YP 250 MAJESTY
- scooter model, Yamaha brand,
The Yamaha Majesty 250 maxiscooter, which is considered the first representative of the glorious family of modern and comfortable Japanese maxiscooters, was born in 1996. This model, whose distinctive features were excellent driving characteristics, practicality and comfort, quickly gained popularity not only in its homeland, but also in Europe. According to experts, this maxiscooter is one of the best representatives of the second generation of powerful scooters.
As we know, the first generation of these machines was not perfect. Their weak point was the front suspension, which, although it provided comfort, contributed to the deterioration of the scooter's handling, especially on bad roads. The developers of the new Yamaha Majesty 250 model tried to eliminate these shortcomings and improve the handling of the machine. Thanks to the use of a telescopic front fork and a brake disc equipped with a four-piston caliper, they were quite able to cope with this task.
Peculiarities
The Yamaha Majesty 250 maxiscooter has acquired excellent handling and retained comfort. The design of this model was complemented by large 12-inch wheels. The excellent wind protection that this maxiscooter features deserves special mention. The excellent aerodynamic characteristics of this model provide the driver with reliable protection from bad weather. Externally, this maxi-scooter, equipped with advanced cladding, resembles touring-class motorcycles.
However, this similarity is not limited to design. The maxiscooter is capable of reaching speeds of over 125 kilometers per hour. The daily mileage that this model can cover exceeds 400 kilometers. Additional convenience is provided by the presence of an underseat container that can accommodate a travel backpack. The saddle of the maxiscooter can be tilted forward if desired, and a pneumatic support holds it in this position.
I decided to post here my mini-review and the history of the acquisition of the Yamaha Majesty 250 4d9 (type 4) maxiscooter due to its rarity in our country and very little information about the experience of using it online
Where to start?) Probably from the beginning) Somehow it happened that the first acquisition was a Chinese GX scooter. I bought it and smiled for a week, probably, then the fuel enricher died and I started going for supposed service repairs and other squabbles with the seller, in the end, without getting the desired result, I got upset and got back the 35,000 wooden buckets spent on buying this bucket. I walked on foot for two weeks, remembering the unreliable, but still convenient in terms of movement, equipment. That is why, without actually looking, I fell for the 150 cc. Chinese Jailing Martin (life apparently hasn’t taught me anything), of course he has no rights, but there’s nowhere to go - on foot there’s nowhere worse... And what did I get in addition to 90 kg of iron and plastic? The rear wheel was always flat, the plastic on the steering wheel was rattling, the mirrors in which you couldn’t see anything, the tidy was toasted by the sun (at least they gave it a new one), but there was no one to show it - it was his own fault, he knew what he was getting into. So I drove it through the 2011 season, covering about 5,000 km. During this seemingly short run, in addition: the footrest burst (they later welded a plate in the service department), the muffler ear burst (it was just hammered in, it held on as is), the front caliper almost broke off (it turned out that some deer, when attaching the caliper, put engravers under the bolts, and it stayed on one turn), the original battery leaked over the edge, the signaling system turned on glitchy while driving, and the carburetor had to be adjusted regularly. As a result, by the end of the season it completely bothered me and I took this something to my parents’ village, where it is still being hunted to this day in the forests and fields of our vast homeland)) The infection is alive, but that’s not the point, of course.
So I ended the season on foot with almost an empty pocket, naturally I swore off looking at the Chinese, but the advantages of scooters ingrained themselves firmly in my soul, because... when you're as tired as a dog, you're not riding a scooter, but it's taking you, sometimes you even want to take a nap on the way)) So, I started scouring the Internet in search of Japanese scooters. There I learned about another type of motorcycle - maxi-scooters, healthy sofas of roads, among which the “Majesties” especially sunk into my soul - 250 and 400 cc devices loaded with tuning at the very least. Forums began, reviews, opinions, photos of the owners. Some time has passed, perhaps I would have given up on this topic altogether because of the hole in my pocket, but... I somehow open the e1 website and see in the new additions a 2007 yamaha majesty 250 with a mileage of 5 thousand and kopecks for 205,000 rubles. Omsk It took me, hard. I spent three days worrying about it, then gave up, called the seller, found out the nuances, documentation, condition, etc. I took out a loan from a bank, ordered a cargo-passenger gazelle, and at 4 am on October 28, 2011, I rushed to Omsk to pick up the “baby.” We arrived at the place at about 23:30 on the 28th, got a little lost (two navigators - both lie and in different ways) but were saved by the Maji seller, who found us and escorted us to the place - guarded garages. And then the first meeting, the garage opens and the seller rolls out a hefty beauty gleaming in black metallic
He started it, drove it (not me, of course, I didn’t risk it myself)), explained what he knew (he brought the maju from Japan at the beginning of the season, he didn’t have time for it, and his wife was afraid of it like hell). The driver, the salesman, and I began to stuff it into the gazelle with the help of a door and a platform we had wisely taken with us, while his wife filled out the bill of sale. Then, while I was covering the maja with padding polyester and pillows from the sofa (I didn’t regret anything) and tying it to the sides, the seller went to his wife’s car to find out how the docks were. Suddenly he comes back, smiles strangely all over, hands over a package with a new case and says “Happy Birthday!” EXACTLY!!! It's my birthday today!!! Here's the story. Someone celebrates their birthday alone, someone with family or friends, and I with my just purchased bike hundreds of kilometers from home))) Before the season, I installed the original alarm system, voltmeter, original heated handles, stuck in an iridium spark plug. There were also disappointments Of course, when installing the alarm, I removed the plastic from the front and there I saw traces of soldering of all the plastic headlight mounts, which clearly indicated that the scooter had been hit in the face at home, but the sealing was of high quality.
Yamaha majesty 250-4 4d91 Features and disadvantages
I will note the pros and cons identified during operation: Of the pros: -A lot of tuning, which is ordered from Japan by parcel to your home, prices are sometimes several times cheaper than original ones from the dealer, for example, a set of tuned headlights with 4 lenses is cheaper than one right or left standard unit with one lens -Assertive acceleration, the manufacturer promises 7.2 seconds. up to a hundred, for a 250k scooter - this is very remarkable - There are low and sport modes, as well as shift (short acceleration, which is convenient when overtaking) - The tires are stock IRC, in the rain it is scary of course (which is of course a minus), but dry The weather is excellent, and besides this, it has shown itself to be excellent on frozen asphalt and also in winter (I drove at minus 15 in December, January and February, at a lower temperature it is slowly sipping away) Now about 16,000 miles, the rear cylinder will still live, the front one looks like it has hardly been driven. These tires are also available in Japan - Comfortable fit and handling - Cross-country ability (I climbed into a rain-smeared hill with a slope of 40 degrees on clay and a length of 10-15 meters - again the reduced one saves me, I just supported the maja with my legs out - it scraped itself out - Quality of plastic and other than that, I flew away twice overestimating my pilot capabilities (the situations were stupid in general), I had fractures and holes to the bones, only scratches on the scooter, and not even a single light bulb died - Fuel consumed, the 92nd and 95th and 98th are cracking, the difference is felt in the dynamics, and then just a little - I love the sound when resetting to idle (such a rumbling squelch) and when turning off the sport mode - the sound is like from a small turbine)) - Unpretentiousness to rain and water as such, when you poured soap in buckets - on the side everything is for her (unlike the Chinese that I had, from the slightest rain the seats oozed water all day long) -Immobilizer and lack of ignition switch, only a chip and buttons, the hijackers have nothing to break or mess with, even if they drag you away for a free ride it will definitely break off -Capacity, three glove compartments in front for everything, and under the saddle for two integrals and various little things, I went fishing once - the fishing rods and fish tank were in the glove compartment under the seat
Of the minuses: -The maximum speed is 140 km/h, but it’s worth noting that its maximum speed just corresponds to it, when accelerating to 135 you stop feeling the asphalt, and above 140 it generally seems like you’re flying, only low and not very fast, but sometimes you want to rush, but this is common to everyone -Spare parts from megazip and a couple of other sites, you can get anything down to bolts and rubber bands, but the prices are CROOK -No voltmeter, I decided to install the wills -No standard alarm system, or rather, it is there, but as an option, and is ordered separately, which is what I actually I did it by spending about 6500 (but it’s worth it, the signaling is subordinated to the brain of the scooter, there are no problems with connection (there are three connectors in total and there are guaranteed to be no glitches while driving, as it infuriated me in the Chinese, although the siren is not particularly loud, but at the same time the sound You can’t confuse it with anything else - a melodic trill) -Weak wind protection with standard glass, but there are touring glasses for a good price -If you stretch your legs forward (and that’s how I drive, it’s very comfortable) it blows under your trouser legs, you can of course ride in pose of a stool or put on additional shin guards (but they provide little protection and you can’t stretch your legs all the way), the problem should be solved by purchasing off-road boots with high shins - Well, it blows into the sleeves, you can put shin guards, they themselves are nice (two types and from org glass) but I personally didn’t like the final look, so gloves with a long wrist are better
But in fact, all the disadvantages that I’m complaining about are just whining, there are no ideal bikes and there never will be)), but for itself and its class, the Maja is a wonderful device
Sorry for the lack of photos, the entire photo album with the scooter was on the phone and was stupidly lost when the firmware was mocked. In the summer I’m planning to do something like a video test drive, where I’ll try to convey the experience that I got myself
Yamaha Majesty 250-4. 4D9,
At one time I reviewed most of the maxiscooters, read reviews and manuals, and rode something. And I realized that Tmax rules, the current 1/2 body is not very good for me, but 3 is expensive, there was no money left... Then I accidentally came across an interesting Max, which had a program-controlled CVT and keyless entry (Yamaha and others call it Smart key) . It seemed like it was supposed to come out at 400cc, but apparently something didn’t work out and it came out at 250cc. Partly because of this and the fact that it costs in Japan as 400cc, this is a model purely for Japan.
One friend asked what's the point of swapping a Sym GTS 265cc for a Majesty 250cc?
1. The electronic variator is ready, at “lower” it calmly moves off in the snow, mud, and sand without playing with the gas.
2. The pit is normally laid out, the gas stop does not interfere with the pit, two closed helmets, instead of the second helmet you can stuff a tent with an air mattress. Both seats still open. which is convenient when cramming something that can’t be shoved in)))
3. Handbrake Yes. On the sim it was annoying that if you put it on a hill or rest the wheel/stand against something, or on the center, which is inconvenient, especially with my leg.
4. Normal light, low beam two lenses and high beam separately two lamps
5. Rigid motor suspension (of course, relative to others with a pendulum motor), normal mono-shock absorber
6. As expected, there is an oil filter. What some manufacturers of this cubic capacity neglect (the engineers apparently have glasses of different shades of pink) There is a balancing shaft (although without it, due to the rigid suspension, there would be a rattle)
7. Smart key. It’s harder to lose a key fob in your pocket, and if you start it and drive away, but forget the key, the light on the panel will remind you. And you won’t forget the key in the lock, which I have done more than once)))
There are no problems with opening the pit when the engine is running; on most scooters you need to turn off the engine (of course this is not a problem to fix).
And in general, where is Yamaha, and where is Sim... The Japanese have put together a scooter much better, almost all the volumes under the plastic are used. There is no battery in the glove compartment)) There are, of course, a few small factory flaws, but I’m nitpicking))
Everything is good in the maped except the volume. If I had the money I would take the 3rd Tmax.
Oh, if there was a T-max with an electronic variator, it would finally be Agon, having driven it after the Tmax, they didn’t think that the 250 could run at all and decided that the Tmax needed such a variator))) But they have not yet received either a third pot or an electronic variator from Yamaha. They installed a smart key for the 15th model year...
Motorcycle Yamaha YP 250 Majesty 2001 review
The description of the Yamaha YP 250 Majesty 2001 motorcycle is in the queue for publication of the article. Announcement: Today, for almost every new motorcycle that comes into being, marketers strive to carve out their own niche. This one is a road sport, this one is a recreational enduro. But what class should we include a motorcycle that has a little bit of everything? A good bike should have a reliable engine, comfortable ergonomics and simple controls...
Yamaha YP 250 Majesty is a rare motorcycle in Russia equipped with a low-power 20 hp engine. Despite the fact that good models of motorcycles have a very respectable price, and the season for their use is relatively short, the motorcycle market is developing rapidly. And if you believe the words of dealers, then some models of recently released motorcycles are selling like hot cakes at the beginning of the season, and the models brought to Russia are clearly not enough to fully satisfy consumer demand.
A motorcycle has long ceased to be an alternative to a car, and the times when this equipment was bought only because there was not enough money for a full-fledged car are forgotten. Nowadays, two-wheelers can be called technological marvels in many cases, and their cost can be compared with that of prestigious cars.
Many people have started buying motorcycles for hobby purposes as riding or even collecting them has become a good pastime for many people. Many motorcycles, for example the Yamaha YP 250 Majesty, whose technical characteristics make it possible to call the model a prestigious brand, are in demand among both beginners and experienced motorcyclists.
Currently, it is impossible to purchase a new Yamaha YP 250 Majesty motorcycle from the 2001 model year, since their production stopped 15 years ago. At the same time, the Yamaha YP 250 Majesty has excellent technical characteristics, so many people strive to purchase, if not a new, then at least a used version.
Motorcycles with an engine capacity of 249 cc / 15.2 cu-in. see, appeared as a result of long work of inventors who sought to create a model that was not inferior in characteristics to other versions of the motorcycle. In some cases, these models are not only not inferior, but also ahead of other motorcycles, as they have minimal fuel consumption and other excellent parameters.
Yamaha YP 250 Majesty belongs to a common class of motorcycles with an engine capacity of 125 to 250 kb. cmAs a rule, these are light and relatively low-power motorcycles. Here you will get flexible control, easy steering and low weight of the motorcycle. Therefore, such motorcycles are suitable for almost every beginner, regardless of their characteristics. The exception is motorcycles with two-stroke engines of the “sport” and “cross” classes, since bikes of this class are distinguished by more power and an extremely sharp response to the throttle, which also does not make them obedient to control.
Go to the entire range of Yamaha motorcycles, on this page you can find Yamaha YP 250 Majesty motorcycles from other years of production and information about them
