Motorcycle KTM 1290 Super Adventure 2015 review

Motorcycle KTM 1290 Super Adventure 2015 review

Description of the KTM 1290 Super Adventure 2015 motorcycle is in the queue for publication of the article. Announcement: Today, for almost every new motorcycle that comes into being, marketers strive to carve out their own niche. This one is a road sport, this one is a recreational enduro. But what class should we include a motorcycle that has a little bit of everything? A good bike should have a reliable engine, comfortable ergonomics and simple controls...

The KTM 1290 Super Adventure is a motorcycle that is rarely sold in Russia and is equipped with a very powerful 160hp engine. Despite the fact that good models of motorcycles have a very respectable price, and the season for their use is relatively short, the motorcycle market is developing rapidly. And if you believe the words of dealers, then some models of recently released motorcycles are selling like hot cakes at the beginning of the season, and the models brought to Russia are clearly not enough to fully satisfy consumer demand.

A motorcycle has long ceased to be an alternative to a car, and the times when this equipment was bought only because there was not enough money for a full-fledged car are forgotten. Nowadays, two-wheelers can be called technological marvels in many cases, and their cost can be compared with that of prestigious cars.

Many people have started buying motorcycles for hobby purposes as riding or even collecting them has become a good pastime for many people. Many motorcycles, for example the KTM 1290 Super Adventure, whose technical characteristics make it possible to call the model a prestigious brand, are in demand among both beginners and experienced motorcyclists.

Motorcycles with an engine capacity of 1301 cc / 79.3 cu-in. see, appeared as a result of long work of inventors who sought to create a model that was not inferior in characteristics to other versions of the motorcycle. In some cases, these models are not only not inferior, but also ahead of other motorcycles, as they have minimal fuel consumption and other excellent parameters.

Motorcycles with an engine capacity of more than 400 kb. cm, which includes the KTM 1290 Super Adventure - this category of motorcycles simply cannot claim the title of “motorcycle for a beginner.” On the contrary, this is already a serious technique that requires certain control of motorcycle equipment with a smaller engine capacity. Yes, she attracts more attention, she is the most beautiful, fast, interesting and there is a huge selection of models. But as power increases, the weight of the motorcycle inevitably increases. In this class you are unlikely to find motorcycles lighter than 180 kg, unless they are the latest motorcycle models.

KTM

KTM fired a missile at the R1200GS. The collateral damage is significant, particularly the Ducati Multistrada Enduro.

Early reports point to the first landing site in Peru, indicating that the Super Advercher has off-road intelligence. Whenever life moves forward, enduros are breaking sales records in 2016, conquering new territories is expected, but... not the same... KTM fired a rocket at the R1200GS. The collateral damage is significant, particularly the Ducati Multistrada Enduro. The sticker says 1290 Super Adventure R. As you can see, it is driven by the fabulous B-shaped twin LC-8. Rumor has it that in 2002 this engine won the Dakar, and was also tested in the RC-8, a racing sportbike. Well, somehow it turns out that way, because at KTM all roads lead to LC-8, it just turns out different every time. This time, like the Super Duke, the piston diameter and stroke form 1301 cc, and it also produces 140 Newtons of torque and 160 horsepower. There is nothing more powerful on Earth today with a 21 front wheel. Mother of Hercules, he’s a beaten *****! People, anyone. He doesn't just level the ground for KTM, he devours it! Leave him, please! 160 horses don't row the ground. They rotate the Earth. Let's take a step back and figure out what we see in front of us. At first glance, you can tell that the frame and engine were carried over from the old 1290, now renamed Super Adventure Touring. But the tank and wheel sizes start from 1190R, and it’s a pure tourenduro. The headlight is absolutely out of this world. LEDs are so powerful that they have their own heatsink. To cool the bulbs, the headlight is divided into two by a heat sink. Spoked and tubeless wheels, they were strengthened because the front wheel from the old 1190 curled up just by looking at a bump. I can already see how owners of 1190s buy these and install them for themselves. The most obvious upgrade is the huge smartphone on the dashboard. This is a 6 and a half inch gorilla glass, it will not be scratched even if the motorcycle tastes a little of Mother Earth. And no matter what the corrupt journalists talk, it shines as it should. And it’s quite possible to hit a shiny new iPad with a stone, if you just drop the motorcycle at the right angle. Is it just me or is the motorcycle alive? He understands when the key is within a radius of one and a half meters and prepares for the race, or take it to his chest. He monitors the tire pressure himself and maintains racing speed. 1290 even knows how to climb a mountain by himself, but only if you give him a gift. And if you buy the travel electronics package for 600 bucks, you also get phone connectivity, which... Hi Ryan. You people are weak creatures. Let's start with the asphalt road, at least you'll stop screaming like a little one. The 1290's power curve is remarkably flat. It pulls well, predictably lifts the front end at 5 thousand rpm, and continues to pull right up to peak power at 9 thousand. Before the cutoff at 10 thousand it calms down a little, so if you don’t deliberately try, you won’t hit the cutoff. The only shortcoming is the wooden saddle. It's comfortable to move weight back and forth on dirt, but with one hundred and sixty horses in sport mode, you feel like you're getting away with it. The quickshifter comes with extras. electronics package, you can click up and forget about the clutch. And it’s good that it’s double-sided, because stomping the pedal down is more pleasant than putting pressure on those Brembos. But why? Because their grip is quite weak. And the feedback is not exactly encyclopedic. But the handling is insanely sharp. I have never steered so well on asphalt on a 21-inch front wheel. Thanks to stiffer springs, the bite is weaker than the 1190, and thanks to Bosch's corner ABS, you can pull the brake lever mid-turn without losing grip at the front and without straightening the motorcycle. To be honest, I’m worried about forgetting how to brake. What does it have to do with both pressing the front and distributing the force between the front and rear. But people are so weak, and... Yes, yes. Just like buses and tanks, the KTM 1290 is narrower than the Big Goose. Logic dictates that the Goose is lighter on the shifts, and I think it is, but from here the Super Adventure feels more sporty because it is smaller. Although not as peppy as the old 1190. Frankly, the character is too calm on asphalt. More than enough power, but it's all potatoes without sauce. Well, actually... Shut up. You know it's true. But don’t be discouraged; the smooth development of power is perfect for a tourist. And don't forget about the 12-volt socket and a waterproof glove compartment with a phone charger. These are huge benefits when traveling. And look how much space there is, all thanks to the 89-centimeter seat. Aluminum steering wheel, footrests, shift pedal, instrument panel and windshield, everything is adjustable. Although the latter moves a measly 5 centimeters. This supposedly prevents the helmet from hitting the glass, and in fact, you don’t, but I still lower the window because it makes my head wobble less and the air flows better. The fairing also directs more wind into the chest than the old 1290. And KTM also put thermal insulation under the seat, so because of the manifold, we get a medium-cooked ass, and not full, like the 1290 liked. And even though the engine is hot as in hell, it's not that hot outside. In short, this 1290 is objectively fresher than previous versions. At least in the summer. Another luxury is the cornering light; it shines into the corner when the motorcycle is tilted. Not as timely as you'd expect, you start to turn and notice the lights come on a second late. But damn. It shines brighter than the sun. Its only drawback as a tourer is the electronic throttle return spring. It is too hard, so the brush gets tired over time. Yes, and also a 23-liter tank, which would have been 2 times weaker for the motorcycle. The three and a half liter reserve light came on after an annoying 230 kilometers. Okay, stop saying this! Cyclobots, let's transform! You haven't changed. Ah-ah-ah, exactly. Now he is completely different. With a limit of 100 horses, it is much easier to handle. Off-road mode also dulls the response to the handle, so I no longer dig out the Grand Canyon with a flick of my hand. Traction control is controlled by artificial intelligence. You can relax the loaves on a straight line, but it interferes with the engine response in a corner. You have to twist the handle hard to pull the motorcycle into a skid when your hand is full, this is very unusual. But don’t try to outwit the computer, if you decide to control the throttle yourself, the traction will go crazy and you’ll fly out of the turn into a ditch. But the off-road ABS is wonderful. The front and back are separated. The first is controlled, and the second can be blocked. The electronic slipper clutch also smacks of numbers. The rear wheel speed is read to detect blockage and open the throttle slightly. What a terrible accuracy. You can lower on a slippery surface and nothing will happen, which is cool and at the same time annoying when you want to skid the rear. Riding fast off-road on a 1290 is not about trusting what you can do, it's about trusting that the computer can adapt the bike to off-road. An unusual way to ride a motorcycle. Honestly, the 1290 feels like exactly what it is. A big expensive motorcycle that was beaten and tortured to achieve obedience on the off-road. It's unnatural and a little sad. Like a lion in a cage. You know what, don't care. On the KTM you can turn everything off on the go. You get 160 horses, without a leash, off-road. Let's take it down one more time. After driving it a little you realize that the chassis is excellent. So balanced and slender between the legs that everything works out for you. It turns out to ride 160 horses off-road! Holy shit, he’s just a hurricane, the spendthrift blows up like he’s on Viagra. By the time the front end touches the ground again, I’m already going 160, but it wouldn’t be worth it here. At least I don’t screw it up, 240 kg is not a problem until I screw it up. Didn't choose the wrong track, didn't get stuck in the mud. After all, God forbid lifting it, 240 is another task if you have to drag them. But when the bike rides on its own, it is light. When the springs are stiff, the suspension travel moves upward, like on a cross bike. And the two-hundred and twenty-millimeter progressive two-piston shock absorber has a stiffer compression at the end of the stroke, so it doesn’t break through. Don't look out for cobblestones, trust the 25 centimeters of ground clearance and try to forget that KTM forgot to install crankcase protection. Operate the clutch, little by little. This is the very drop that overflows the cup. Finally, slippery goo. No clutch at all. KTM made the crankshaft heavier, so the motorcycle pulls almost from idle, slowly rowing at one thousand five hundred revolutions. Calm down, you have the grip and you’re leaving. The 1290 design is among the top three motorcycles in the world. Electronic intelligence is superior only to its brother, the S version, which landed in Europe with a semi-active suspension. The reason for my sadness is me. I was skilled enough to think of the electronic aids as collars, but not skilled enough to get the most out of the bike without them. These people of yours are so weak, but I will call for reinforcements. The Junior Warrior is $4,000 cheaper, 35 horsepower weaker, and has a smaller computer. Enemy of Africa Twin has completed the landing.
