More and more women ride or plan to ride motorcycles. Among many models, you can choose, however, those on which ladies will feel much better.
motorcycles for women
What should characterize a motorcycle that a woman wants to ride? Everyone thinks he must be good. This is true, but beauty is not the most important thing. Ladies put convenience first. They tend to be shorter, lighter and weaker (though this also varies) than men, so saddle height, bike weight and ergonomics matter. You should be comfortable reaching with your feet on the ground or walking your motorcycle out of the garage. What is important is comfort in the saddle, distance to the steering wheel, control of the handles and levers, and finally the maneuverability of the machine and ease of maneuvering.
There are no motorcycles specifically designed for women, but there are many that will give women the pleasure of riding.
Honda MSX 125 / 125 Monkey
Honda MSX 125 / 125 Monkey
We have already written about this motorcycle several times, and each time it was tested by a female representative. Not surprising, because this is a motorcycle designed for women, and its big advantage is its low weight and size. This is one of those motorcycles that you won't have to fight with, and you can fully concentrate on driving or learning the movement. There is only one drawback: very quickly it will turn out that your boyfriend will start stealing it, and over time it will turn out that he rides it more often than his big and heavy motorcycle. In our opinion, the Honda MSX and Honda Monkey 125 are the coolest city bikes in the world.
Suzuki VanVan 125
Suzuki VanVan 125
One of our editors says his wife threatens to eventually learn to ride a motorcycle. Unfortunately, that's where it all ends. It's a pity, because Timur has already done this a long time ago - he has mastered two wheels, and in his garage there is a VanVan 125, which his wife can easily steal. However, this would not be a patriarchally imposed choice, because she also liked the motorcycle. Why? Because it’s a really cool mot. Not specifically high-speed or dynamic. It has fat tires, but they create an atmosphere that makes you feel like you're in Miami Beach in the 80s as you cruise down the boulevards of Moscow. That doesn't mean propulsion is the only thing Suzuki does well. A full range of advantages, such as ease of driving, agility, a long-lasting engine or low fuel combustion, can of course be attributed to the characteristics of the VanVan. It's also low-cut, which is likely to appeal to many women.
Yamaha Virago 535
Yamaha Virago 535
This is a biker legend. Good equipment for beginners and, above all, for the fair sex. It is light, its power is not deafening, and the height of the sofa allows it to be in reliable contact with the ground. In addition, there are indeed many models on auction portals. For every taste and color. When searching for your dream, there are a few details to pay attention to, but without the fuss. The amount of “junk” on the market is baffling, and restoring a motorcycle to good condition should not leave you out of your bags - with common sense of course!
Hyosung RT 125 Karion
Hyosung RT 125 Karion
Hyosung Karion was our Marina's first motorcycle. There is nothing to hide that the recently introduced regulation on the possibility of driving vehicles with a volume of 125 cc. cm for category B driving license holders was like a bolt out of the blue for her. Until now, Marina's only motorcycle experience was off-road driving and her beloved Yamaha YZ125 Hyosung, on the other hand, turned out to be an excellent companion for city riding. Its main advantages certainly include its affordable price, low fuel consumption (around 2-3 l/100 km) and a pleasant ride. It may not impress with torque or power (although 13.6 hp is still a pretty good result), but it has everything you need for a smooth ride around town. Without major problems, it will accelerate to 110 km/h, and the “air” tires will overcome most of the bumps. The seat is also very comfortable.
According to Marina, this bike is a very good option for people who would like to try their hand at driving bikes, but have no experience. The motorcycle is light (135kg), quite maneuverable and certainly forgiving of many mistakes.
“In fact, after a while the rider feels the lack of power and already dreams of a better motorcycle, which does not change the fact that the Karion remains one of my favorite motorcycles for city riding. Oh, I forgot - this Hyosung is quite an excellent basis for all tunings, which, however, I would like to get acquainted with someday. I hope it doesn't break." – adds Marina.
Dimensions and weight
The weight and dimensions of the model correspond to the light class of motorcycles.
The curb weight of the bike is only 120 kg . If you take into account the 14 liter , the dry weight will be less than 100 kg .
Dimensions depend on the edition. The latest builds (2019) have:
- in length - 2,091 mm ;
- width - 751 mm ;
- in height - 1,131 mm ;
Seat height - 720 mm .
Wheelbase - 1,301 mm .
For whom is it intended?
Modest weight, small dimensions and good stability - all this makes the bike an excellent means of getting around the city, even for two people, but for short distances.
Despite the rather low saddle, the overall height of the bike means that any user can try it on. Considering that ZiD appears more often in showrooms in neighboring republics than in the Russian Federation, this clause is more than welcome.
Representatives of the plant call this model universal - for any height and weight.
Honda CRF 450L
2022 Honda CRF450L
This is already a serious off-road motorcycle, but, as is the case with SUVs, its low weight is an absolute asset. True, it is tall and, probably, only fairly tall ladies will feel comfortable wearing it. But, of course, it is ideal for both long trips and quiet driving around the city, and, of course, off-road. Of course, its advantage is its resistance to any knockovers and scratches. The engine, with reasonable power, seems durable, so all indications are that the CRF 450L could be an interesting choice.
Specifications
By agreement between the enterprises, Russian engineers do not touch the motor. Thanks to this, you can use original Lifan spare parts for repairs/maintenance.
The model is equipped with an air-cooled carburetor engine.
This 1-cylinder , 4-stroke engine produces:
- working volume - 149 cm3;
- power - 11 hp;
- number of valves - 4;
- cooling - air;
- fuel supply - carburetor;
- ignition - transistor;
- start - electric starter (there is a kick starter);
- tank volume - 14 l.
Unpretentiousness to fuel is noted . Recommended gasoline is not lower than AI-92 .
Transmission and clutch
The bike is equipped with a 5-speed gearbox. According to user reviews, it does not cause problems, it works smoothly.
The traction force from the gearbox is transmitted to the rear wheel via a chain drive.
All gears are located immediately, there are no problems with neutral. The numbers are chosen in such a way that frequent switching is not required, but if you want to quickly pick up speed, the dynamics are very good .
- Multi-plate clutch , oil bath, power transmission - cable .
- The main drive is also standard - chain .
Brakes
The only major difference between the ZiD and the Lifan was the braking system. It was almost completely copied from the YBR125 (Yamaxa, Japan).
Front brake with hydraulic drive.
Rear brake with mechanical drive.
Everything matches - 2 discs on the front axle , diameter and support, as well as the rear drum . But despite the bike’s great power, there are no complaints about the brakes. They work well, they work accurately.
Just like on Yobrik - no options.
Honda CRF 250L / 250L Rally
Honda CRF 250L / 250L Rally
While the CRF 450 may actually be too big or too powerful for beginner riders, the Honda CRF 250 in both versions is the perfect solution. The motorcycle is quite tall. You have to plant your foot firmly to sit on it, but once you're seated the moto sits solidly and contact with the ground feels good at a moderate increase. CRF 250L is a “good donkey”. He will take you wherever you want and do everything right. For long distances it is better to choose the Rally version - it has much better wind protection. Plus it looks very professional!
BMW F/G 650GS
BMW F/G 650GS
Everything about this bike is subject to one principle: high quality, but inexpensive. Also, driving the little GS will bring many pleasant surprises. You won't spend too much money on fuel. With a quiet ride, gasoline consumption will be no more than 3.8 l/100 km. Of course, the G 650GS can pass for a universal machine, however, on one condition: you don’t ask too much of it. Especially when racing on the track. The motorcycle is single-cylinder, engine capacity 650 cc. cm, with a limited appetite for fuel, it won’t go anywhere from under your “ass”. Lightweight (weighs 192 kg with a full tank) and maneuverable motorcycle copes well with traffic jams. This can be a very rewarding machine for all those who are just starting their motorcycle touring adventure. In addition, on the market, without any problems, we will find kits for lowering the suspension or seat. It will be convenient and safe!
The standard seat height is 780mm, and if you're not going to be riding this bike off-road, you can even lower the suspension. Beginner motorcyclists can buy a version with power limited to 34 hp. (driving license A2).
Yamaha MT-07
Yamaha MT-07
This is probably the most powerful motorcycle of its type. A typical naked bike with a great engine, a reasonable price, and on top of that, it's a bike that's very forgiving and a ton of fun to ride. If you want more excitement from a motorcycle, you won't be disappointed. This Yamaha doesn't have many weak points. True, Ph.D. dissertations have already been written about the suspension of this motorcycle, but it is still a good motorcycle - for everyone! And besides, this stunning view. “Seven” looks crazy, and it’s hard to find a person on the street who won’t turn around at it.
Scooter 80cc
How to buy an 80cc scooter at a good price is a question that more and more residents of modern megacities are interested in. This type of transport appeared in the middle of the last century and was a cheap but practical means of transportation. Today, the scooter has become a highly technical machine, with numerous innovations and multifunctionality. It retained its primary function of delivering a passenger or small cargo at minimal cost, but turned into a very expensive toy for a certain category of people, especially young people.
Before you figure out how much an 80cc scooter costs, you should find out the country of origin and the name of the manufacturer. The range of these two-wheeled vehicles, ideal for moving in the congested traffic flows of modern cities, is increasing every year. The number of scooters is growing in proportion to the size and number of traffic jams on transport arteries around the world.
In Russia, the scooter has displaced mopeds, which were so popular during the USSR period, from the market and is widely used both as a means of transportation and for the delivery of goods, as well as for the rapid provision of various types of services to clients by commercial or government agencies. Selecting personnel for such work is not a difficult matter, and the question of whether a license is needed for an 80cc scooter has been irrelevant since 2013. It is enough to have a special, M category license. Although, if you have documents of a higher category, there is no need for them.
Despite the practicality of scooters, the issue of choosing models takes on particular relevance in the context of difficult economic realities. Having heard flattering reviews about Chinese 80cc scooters, many prefer them to more expensive foreign counterparts. New scooters produced in China not only compare favorably with competitors in price, but are also unpretentious in operation. This can explain the sharp increase in their popularity both among young people and small entrepreneurs throughout Russia.
Yamaha XJ6/XJ 600
Yamaha XJ6/XJ 600
The Yamaha XJ6 has always been the ideal motorcycle for women - in principle, it does not matter what year of manufacture we are talking about. This is evidenced, first of all, by the analysis of sales of the XJ6: it is mainly women who buy it, and, by the way, thinking about them, Yamaha introduced a version with a low seat in 2013. Yamaha delivers power in a calm and tangible way. As a result, it's ideal for beginner bikers and people who don't want to leave the handlebars when they step on the gas. This is first and foremost a serious and uncomplicated motorcycle that gives you a lot of possibilities, but on the other hand it is extremely predictable, and this can be a huge advantage for you. In addition, it also comes in a Diversion version, that is, with a windshield that makes it more of a touring motorcycle - with the same qualities that we mentioned in the context of its use by the fair sex!
Yamaha R1
Beautiful, strong and extremely sporty – the first generation of the Yamaha R1 has become an integral part of automotive history. Even people who are not interested in motorcycles know this model. It was stunningly beautiful when it debuted, and even today, many years later, anyone who sees these motorcycles knows that they are dealing with a sports car.
150 hp - exactly so many liters. With. pushes the Yamaha forward. There is little turnover at the bottom, nothing at all. There is a clear lack of strength.
While there are indeed a lot of advertisements for used R1s, finding a neat motorcycle is really difficult. .
Kawasaki Ninja 250R/300R
Kawasaki Ninja 250R/300R
From a distance it looks like a racing car. This impression does not disappear as we approach the motorcycle. It's only when we start to carefully analyze the details of the Ninja 250R's anatomy that we realize we're dealing with a small motorcycle. Luckily, this isn't a small bike that's trying to pretend to be something it's not. This bike is for beginners and for those who don't care about incredible performance.
When driving on flat terrain, the Kawasaki Ninja 250's combustion should hover around 2.5L/100km. When driving aggressively, consumption should not exceed 4 l/100 km. The city's focus is on good amenities. The 250R has a tight turning radius. This, combined with the light weight and low seat height, makes every novice rider quickly warm to this motorcycle. Plus, if you're looking for an efficient, fuel-efficient bike for city riding, you won't be disappointed. Over time, Kawasaki increased the capacity to 300cc. cm, due to which the maximum power increased slightly. It was definitely a successful operation because the 250 alone could be quite nice to drive (also on the road). We also know of cases where the Ninja 250R turned the heads of many advanced bikers, and one of them, after not very long time, “landed” on this bike on the track! Fun guaranteed!
Kawasaki ZX9R
All Kawasaki fans will probably think of the ZX9R. We've been interested in the model since 2000 because that's when the new look of the model was introduced, which even today looks pretty good. The engine produces 143 hp, which is enough for a weight of 185 kg to propel it to 270 km/h.
Of course, the Kawasaki offers pretty good comfort for a sportsbike - not just the thought of passengers, but also the presence of handles. However, let's not confuse it with a quiet motorcycle. This is a very aggressive bike, and it shows it every time the rev counter goes over 7,000 rpm. Kawasaki justifies the price and good workmanship.
Suzuki V-Strom 250
Suzuki V-Strom 250 2018
We can't forget about this motorcycle! True, there are few motorcycles of this type on our roads, but the sweet “Minion” is a truly universal motorcycle. The two-cylinder engine delivers good performance, combustion is within normal limits for this capacity, and the machine is quite playful on the road! Plus, it's comfortable—seriously! Covering five hundred kilometers in one day should not cause insanity or three-letter problems. You can easily handle it even if you are not a racer!

Suzuki GSX-R 1000 K1
The most powerful motorcycle on our list today, the GSX-R 1000 debuted in 2001, and its engine had 160 hp.
The drive is considered reliable and durable if it is properly maintained. The engine was the king of straight lines - it had great acceleration and the highest v-max, which hovered in the range of 290 km/h. The elegant styling is a classic Suzuki of those years, we know the same with the 750 and 600 cc models. Fully adjustable suspension, 6-piston calipers and a sporty driving position are just right for the GSX-R.
