Maxi-scooter YAMAHA YP250 X-MAX. Full length portrait

Yamaha X MAX 2019 scooter

Following the successful sales of the X MAX scooter in the European market, Yamaha is expanding its presence in other global markets.

It’s even surprising that it took several years, because the class of 300 cc maxi-scooters is now in demand literally everywhere. The 27.6-horsepower engine accelerates the scooter to any permitted speed, even on highways, and this is another guarantee of the model’s relevance and relevance. In addition to this, the stylish and modern design of the Yamaha X MAX literally announces it as the ideal urban everyday maxi scooter, and not just for the youth.

Yamaha X MAX Design

Slanted headlights and an overall “transformer” look form the first impression of a modern and fast scooter, while remaining within the strict design framework. The front plastic together with the windshield protect the rider from wind and rain, diverting the oncoming flow over the head and to the sides. The windshield is adjustable, allowing you to add 5cm of height to increase the air pocket.

Below, the front plastic protects the rider’s legs, which is why business attire is so popular on scooters: even in very bad weather, the rider remains dry and clean. A high tunnel divides the floor of the scooter in half, making two types of landing possible: a typical scooter and a chopper-style landing.

At stops it is convenient to put both legs out thanks to the fairly narrow front part of the seat. The seat height is 79.5 cm, which makes the Yamaha X MAX comfortable even for shorter riders, especially considering that the adjustable handlebar can be moved 2 cm closer to the seat.

The spacious seat case holds up to two full-size helmets. Thanks to LED lighting, loading and unloading becomes convenient even in the dark. In addition to the underseat luggage compartment, the Yamaha X MAX has two small glove compartments in the front plastic, one of which has a 12-volt outlet and an electronic lock to protect your belongings. The stylish rear end features flush-mounted taillights, as well as a plastic mudguard that houses the turn signals on the stems and mounts the license plate.

The flat passenger portion of the seat is more like a small platform for carrying cargo that can be attached to the passenger handles. The absence of any kind of back support or steps to prevent the passenger from slipping clearly characterizes the Yamaha X MAX as able, but not loving, to ride with two riders. Rather, this is not a family, but an individual city transport, on which you can go to work, and for shopping, and, if necessary, give a nice colleague a ride home.

Peculiarities

The XMAX project was created based on a software SDK that relies on the use of the JavaScript language. Its blockchain ecosystem is designed to be an ideal development, enhancement, and support tool for a diverse range of decentralized applications. The company strives to pave a fundamentally new path to blockchain, which was previously unavailable in other projects.

Based on the project, a special programming language, WebX.js (based on JavaScript), was created and is functioning. The main advantage of using it is that DApps developers will not need to know or learn individual programming languages. With the WMAX project, blockchain development will become more accessible than ever. As the representatives themselves say.

Considering which main areas are most popular in the field of creating decentralized applications, the project is already ready to offer hundreds of templates for projects in the field of video, music, web projects, messaging programs and even specific blockchain-based games.

The creators note the special potential of developing games based on decentralized technology. Games that will be protected from piracy (for the benefit of developers) and also have a flexible digital property system (for the benefit of players).

Yamaha X MAX chassis

Yamaha engineers took the utmost care in developing the X MAX, creating not a scooter, but a full-size (albeit small) motorcycle with a tubular steel frame to match. The 15-inch front and 14-inch rear wheels are compatible with a wide range of motorcycle tires on the market, and although they are smaller in size than the 16-inch wheels of the largest maxi-scooters, the ease of tire selection fully compensates for this, and the wheels are large enough for excellent handling of the device . Another feature inherent in motorcycles is the double crossbar, which makes the front suspension more durable and resistant to torsion. The suspension itself is quite simple, the 33mm front fork has no adjustments, and the rear shock absorbers with external springs allow you to adjust only their preload.

What does the company/project do?

Unfortunately, at the moment, most cryptocurrencies and blockchain projects are associated, if not with difficulties for super-advanced geek programmers, then with tools that are mostly used by Internet attackers.
XMAX is a project that is one of those aimed at finding a solution to such an unpleasant pattern, as well as creating new solutions based on blockchain technology. XMAX is a development that makes interaction and development of new blockchain-based solutions as simple as possible and accessible to almost everyone. In addition, the project has its own token, which is used to implement the set goals and mechanisms of the project, allows interested investors to earn good money, and is also used as the main tool for investing in development.

Brake system

The curb weight of the Yamaha X MAX scooter is only 180 kg, but the company did not skimp on safety. The front wheel is equipped with a two-piston floating caliper on a 267 disc, and the rear brake system consists of a single-piston caliper on a 245 disc. Stock ABS provides safety and maximum braking performance.

Helix Xmax 12

The Germans gave an eloquent name to the series: Xmax, although they are not the first. If anyone is forgetful or, conversely, too young, we remind you: this means the maximum displacement of the diffuser. At least the 27mm suspension here is wider than that of any classmate from the first half of the test. I would characterize the Helix subwoofer basket as medium-voiced. The diffuser material was textured polypropylene of another shade of yellow (pleasant, however, to the eye). On the outer rim there is a medium-height foam rubber sealing rim, so the head can be mounted in different ways. The magnet is placed under a non-removable plastic casing, but in this case its dimensions can be indicated without too much fear of making a mistake: 140 x 20 mm. The diameter of the axial hole is 16 mm. To connect the acoustic cable, contacts for spade-type terminals are used. The wires from them to the voice coil go according to the first method and also with double stitching into the polypropylene cone.

Of the holy trinity of Thiel-Small parameters, we were able to inquire about only one, and that was not in the documentation that came with the speaker, but indirectly from the Internet. And, by the way, it turned out to be not quite similar to what was determined during the measurements; if a fresh, albeit forcibly stretched, speaker has a resonance frequency that is 15% less than the declared one, it means that we are not talking about a banal scatter. Well, God bless her, with her application. According to the measured parameters, Helix will work well in a volume that is quite small for this caliber, 25 - 26 liters. It doesn’t make much sense to significantly increase the volume of the spacer, it will mainly affect the output at ultra-low frequencies, little will change in the depth of informative bass, and less beer will fit in the trunk. The bass reflex, with the help of which you can most fully reveal the potential of the speaker, is by no means miniature, 80 liters with a setting of 25 Hz (this means, as one option, a tunnel with a diameter of 8 and a length of 25 cm). But we get truly devastating acoustic amplification, and not at the cost of uneven frequency response, but as a reward for courage in choosing the volume. Beer - in the salon, sorry.

  • Frequency response unevenness (ZY, 25 - 100 Hz), dB 3.5

As you will see later, the dimensions of the magnet are quite common for heads with a conventional coil, but the calculations gave a far from outstanding value of the force factor of 9.76 T m (the second result from the bottom for a 4-ohm head). The moving system, although not heavy (123 g), is also not light for such a force factor (the average value of the “moving” mass today is 133.6 g). So the reference sensitivity here, frankly speaking, is low. True, the low value of the EBP factor gives some hope. But more on that later. For now, I’ll note that the nonlinear distortions of the Xmax sub were slightly higher than those of the vast majority of “colleagues”: it seemed that at the resonance frequency the diffuser was prone to oscillations in the transverse direction.

Yamaha XMAX engine

As motorcycle-like as the Yamaha X MAX may be, in one part it is still a real scooter. The new single-cylinder engine, combined with a CVT transmission in a single monocoque, replaces the traditional motorcycle swingarm. A single overhead camshaft sets the timing of the four valves, and a liquid cooling system removes excess heat from the engine while at the same time somewhat insulating noise thanks to a water jacket. A cylinder with a diameter of 70.2 mm and a piston with a stroke of 75.9 mm determine the long-stroke nature of the engine, and the compression ratio of 10.9:1 determines the criticality of fuel quality. Oil jet technology provides direct piston cooling, while the die-cast aluminum cylinder with DiASil technology reduces engine weight and improves heat dissipation from the combustion chamber. A forged crankshaft and balancer shaft complete the list of modern high-tech solutions used in this engine.

The 12-jet fuel-injection system provides excellent fuel atomization and excellent throttle response, but what makes this engine a real gem is the traction control feature, which reduces engine traction when a significant difference in front and rear wheel speeds is detected. It must be admitted that this is a unique feature for maxi-scooters, and for most motorcycles in this price category, too. This scooter can be recommended as a “first motorcycle” for a novice rider, because many road troubles can be avoided with ABS and traction control in your arsenal.

Yamaha XMAX 300 2022

The 2022 Yamaha XMAX 300 features a Euro 5 compliant 292cc single-cylinder Blue Core engine, LED headlights, traction control, Smart Key entry and a seat bag that can accommodate two full-face helmets, as well as a 12-volt power outlet and disc brakes. with ABS. The model is available in Icon Gray and Sonic Gray colors.

The Yamaha XMAX 300 Tech Max version will receive a number of cosmetic improvements , including a luxury seat with contrast stitching, luxury interior upholstery with contrast stitching (we are talking in particular about the cushions on the glove compartment lids), anodized foot rests, on which your feet are placed when “chopper” riding position, Frost Silver fork graphics, Gilles Tooling handlebar weights, chrome speedometer ring, and of course, the Tech MAX emblem. The model is available in Tech Camo and Power Gray finishes.

Results

What does all this give us? Engine power at 7500 rpm is 27.6 horsepower and torque is 28.4 Nm at 5750 rpm, and depending on load, slope and wind, the Yamaha X MAX accelerates to 125-135 km/h. Remember when we said this was a great everyday device? Weather protection, active safety systems, speed reserves for country trips, large luggage capacity, and all this - in a modern, stylish scooter. The manufacturer also claims a consumption of only 3.2 liters per hundred, but this figure depends on many factors, so we will consider it just an assumption.

Using the XMX token

XMX is a native token that is used on the XMAX platform to facilitate the exchange of various assets within decentralized applications created on the basis of the blockchain platform. Notably, assets can also be created on the blockchain. Their standard will be ERC20.

Thus, an open-source project makes it possible to use the capabilities and templates for creating DApps absolutely free, and the token is used as a link in the future economy of projects from third-party developers.
