, whose technical characteristics make it possible to call the model a prestigious brand, are in demand among both beginners and experienced motorcyclists.

Currently, it is impossible to purchase a new Kawasaki ZX-R 750 H1 motorcycle from the 1989 model year, since their production stopped 27 years ago. At the same time, the Kawasaki ZX-R 750 H1 has excellent technical characteristics, so many are eager to purchase, if not a new, then at least a used version.

Motorcycles with an engine capacity of 749 cc / 45.7 cu-in. see, appeared as a result of long work of inventors who sought to create a model that was not inferior in characteristics to other versions of the motorcycle. In some cases, these models are not only not inferior, but also ahead of other motorcycles, as they have minimal fuel consumption and other excellent parameters.

Motorcycles with an engine capacity of more than 400 kb. cm, which includes the Kawasaki ZX-R 750 H1 - this category of motorcycles simply cannot claim the title of “motorcycle for a beginner.” On the contrary, this is already a serious technique that requires certain control of motorcycle equipment with a smaller engine capacity. Yes, she attracts more attention, she is the most beautiful, fast, interesting and there is a huge selection of models. But as power increases, the weight of the motorcycle inevitably increases. In this class you are unlikely to find motorcycles lighter than 180 kg, unless they are the latest motorcycle models.

You need to ride it with a sober head (in every sense of the word) and without a sense of fear. Believe me, it gets in the way when you're driving under two hundred. Anyone who thinks that it is better to ride at a maximum of 100-120 km per hour should not buy a sports bike. Less than 3 seconds to 100 km/h, the acceleration is such that the bike is trying to rear up and you feel how difficult it is for your head to keep up with the acceleration of your body. Bottom line, all this is interesting, but I won’t get on a bike again without a protective suit; it’s not worth playing “cat and mouse” with fate once again.

A very good device. For those who have grown from 400k, but do not want to take a heavy, power-hungry liter. It gets up from the gas to the wheel without any problems.

Additional design features

  • The new instrument panel allows the driver to instantly read current information. The analog tachometer is complemented by a liquid crystal display, which displays the speedometer, odometer, distance traveled per day, water temperature sensor, fuel level indicator, clock, etc. Reducing the time it takes to read information from devices allows the motorcyclist to better concentrate on the road.

  • The ignition switch of most models supplied to Europe has an immobilizer function, which helps prevent the theft of the motorcycle.
